Dan Poppensiek, age 51, of Bellingham, passed away suddenly January 18, 2004 at his home from sudden heart failure.

"Our Dan", with the twinkle in his eye.
Everyone who met Dan was touched by his humor, his generosity and his love for life.
His love of the outdoors was matched only by the love for his wife, Jan and his three stepchildren.
Dan's life was so full of stories and humor; he had a way of bringing smiles to everyone's faces.
Although he departed us at the young age of 51, he lived a life so full of experiences and adventures, that it would take most people two lifetimes to match.
Dan had a heart that overflowed for everyone.
He was always willing to give anything he had to help others, even people he only knew for a short while.
His magnetic personality and charm drew people close to him.
He had friends from all walks of life.
After many years of "soul searching", Dan embraced the Lord, being born again as a Christian.
He was a member of the Cornwall Church of God and a member of a Bible study group.
Dan loved to fish, hunt, and was a "hot rod" enthusiast.
He was a member of a black powder gun club, as well as a collector of them.
More than anything else, Dan loved people and was always there to lend an ear and offer any advice he could.
When we meet the Lord, Dan will be there with that "twinkle in his eye", greeting us with a big warm hug, a smile, and a few new jokes to tell.
Dan is survived by his wife, Jan, step-sons, Jeff and Josh Weissenborn of Bellingham, step-daughter, Jill and husband, Brett Murray of Bellingham, sisters, Karen J. Poppensiek Miller of Marysville, and Priscilla Poppensiek Townsend of Monrovia, CA, and numerous other relatives.
