Clyde A Baker
2/16/1930 - 2/22/2004
Clyde A. Baker, age 74, born in Bellingham
to Pauline Banks and Harry Baker.
Clyde was a lifetime resident of
Bellingham. He attended Bellingham
High School. Clyde worked at Columbia
Valley Lumber Company, later known as
Georgia Pacific, for many years. Later
he worked with his son, Steven C.
Baker, at Steve Baker Kawasaki Suzuki.
Clyde loved salt water fishing,
motorcycles, motorcycle racing, and he
spent years at Mt. Baker Motorcycle
Club preparing the track for racing.
He will be missed by all.
Clyde is survived by daughter Penny
Wark of Phoenix, Arizona; son Steven
(Janice) Baker of Ferndale; former wife
of 50 years Lillian Baker of
Bellingham; sister Myrtle (Gene)
McLennan of Grants Pass, Oregon; sister-
in-law and brother-in-law Chuck and
Barbara White of Herminston, Oregon;
cousins Phyllis Mae JoHansen and
Beverly Hammer; nephew Vernon Straud of
California; good friends George and Ann
Leonard; and Mitch and Matt Fay.
Memorials may be made to the charity of
your choice. Services will be held
Thursday, February 26 at 1:00 p.m. at
Westford Funeral Home Chapel. A
reception will follow at Westford’s
Broadway Hall.
Louise Teresa Linville
4/14/1919 - 5/23/2004
Louise Teresa Linville, age 85 of
Bellingham, born April 14,
1919 in Sugarite, New Mexico to Louis
and Mary (Jelodcan) Marvich. She was a
long time member of Assumption Catholic
Church. She worked as a cook for many
years for the Bellingham School
District and WWU. Louise death by her
husband, Lester Linville, in 1951;
brother Arthur Bengen; sisters Mary
Paul and Martha DuVall; and her parents.
She is survived by her son Larry
(Joann) Linville of Arizona; daughter
Lois (Jim) Boudousquie of Blaine;
daughter Lynda (Denny) Florence of
Bellingham; brother Ben (Sandi) Bengen
of Bellingham; and sister Tona Hamstra
of Everett; along with 10
grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren,
2 great-great grandchildren, and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of
Whatcom County. A Visitation will be
held at Westford Funeral Home on
Wednesday, May 26 from 12 – 5 PM. Mass
of Christian Burial will be held at
Assumption Catholic Church on Thursday,
May 27 at 1:00 PM, followed by a
Graveside Service at Greenacres

Mary Eva McDonald, husband Earl
Barnwell, sister Aileen McDonald,
granddaughter Nancy Johnson, and great-
grandson Forrest Kirkland preceded her
in passed away
January 4, 2004 in Bellingham. He was
born in Bellingham on
April 16, 1942, married
Hollywood actor-producer Patrick
Wright, in 1965. Their daughter, Erin,
was married in San
Francisco in 1980, while on a touring
production of “Revelations.” She
remained his partner and wife for 28
years. Always a loyal friend and
faithful correspondent, Amy was also
the sister-in-law of the late short
story writer and poet, Raymond Carver,
and kept up steady correspondence with
him and his family, and with other
authors and artists over a period
spanning some 40 years, including with
writers James Dickey, Evan S. Connell,
Jr., Hayden Carruth, Merry McInerney,
Joe-Anne McLaughlin, playwright Brendan
Ward, and actors Mary Catherine Wright,
John Harding, and William Wintersole,
among many others. Her archive of
letters and memoirs will continue to
serve scholars and biographers of the
arts in the form of a pending gift of
her correspondence to Special
Collections of the Wilson Library at
Western Washington University.
Above all else, Amy believed in
the enduring bonds of family and
friendship. She did not have time to
inform many of her friends of her
recent illness, and she wanted very
much to express a personal goodbye, and
thank you, to all of them before she
died. She is survived by her loving
daughter, Erin Wright Oglesby, her
granddaughter, Phoebe Patrin Oglesby,
her sisters, Maryann Carver, Valla
Leide, and Annette Bartley, her nephews
Lanny, Lynn and Loren Bonsen, Val and
Vawn Davis, Vance Carver, Raymond
Casebeer, Shawn Day, her nieces
Christine Carver and René Casebeer, and
her husband, Douglas Unger. Memorial
services will be held later in the
summer, in August, time and place to be
announced, and to concide with the
annual Burk and Ritchey family reunion
in Whatcom County.
