"Betty" Johnsen, 90, Rhinelander, worked for Douglas Aircraft, moved to Northwoods in 1945 and purchased Texco gas station 12 miles north of Tomahawk, later expanded to include cottages and grocery store called Whispering Pines Resort, which was sold in 1953, also worked for Rhinelander Paper Co., retiring in 1972, lived Arkansas 20 years, moved back to Rhinelander in 1992(11/23/02; memorial service 12/7/02).
- Brian D. Wurm, 43, died of ALS, employed by Appleton Papers (11/25/02).
