Cynthia "Cindy" A. Jennings
MAIDEN ROCK - Cynthia "Cindy" A. Jennings of Maiden Rock died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at Fairview Red Wing Hospital in Red Wing. She was 38.
She was born on Feb. 2, 1959, in Eau Claire, the daughter of Kenneth M. and Gloria A. (Olson) Hanvold. She attended school in Whitehall and Chippewa Valley Technical College. While attending Chippewa Valley Technical College, she met Robert Jennings; they were married July 28, 1979. She worked for Smead Manufacturing for 17 years.
She was a member of Tabor Lutheran Church. She had suffered from diabetes for 32 years. She was a very talented artist and she loved animals, especially horses.
Survivors include: her husband, Robert Jennings of Maiden Rock; mother, Gloria Hanvold of Pigeon Falls; father-in-law, Harley Jennings of Ellsworth; one sister, Angela (Eric) Anderson of Pigeon Falls; one brother, Steven Hanvold of Wausau; paternal grandmother, Emilie Hanvold of Pigeon Falls; maternal grandparents, Arnold and Harriet Olson, Altoona; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: her father; grandfather, Art Hanvold; and grandmother, Adeline Olson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 2 p.m. at Tabor Lutheran Church in Bay City. Rev. Edward Groop will officiate. Burial will be in the Trenton Cemetery. Friends were to call at the Hill-McLaughlin Funeral Home, Ellsworth, on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and for one hour before the service on Wednesday at the church.

Howard W. Webb
ELMWOOD - Howard W. Webb of Spring Valley died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn. He was 59.
He was born March 14, 1938, the son of Kermit and Ruth (Schrader) Webb. He was born and raised in the Elmwood community. He graduated from Elmwood High School in 1956. After high school, he worked for three summers in Montana.
He married Patricia Murray Feb. 11, 1961, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Menomonie. After marriage, they lived in Menomonie, where he served on the Menomonie Police Department. He also served in the U.S. Army as an M.P. stationed in Korea. After the service, he returned to Menomonie and the Menomonie Police Department until 1967. In 1967, they moved to the Elmwood area and took over the family farm, where he has remained the rest of his life.
He served on the boards of several organizations, including: the Pierce County Farm Bureau for several years, the Elmwood School Board, Elmwood Rod and Gun Club, several different board of Mid-American Dairies, worked on Wisconsin Crop Improvement and currently was Secretary-Treasurer for Durand Cooperatives. He was also a member of the Crain-Ottman American Legion Post 207 of Elmwood.
Survivors include: his wife, Patricia; two sons, Rodney (Kimberly) of Elmwood, Glenn of Cadott; two daughters, Amy Webb of Elmwood and Melaine (Vincent) Breunig of Lodi; two grandsons, Kyle David and Nicholas Hoard Webb, both of Elmwood; his mother, Ruth Webb of Elmwood; two brothers, Donavon of Menomonie and Larry of Spring Valley; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: a daughter, Laura in 1961; his father, Kermit in 1993; and one brother, Jack in 1988.
Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elmwood with Rev. George Becker officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Menomonie with military honors by the Crain-Ottman American Legion Post 207 of Elmwood.

Arlene Pearl Callstrom
Arlene Pearl Callstrom of Red Wing died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at her home. She was 77.
She was born Aug. 10, 1920, in Leon Township, Minn., to Robert and Elvira (Edstrom) Lindell. She married Vincent Callstrom June 10, 1942, in Spring Garden, Minn.
They farmed for many years in Vasa Township, Minn. He died Nov. 13, 1971.
She later moved to Red Wing, where she lived for more than 20 years. She was a member of Spring Garden Lutheran Church. She enjoyed music and needlework.
She is survived by: two sons, Keith "Skeeter" (Marsha) of Ellsworth and Doug (Nita) of Red Wing; three daughters, Sharon (Don) Duden of Red Wing, Janet (Curt) Matthees of Goodhue, Minn., and Judy (Roy) Lodermeier of Goodhue; nine grandchildren; two great-grandsons; one brother, Leslie Lindell of Farmington, Minn.; three sisters, Doris Wagner of Cannon Falls, Minn., June (Gordon) Klossner of Portland, Ore., and Jeanne (Royal) Featherstone of Cannon Falls; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her husband; three brothers, Willard, Paul and Gordon Lindell; and one sister, Lorraine Kasa.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 15, at Spring Garden Lutheran Church with the Revs. Nick and Cindy Fisher-Broin officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons: Jason Luhman, Brandon, Travis and Chad Callstrom, Jeff Matthees and Brian Lodermeier.

Virginia Clara Fayerweather
PLUM CITY - Virginia Clara Fayerweather of Pepin died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at the home of her daughter in Lost Creek, Pepin Township. She was 70.
She was born Jan. 29, 1928, to William and Elizabeth (Tschumperlin) Martin in Plum City. She attended school in Plum City and Pepin, and married George Fayerweather June 19, 1946, in Lake City, Minn.
They lived all their married life on Fayerweather Hill in Pepin Township. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and vacationing in the south during winter months. A member of Free Lutheran Church in Ella, she liked to crochet, sew and bake.
She is survived by: her husband, George of Pepin; one daughter, Mary (Donald) Borchardt of Pepin; three sons, James (Cindy) and David (Deanna), all of Pepin, and Larry (Therese) of Apache Junction, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Marian Kessler of Pepin; and one brother, Bernard (Harriet) Martin of Red Wing.
She was preceded in death by: two sons, Gary and Danny; and a sister, Kathryn Steele.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 16, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pepin, with the Rev. Paul Phillman officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Pepin.

Arnold W. Larson
Arnold W. Larson, Winona, Minn., died Saturday, March 14, 1998, at Community Memorial Hospital in Winona, where he had been a resident of the C&R unit for the past few years. He was 94.
He was born March 3, 1904, in Pierce County to Lewis and Ella (Nelson) Larson and moved in 1938 to Winona. He worked for the U.S. Corps of Engineers on the Dredge Thompson until retiring in 1967.
He married Almira Boyum March 3, 1937, in Lacota, N.D. She died Jan. 24, 1994. He was a member of Central Lutheran Church in Winona and the Nor-Win Sons of Norway Lodge.
He is survived by one son, Wayne (Shirley) of Torrance, Calif., and four grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son, Wendell, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral was to be Tuesday, March 17, at Central Lutheran Church with the Rev. Wade Davick officiating. Entombment was to be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Jennifer, Britt, Andrew and Christian Larson and Randy Snell. Visitation was to be one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church. Memorials are preferred to the C&R Unit at the hospital. Martin-Myhre Funeral home in Winona is handling arrangements.

Erma Ellen Mohr
PRESCOTT - Erma Ellen Mohr, Cannon Falls, Minn., died Friday, March 13, 1998, at Cannon Falls Community Hospital. She was 90.
The daughter of George and Lois (King) McKinley, she was born Feb. 5, 1908, in Goodhue County, Minn. She married Fred Mohr Dec. 16, 1925, in Red Wing; he died March 21, 1978. She worked at Kid Duds in Cannon Falls for 34 years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and growing African violets.
Surviving are: one daughter, Margaret (Aloyed) Jensen of Hastings, Minn.; one son, Russell of Cannon Falls; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; four sisters, Rosa Glasby of Red Wing, Myrtle (Carl) Nelson of Hastings, Feerol (Neal) Nadeau of Red Wing and Helen (Bill) Holst of Prescott.
Preceding her in death, besides her husband, were: one son, Arthur; four brothers, Ronald, Jack, George and Charles McKinley; and two sisters, Daisy James and Vera Burr.
Funeral was to be Tuesday, March 17, at Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls, with the Rev. Dana Peterson officiating. Visistation was to be Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial was in the Cannon Falls Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Roger and Allen Nelson, Daniel Jensen, David McKinley, George McKinley Jr. and Allen Theodorson. Frances 'Irene' Nugent, 84

Frances "Irene" Nugent
Frances "Irene" Nugent of Ellsworth, formerly of Minneapolis, died Monday, March 16, 1998, at the Ellsworth Care Center. She was 84.
She was born April 17, 1913, in Trimbelle Township, the daughter of Frank and Ida (Kjelstad) Nugent. She worked in the civil service during WWII in Dayton, Ohio. After the war, she worked as secretary for Faegre and Benson law firm in Minneapolis. She returned to Ellsworth in the early 1980s. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society and Daughters of Isabella.
She was a loving and caring person, dedicated to her church, family, friends and to her work.
She is survived by: her brother, Mike (Rose) Nugent of Ellsworth; two nieces and two nephews, John (Sally) Nugent of Ellsworth, Pat (Mike) Lansing of Ellsworth, Thomas Nugent of Edina, Minn., and Michelle (Robert) Goodson, Lakeville, Minn.; and many grand nieces and grandnephews.
Mass of Resurrection was to be at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ellsworth. Visitation was to be from 3 p.m. until time of service at the church.

Arnold W. Larson
Arnold W. Larson, Winona, Minn., died Saturday, March 14, 1998, at Community Memorial Hospital in Winona, where he had been a resident of the C&R unit for the past few years. He was 94.

Frances "Irene" Nugent

Roger "Shorty" Quade Sr.
BAY CITY - Roger "Shorty" Quade Sr., Red Wing, died Friday, March 13, 1998, at his home. He was 76.
He was born March 19, 1921, in Wells, Minn., to Herman and Caroline (Meyer) Quade. He attended school in Wells and later moved to Red Wing. For 18 years, he was married to Ellen Stewart, and then they divorced. He married Shannon Bach, and they divorced. He worked at Red Wing Pottery, Conwed, Durkee Atwood, Red Wing Industries and Lincoln Lumber Company.
He is survived by: two daughters, Sandra Magsam of Oronoco, Minn., and Helen (Claire) Stewart of Red Wing; seven sons, Roger Quade Jr. of Welch, Minn., Tom (Judy) Varnado and Tim Varnado, both of Red Wing, Jon, Raymond, Jeremy and Denny Quade, all of Bay City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Stewart and Evelyn Christianson, both of Red Wing; and one brother, Richard (Joyce) of Red Wing.
Preceding him in death were: two sisters, Bernice Aaker and Florence Jennings; and two brothers, Russell Quade Sr. and Kenneth.
Funeral was to be Tuesday, March 17, at United Lutheran Church with the Rev. Randall Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Nick Augustin, Bob Christianson, Glenn Holden, Douglas and Ricki Quade, and Jesse Stewart. Honorary pallbearers were: Branden Augustin, Dan and Tom Fisher, Fred Rausch, Alfred Stewart Jr., John and Randy Stewart.
Bodelson-Mahn Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Marie F. Cassens
PRESCOTT - Marie F. Cassens of Prescott, formerly of Galesburg, Ill., died on Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at the St. Croix Care Center in Prescott. He was 71.
She was born on June 25, 1926, in Prophetstown, Ill., the daughter of Henry and Martha (Vosberg) Thompson.
She married Robert Cassens.
She worked in the deli at Ptacek's IGA. She was an active supporter of Prescott Athletics, especially baseball, Prescott P.T.A. and Girl Scouts. She was a pilot and active in the Stearman Fly-in organization. She was past Worthy Matron of the O.L.S. in Colona, Ill., and a member of the Prescott United Church of Christ, and she enjoyed golf and bowling.
Survivors include: her husband, Robert Cassens, Prescott; two children, Scott (Debra) Cassens, East Galesburg, Ill., and Linda (Tom) Jones, Prescott; two grandchildren, Matthew and Christopher Jones; one sister, Dorothy Noon, Sterling, Ill.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, a daughter, Sandra Cassens-Haraldson, and one brother, William Thompson.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, March 21, at the United Church of Christ in Prescott, with the Rev. David Roberts officiating. Graveside services were in Oak Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Galesburg, Ill., on Monday, March 23, with Fr. Bruce King, I.C., officiating. Visitation was held on March 20 and one hour before the service on March 21.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Croix Care Center or donor's choice.
