DELAVAN/WALWORTH -- Olive "Polly" Haase, age 92, of Boyle Circle, Delavan, and currently of Golden Years Retirement Home in Walworth, died there Thurs., May 30, 2002, where she had been a resident for nearly 10 years. Polly was born on May 19, 1910 in Elkhorn, the daughter of William Hurdis and Ada Blodgett. She was a 1928 graduate of Delavan High School and a 1930 graduate of Whitewater State Teachers College. She married
Howard Haase on Oct. 7, 1933 in Delavan. She moved to Union Grove, WI, to work in the U.S. Post Office there from 1944 to 1970. Olive was a member of the UCC-Congregational Church and its Curtis Circle. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Olive loved flowers and was an avid flower gardener. She was also a volunteer at Lakeland Nursing Home, Elkhorn.
She is survived by her husband, Howard of Walworth; 2 nieces, Donna Welch and Joyce Mitchell; great nieces and nephews. Olive was predeceased by 2 brothers, Floyd and Don Hurdis; and a sister, Dorothy Williams.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Sat., June 1, 2002, at the UCC-CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, Washington St., Delavan, with the Rev. Laura McLeod officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials to UCC Congregational Church are suggested. Marsden, Jeremy James

MENOMONIE, WI -- Jeremy James Marsden, age 22, of Menomonie, formerly of Beaver Dam, WI, died unexpectedly in his home Wed., June 5, 2002, as the result of diabetes. He was born May 26, 1980 in Beaver Dam, the son of Mark and Mary Elizabeth Stanley Marsden. Jeremy graduated from Menomonie High School, Class of 1998 and was a student at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, majoring in telecommunications. He was employed by Arby's Restaurant in Menomonie as assistant manager. Jeremy was a member of First Congregational Church in Menomonie where he was confirmed. He loved computers and was a district computer technician for Menomonie High School. He was a member and officer of DECA and played violin in the orchestra. Jeremy enjoyed baseball, fishing, camping, hiking outdoors, snowmobiling, and his cat.
Survivors include his parents, Mark and Mary Marsden of Janesville; a brother, Jonathon Marsden of Eau Claire; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Suzann Marsden of Beloit; his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Stanley of Beloit; his great-grandmothers, Kathleen "Kay" Marsden of Beloit and Marie White of Janesville; aunts and uncles: Kristi and Kevin Hayden of Janesville, Heidi and Curtis Nelson, Richard and Joan Stanley, all of Beloit; Ron and Sandy Stanley, his godparents, of Harvard, IL, Dennis and Rose Kenney of Beloit, Judy Stanley of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Harold and Marge Stanley of Shullsburg, WI; numerous cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather, George Stanley, and his great-grandfathers, Frank Marsden, Sr. and James White.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Sat., June 8, 2002, in FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, Beloit, with the Rev. Gene Van Galder officiating. Burial will be in Emerald Grove cemetery, Emerald Grove, WI. Visitation will be Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. in the DALEY-MURPHY-WISCH & ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit. Memorials may be given in his name to the American Diabetes Foundation.
Jeremy will be sadly missed by his mom, dad, brother, family and friends.

Douglas is survived by his father, Byron (Inez) Welsh of Normal, IL; 2 brothers, Ken (Julie) Welsh of Nashotah, WI and Steve Welsh of Frisco, CO; 1 sister, Nancy Welsh of Chenoa, IL; grandmother, Hazel Welsh of Bloomington, IL; niece, Katelyn Welsh of Nashotah; and a nephew, Matthew Welsh of Nashotah. He was preceded in death by his mother.

WINTER GARDEN, FL --- Marvin W. Bruhn, age 76, a resident of inter Garden, Fl, formerly of Janesville, died Sat., June 14, 2003, at Quality Health Care Center, Winter Garden. He was born in Chicago, IL, on Nov. 24, 1926, the son of William and Anna (Kaiser) Bruhn. arvin first served in the US Navy during WWII and would then join the US Army where he would retire after a total of 22 years, which included two assignments in Europe and Korea. He married
Helen Jean Bruhn on June 29, 1951, at Ft. Leavenworth, KS. She preceded him in death on Nov. 27, 1998. After retiring from the military, Marvin was a Deputy Sheriff for the Rock County Sheriff's Department where he retired after serving almost 20 years. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include his son, Gary (Brenda) Bruhn of Windermere, FL; grandson, Michael (Jennifer) Bruhn of Madison; and a sister, Estelle Richardson of Lake Geneva. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and 3 sisters: Verna, Evelyn, and Dorothy.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2003, in the SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME. EDGERTON -- Donald M. Blihovde, age 60, died Thurs., Oct. 18, 2001 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on Mar. 11, 1941 in LaCrosse, the son of Morris and Evelyn (Larson) Blihovde, and he graduated from Cashton High School in 1959. Don was a Janesville resident for 35 years, and has been a Edgerton resident for the last 8 years. He married
Arlene Weber on Oct. 29, 1960 in Middle Ridge, WI; she preceded him in death on May 20, 1990. He married
Karen L. Rittenhouse on Aug. 13, 1994 at their farm in Edgerton. Don was employed by General Motors for 30 years retiring in May of 1989. He was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, UAW Local 95, a member of Wisconsin Harness Horse Assn., and Mule and Donkey Assn., winning the Pacer of the Year award in 1989, and runner up for Trotter of the Year in 1999. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, going to casinos, and listening to Country Music, especially George Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; father, Morris Blihovde of Cashton; 4 daughters: Ann Krause of Sun Prairie, Kathy Otis, Sandy (Shawn) McDonald both of Madison, and Barb (Gordy) Beyer of Holmen, WI; 6 grandchildren: Adam, Aubrie, and Alex Krause, Zachary and Jessica McDonald, and Seth Beyer; a brother, Gary (Julie) Blihovde of Janesville; a sister, Jeannie (Dave) LeDoux of Elgin, IL; many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn; and first wife, Arlene.

DELAVAN -- Valerie Voss Ann Boutelle, age 50, of 633 Bowers Blvd. died at her home on Wed., Oct. 31, 2001 after a courageous battle with cancer. Valerie was born May 14, 1951 in Elkhorn, the daughter of James Voss and Beatrice Jackett. Valerie graduated from Delavan-Darien High School in 1969. She married
Edward W. Boutelle July 8, 1972 in Delavan, WI at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Valerie graduated from Univ. of Wis-Whitewater with her bachelors degree in Elementary Education and received her masters degree from Nat. Louis University in Chicago. Valerie taught for 14 years at West Side Elementary School in Elkhorn as a 4th grade teacher. Valerie was active in her community, member of Jaycets of Delavan, Delavan Junior Women's Club, Wis. Education Assoc., and active in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Valerie was a loving mother and wife and enjoyed and loved the children she taught at Westside Elementary School.
Valerie is survived by her husband, Edward; 2 daughters, Courtney (Patrick) Peyer of Delavan, Hannah at home; a son, Jay (Miranda) of Madison, AFS daughter, Jessica Franzen of Stockholm Sweden, a brother, Charles (Marie) Voss of Rochester, NY. She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Nancy Voss McSweeney.
Funeral services will be at noon, Sat., Nov. 4, 2001 at OUR REDEEMER LUTHERAN CHURCH, with the Rev. Robert P. Rickman officiating. William Hegelmeyer on Aug. 3, 1957, in Janesville. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1988. She was employed by Gibbs Manufacturing, and was a member of Afton Community Church and the Women of the Moose.
She is survived by her son, Keith (Sue Ann) Hegelmeyer of Janesville; granddaughter, Abreyal (Mario) Garcia of Lavonia, GA; 4 great grandchildren: Matthew, Carly, Teresa, and Christina; a brother, Wilbur (Gerry) Donner of Percina, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Dean Sweeney; brother, Walter Donner; and 2 sisters, Doris Vingers and Adeline Homan.

PLATTEVILLE/EVANSVILLE -- Sherri Lynn (Sanner) Goins, age 22, of Platteville, formerly Evansville, died unexpectedly of a pulmonary embolism on Fri., May 24, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Platteville. She was born on Oct. 10, 1979 in Madison, the daughter of David and Merna (Weaver) Sanner of Evansville. She was a 1998 graduate of Evansville High School and a Summa Cum Laude graduate of U.W. Platteville this May. Sherri was married
to Matthew Goins on Aug. 13, 1999 in Janesville. She was a 9 year member of Evansville 4-H and loved animals of all kinds. She worked for 3 years at Dick's Supermarket in Platteville while attending school.
Sherri is survived by her husband, Matt of Platteville; her parents, Merna and Dave Sanner; her grandmothers, Margaret Sanner and Marga Weaver; a brother, Dean (Tonya) Sanner; her mother and father-in-law, Connie and Tony Evans; a brother and 2 sisters-in-law: Stephanie and Anthony Evans and Antonia Johnson; aunts, uncles, cousins, and her two dogs, Timber and Kira.
A memorial service for Sherri will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wed., May 29, at WARD FUNERAL HOME, EVANSVILLE. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until time of services. A meal and time of fellowship will follow the service. The family suggests memorials to the Iowa-Grant County Humane Society or WAGS, Inc., in keeping with Sherri's love of animals.

JANESVILLE --- Stanley R. “Stan” Cooper, age 88, of 1513 Liberty Lane, died Fri., Jan. 2, 2004, at Ft. Atkinson Hospital. He was born on Jan 17, 1915, in Waunakee, WI, the son of Raymond and Caroline (Fleiner) Cooper. Stan graduated from Waunakee High School and received a Bachelors Degree from UW-Whitewater. He served in the US Army during WWII from 1942 to 1946. Stan married
Arabelle C. Adler on Dec. 28, 1957, in Waunakee, WI. He was employed by the Wisconsin Dept. of Revenue as an accountant, retiring in 1977. He had been a Janesville resident for 45 years. Stan was a member of the Blackhawk Golf Course Men’s Senior Golf League.
He is survived by his wife, Arabelle; daughter, Patricia (Bruce) Osenroth of Appleton, WI; 6 grandchildren: Collin, Nikole, Erin, Courtney, Emily and Taylor; and a brother, Raymond (Doris) Cooper of Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Kenneth and Donald Cooper.

Brussat, Thelma W.

JANESVILLE -- Thelma W. Brussat, age 90, a resident of Cedar View Health Care Center, died there Mon., Oct. 15, 2001. One of seven children, Thelma was born in Elwood, IN on March 18, 1908, the daughter of George and Iva (Gross) Evans. Thelma graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in library science. She met her future husband Ray S. Brussat in Antigo, WI when she was a librarian and he was a history teacher there. They were married
in Elwood, IN on Aug. 23, 1933. They moved to Janesville in 1935 because her husband took a job as a social studies teacher and coach at the Janesville Junior High School and later transferred to the Janesville High School. They stayed in Janesville as his career took him from teacher to principal of Marshall Junior High School and eventually principal of Franklin Junior High School. Thelma worked at the Janesville Library, substituted at the Janesville High School Library and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Thelma had the first of her 3 daughters in 1934 and became a homemaker whose talents included making beautiful clothes and excellent pies. She continued being the family historian and researcher, always looking up facts in the dictionary or encyclopedia during many family discussions. She always claimed her proudest achievement was being the mother of 3 daughters.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Joan (Jerry) Cole of Wichita, KS, Nancy Brussat of Chicago, IL, and Karen (Jeff) Butler of Norwalk, CT; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; dear friends, Velma and Michael Burke of Janesville. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her great-granddaughter, Kalavani Tessa Butler; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sat., Nov. 10, 2001 at the CEDAR CREST CHAPEL, with Rev. Glenn Skatrud officiating. The family is being assisted by Whitcomb-Lynch-Overton Funeral Home.
