JANESVILLE - Robert G. Turner, age 87, of 1920 Woodruff Blvd., died Mon., March 15, 2004, at Haven House Hospice. He was born in Canada on Oct. 5, 1916, the son of Percy and Anna (Hovde) Turner and served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Fanshaw Bay. He married
Bonnie Hall on April 25, 1943. She preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 1975. He remarried
in Janesville on Oct. 7, 1978, to Carol (Crosby) Heenan. Bob was employed by General Motors security for 27 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, National Ski Patrol for 44 years and Warbirds. Bob enjoyed attending reunions of USS Fanshaw Bay, downhill skiing, golfing, gardening and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; a daughter, Jan (Gerald) Berg of Durham, NC; 2 grandsons, Jake and Danny Berg; 3 step-daughters: Linda Schultz of Minneapolis, MN, Denise (Peter) Skelly of Janesville, and Wendy (John) Grams of Orange Park, FL; 5 step-grandchildren: Randy Schultz, Heidi Schultz, Fawn (Duffy) Dillon, Cullen Grams, and Hadley Grams; 2 sisters, Thelma Jahn and Phyllis Huwa both of Portland, OR; and a brother, Gil (Marie) Turner of Homeland, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Bonnie; daughter, Linda Turner; and 2 sisters, Fran Shadduck and Gladys Gette.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Sat., March 20, 2004, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul H. Garchow and Rev. David P. Ramel officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Oak Hill cemetery. JANESVILLE - Sheryllin I. Anderson, age 49, of 705 Kellogg Ave. #2, passed away Monday, April 17, 2006, at her home. She was born in Fort Ord, CA, on April 3, 1957, the daughter of Sylvia Smith (Bruce) Warren and the late Roland Anderson. She lived in Austin, MN, until she moved to Beloit in November, 1966. She moved to Janesville in August, 1972. Sheryllin graduated from Parker High School in 1975. She is a person who will be missed by her family and friends for her sense of humor. She liked her crafts, loved collecting dolphins and going to Rec-night. She was a member of Roxbury Road Church of Christ and a member of the Women of the Moose.
She is survived by her fiance’, William Ames of Janesville; her parents, Sylvia (Bruce) Warren of Janesville; 2 daughters, Terri (Tom) Holmbeck and Toni (Candi Olson) Vonesh; 2 granddaughters, Tristin Vonesh and Alyssa Holmbeck; a step grandson, Aaron Olson all of Janesville; sister, Jacquie (Mark) Fank of Wadena, MN; nephew, Matthew Fank; niece, Beverly Fank; stepmother, Linda Anderson; 2 half sisters, Tammy Anderson and her son, Jared, and Jody Anderson all of Monticello, MN; many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Arlen; maternal grandparents, John and Elsie Smith; and by an infant son.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2006, at ROXBURY ROAD CHURCH OF CHRIST, 2103 Roxbury Road, Janesville. JANESVILLE - Edward G. “Jerry” Prendergast, age 70, of 1614 N. Claremont Dr., died unexpectedly Easter Sunday, April 11, 2004, at Mercy Hospital. He was born in Chicago, IL, on Feb. 23, 1934, the son of Edward A. and Mary (McNicholas) Prendergast, was a graduate of St. Rita Grade School, St. Rita High School and attended DePaul University. Jerry served in the US Army from Nov. 1956- Nov. 1958, both stateside as well as in Germany, with an additional 4 years in the reserves. He married
Mary Joan Gorman on Nov. 23, 1968, at St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church, Chicago. They were residents of Monroe, WI, from 1973-1994. He was a truck driver for Green Bay Packaging in Monroe and later for Certified Cartage, Janesville. Jerry was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. He was a man of deep faith who was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; 4 children: Ann (Chad) Garthwaite of Brodhead, Carol (fiance’ Richard Miller) Prendergast of Edgerton, Lori Prendergast of DeForest, and Stephen (Brie) Prendergast of Oak Creek; 2 grandchildren, Maggie and Jack Garthwaite with a 3rd grandchild expected in July; and 2 brothers, Joseph (Carole) Prendergast of Chicago and John (Patricia) Prendergast of Franklin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant brother, Richard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thurs., April 15, 2004, in St. John Vianney Catholic Church with Fr. Mike Doro and Fr. Stephen Umhoefer officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet cemetery. JANESVILLE / MILTON - Shelly M. Johnson, age 41, and K-tal G. Johnson, age 42, of Milton, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Warsaw, Indiana. Shelly was born on Sept. 11, 1965 in Janesville, the daughter of Larry and Vicky (Harris) Wilkinson and was a 1983 graduate of Parker High School. K-tal was born on Feb. 3, 1964 in Janesville, the son of Darus and Margaret “Peggy” (Feather) Johnson and was a 1982 graduate of Parker High School. Shelly and K-tal were married
on Nov. 1, 1986 at 1st Congregational Church in Janesville. Shelly was employed as a unit clerk at Mercy Hospital for the past 18 years, and also at Eyeopia.
K-tal was employed as a fire fighter, from 1985 to 1991 for the Janesville Fire Dept and since 1991 for the Madison Fire Dept. where he is a Lieutenant at Station 1B. Both Shelly and K-tal loved following their son’s athletics, particularly youth wrestling and football.
Shelly and K-tal are survived by their son, Ian. Shelly is also survived by her mother, Vicky (Don) Ryniec of Janesville; 2 sisters: Lisa (Matthew) Gosline of Janesville and Tracy (AJ) Greenlee of Beloit; 2 nieces, Sara and Sydney and a nephew, Mark. K-tal is also survived by his mother, Peggy (Bob) Perleberg of Ft. Wayne, IN; 3 sisters: Tiiu (Harry) Hart of Virginia, Kalay (Jared) Colly of Ft. Wayne, IN and Dailan Johnson of Ft. Wayne, IN; a stepsister, Shannon (Ray) Adams of Janesville; 2 nieces, Megan and Abby and a nephew, Alex. Both Shelly and K-tal were preceded in death by their fathers and grandparents.
Joint Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 612 N. Randall Ave., Janesville. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME, Janesville. Memorials are preferred to the Fire Fighters Local 311 Charities for a scholarship fund for Ian.

Josephine P. Brooks, age 95, died Saturday at the home of her nephew Clifford Jones, with whom she had been staying for the past month at, 2517 E. Country O, Janesville. She was a Milwaukee resident most all her life. Josephine married
Lester Brooks on December 12, 1931 in St. Veronica Catholic Church in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death. She is survived by a sister, Irene Bartz of Milwaukee, WI and several nieces and nephews including her nephew Clifford Jones with whom she chose to live out her last days. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2004, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME. JANESVILLE - James R. Ackley, age 75, of 4022 Mackinac Dr., died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Facility, Fitchburg. He was born in Whitehall, WI, on Dec. 26, 1931, the son of Melvin and Margaret (Rognlien) Ackley and graduated from Whitehall High School. Jim served in the US AirForce from 1951-1956. He married
Anita Willert-Gerber on Sept. 5, 1958, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Jim was employed as an area manager for JATCO until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Kienow Hilt VFW Post 1621, Loyal Order of Moose, and served on the Board of Directors for both the United Way of N. Rock County and the Wisconsin Motor Carrier’s Association. Jim and Anita spent 9 winters in Arizona which Jim enjoyed as he and his buddies went tracking in the mountains sight-seeing. He spent the summers volunteering as a driver for Rock County Child Protective Services. He loved football, especially the Badgers. And most of all, he loved having his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren come to visit.
He is survived by his wife, Anita; 3 children: Sandra (Richard) Anhalt of Franklin, WI, Jerry (Deb) Gerber of Janesville, and Cheryl (Jerry) Burri of Fort Atkinson; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Donald (Irene) Ackley of Whitehall and Alfred Ackley of Hopkins, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David Ackley; and great granddaughter, Kendall Kortes.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at the FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH with Rev. James Melvin and Rev. George Bauman officiating. Entombment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. JANESVILLE - Marcella J. Fanning, age 79, of Janesville, died Fri., April 2, 2004, at Mercy Hospital. She was born in Orient, SD, on March 7, 1925 the daughter of Leo and Katherine (Lapke) Templin and was a 1943 graduate of Janesville High School. She married
Robert G. Fanning on Nov. 20, 1948 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 2002. Marcella initially was employed by Parker Pen, then remained at home while her children were young, and then spent nearly 25 years at Gilman Engineering as a purchasing agent before retiring in 1986. She was a charter member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, a former member of the Janesville Garden Club, volunteered for Rotary Gardens and enjoyed traveling. Marcella was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother who always made time for her family. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren taking her for drives through the countryside.
She is survived by her 5 children: Barb (Bill) Flanagan of Lodi, Terry (Debbie) Fanning of Janesville, Beverly (Dennis) Punzel of Fitchburg, Rosemary (Doug) Brucker of Janesville and Richard (Anna) Fanning of Evansville; 13 grandchildren: Gregory, Rebecca, Daniel, Christopher, Michael, Jennifer, Kevin, Austin, Carrie, Katie, Sarah, Patrick and Matthew; a great granddaughter, Olivia; 2 sisters, Adele Yasaitis of Phillips, WI, and Leona (Bill) Fanning of Janesville; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 4 sisters: Dorothy, Florence, Katherine, and Betty.

MILTON - Richard Ash, age 69, of 608 Hilltop Dr., Milton, died Sat., June 1, 2002, at Mercy Health System, Janesville. He was born on June 17, 1932 in Janesville, the son of Harry and Mary (Connolly) Ash. He lived all his life in the Janesville and Milton area. Richard graduated from Milton High School and was an inspector at General Motors, which he was retired from. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married
Aletha Cookson on October 17, 1990. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Milton, The American Legion #67, V.F.W. Post Milton, and U.A.W. #95 Retirees.
He is survived by his wife, Aletha of Milton; a son, Leonard (Sue) Cherrier of Janesville; 2 daughters, Christine (Peter) Cox of Janesville and Nancy (Harold) Babcock of Janesville; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty McBride of Milton; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Vincent, Phil and Brad; 3 sisters: Rita, Lorraine and Devota.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wed., June 5, 2002, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, Milton, with Msgr. Jim Uppena officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery, Milton. EDGERTON - Wanda C. Ylvisaker, age 83, formerly of 202 E. High St., Edgerton, died Wed., May 29, 2002, at Fairhaven Nursing Home in Whitewater. She was born on July 23, 1918 in Edgerton, the daughter of Christian and Jeannette (Dehlin) Elsing. She married
Robert Ylvisaker on Dec. 25, 1940; he died in 1966. Wanda lived in Edgerton her whole life. She graduated from Edgerton High School. She worked at Regal-Beloit for many years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Central Lutheran Church, and ran the funeral lunches for Central Lutheran for many years. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, and walking.
Wanda is survived by her sister, Lillian Riedel of Whitewater; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Sat., June 1, 2002, at CENTRAL LUTHERAN CHURCH with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Jenson cemetery. DELLWOOD, WI / JANESVILLE - Karen A. (Fanning) Molden, age 60, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving husband and family on Monday, August 26, 2002 . Karen was born on June 12, 1942 in Janesville, WI., the daughter of William J and Elizabeth (Kelly) Fanning. She grew up in Johnstown Center and graduated from Janesville High School in 1960. After graduation, Karen worker at the Parker Pen Co. She married
John F. Molden on August 27, 1966 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Karen and her family moved several times before returning home to Janesville. A summer home was kept in Dellwood, WI., where many friends were made. In 1996 Karen and John moved from Janesville to Dellwood. Much of her time was spent enjoying the outdoors and helping with the family business. Karen loved family and friends, and touched the heart of everyone she met.
She is survived by her husband, John of 36 years. Three sons, Jeffrey J. Molden, and special friend (Donna) of Appleton, Michael J. Molden, Daniel F. Molden, and special friend (Stacey) of Madison, sister, Marlene (Jack) Geronimi of Janesville, brother, Richard (Jan) Fanning of Janesville, brother-in-law, James K. (Barbara) Molden of Bellingham, WA and grandchildren, Gabriel Molden and Lindsey Molden, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Karen was preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff in the Oncology Department at the University of Wisconsin. Special thanks to Dr. James Stewart. The family would also like to thank Hospice Care of Tomah, WI for their care and support during this difficult time. Karen will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
