Helen O'Gordon
Helen C. Kolstad O'Gordon, 98, formerly of 215 Ohio St., died Monday, November 6, 2000, at Care Partners Rest Home in Eau Claire.
She was born on January 19, 1902, in Eau Claire to Oscar and Dora (Johnson) Anderson. Helen married Henry Kolstad in Eau Claire. Henry died in 1932. She later married Leslie O'Gordon in Eau Claire.
Helen worked in the bead room at Uniroyal Tire Company, retiring after 17 years in 1964.
Survivors include three children, Virginia Kolstad (Larry Bowman) of Milwaukee, S. John (Doreen) Kolstad and Mary O'Gordon (Jim Knickerbocker), both of Eau Claire; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Henry Kolstad and Leslie O'Gordon; a son, Delos Kolstad; and four brothers, Frank, Carl, Clarence and Lawrence Anderson.
Helen was a wonderful mother, a great cook and a devoted gardener. She was happiest when she could share her baking or her beautiful flowers and produce with others. Helen was a talented and creative seamstress; she could make "more" out of "nothing" than anyone could imagine. She will be sadly missed by all.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Vicki C. Simon officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the church.
Bernard Plante
Bernard W. Plante, 75, of 519 W. Willow St., Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, November 7, 2000, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
He was born February 16, 1925, in Chippewa Falls, to Eleanor (Pitsch) and Wilfred L. Plante. He grew up in Chippewa Falls, and attended Chippewa Falls Senior High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served from 1943 to 1946 during WWII.
Bernard married Kathleen M. Cosgrove on October 25, 1947, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. He retired after working ten years at the Chippewa County Hospital and 22 years at the Northern Center, where he was an Aide II.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Kay (Jeff) Smiskey of Chippewa Falls, Suszanne (Jeff) Ness of Jarrettsville, Md., Roxzanne (Joe) Morris of Wylie, Texas, and Colleen (Harvey) Fouts of Chippewa Falls; one son, Dennis Plante of Chippewa Falls; one brother, William Plante of Eau Claire; 12 grandchildren, David Fouts, Amy (Ron) Olsen, Eric Fouts, Chad Pehlke, Shawn Pehlke, Troy Pehlke, Dennis Plante, Jr., Tiffany Morris, Paul Morris, Courtney Ness, Alex Ness and Christopher Ness; and four great-grandchildren, Reese, Alyssa, Samantha and Tashina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eugene and Marie Cosgrove.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 10th at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Jerome Robinson celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment with military rites conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council will follow at Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and until the time of services Friday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. The Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council will pay their respects at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
Bernard was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather and was a very hard working man. He had a great sense of humor that made everyone laugh and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Frank Potts
Frank D. Potts, 88, Eau Claire, died Tuesday, November 7, 2000, at Dove Healthcare. Frank was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Nov. 17, 1911, to David and Lucy (Heuer) Potts. He lived in the town of Wheaton as a young boy and attended the Sunny Side School in Chippewa County. He married Ardith Elaine Gorton, Sept. 21, 1936, in Eau Claire. They were married 61 years. Frank drove for Shoemarker Trucking during World War II. He then worked for Uniroyal for 40 years, retiring in 1974.
Frank was a very active member of the Merry Mixers Square Dancers for 40 years and attended all their conventions. He also enjoyed calling the dances. After retirement, he took up golf and played in singles and couples leagues at various golf courses in the Eau Claire area. Frank enjoyed 88 years of life, family and friends. He loved to sit outside and visit with everyone walking by. Frank also enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his children, Donald (Carmen) Potts, Eau Claire, Dale (Arlene) Potts, Chippewa Falls and Diane (Noel) Smith, Eau Claire; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Naomi Welter, Eau Claire, Lois Rahl, Eau Claire and Elenora Bundy, Fall Creek; two sisters-in-law, Edith Potts, Chippewa Falls and Marcella Potts, Augusta.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardith; his parents; four brothers, Sidney, John, David and Richard; and a grandson, Daniel Potts.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Eau Claire, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Pirazzini officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.
Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Stokes & Mundt Funeral Chapel, Eau Claire and an hour before services Friday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to First Congregational U.C.C. or Beaver Creek Reserve.
George Reiter
George Wm. Reiter, 90, of 3316 Miller Street, Eau Claire, passed away peacefully today, November 8, 2000, at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home.
George was born June 4, 1910, in the town of Seymour to Paul and Mary (Stein) Reiter. George married Anna Poeschel on August 24, 1943, at Sacred Heart Church in Mondovi. George worked for Omaha Railroad Depot for many years and for Altoona Equity Auction Sales, from where he retired in 1975.
George is survived by his wife, Anna of 57 years; one sister, Irene Olson of Fall Creek; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Joseph, Charles, Henry and Laurence; and three sisters, Anna Meyers, Lucy Reidel and Eleanor Clark.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2000, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Father Eugene Klink officiating. Entombment will be in Chapel of the Resurrection Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2000, at Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home, where there will be a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Irene Creaser
Irene C. Creaser, 87, of Menomonie, Wis., went to be reunited with her husband, Richard Creaser, on Monday, Nov. 13, 2000.
The former Irene Clara Severson was born June 25, 1913, to Olaf and Louise (Johnson) Severson in the township of Menomonie, Dunn County, Wis. She was raised in the Menomonie area and attended area schools.
On September 26, 1934, Irene married Richard D. Creaser in Menomonie, Wis. They were married for 65 years until Richard's death in 1999.
Irene farmed with her husband in the Menomonie area until the age of 62 when they retired. Irene was a member of Little Elk Creek Lutheran Church. She held several offices with the ELCW through the years and taught Sunday School for a number of years.
Irene's hobbies included baking, quilting, her flower garden and spending time with her family and friends.
Irene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family, relatives and friends.
Irene is survived by one son and two daughters, Robert (Jewel) Creaser of Elk Mound, Mary (Wayne) Weber of Menomonie and Sarah (Michael) Sol of Menomonie; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and her parents, Olaf and Louise Severson.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at Little Elk Creek Lutheran Church in the town of Red Cedar, Dunn Co., Wis., with Rev. Richard Klabunde officiating. Burial will be in Little Elk Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Mary Sobcyak
Mary Sobcyak, 82, of 2203 Hayden Avenue, Altoona, passed away at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home Saturday, November 11, 2000.
Mary was born April 8, 1918, in Altoona, the daughter of John and Maude (Reed) Stahl. She graduated from Altoona High School as Salutatorian of her class in 1936. Mary graduated from Eau Claire Teacher's College in 1940, and she taught school in Durand, Winter and Elmwood. On December 19, 1942, she married Raymond Sobcyak in Eau Claire.
Mary is survived by her husband, Raymond of 57 years; daughter, Jan Bradison of Altoona; granddaughters, Kristin (Joe) Granberg of New Richmond and Kari (Tim) Aldrich of Fall Creek; and four great-grandchildren who were the delight of her life, Whitney and Alex Aldrich and Tyanna and Ayla Granberg. She is further survived by two sisters, Emily Woodford and Gene Pornat, both of Altoona; sisters-in-law, Frances Shaw of Beaver Dam, Margaret Nicholson of Fairchild and Lucile Sobcyak of Fairchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Leah, Mae, Joyce and Alene; and brother, Gordon.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2000, at St. Simeon's Episcopal Church, 19058 190th Street, Hwy. J, Chippewa Falls, Wis., with Father George Stamm officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the charity of the donor's choice.

Albert Lund
NEENAH -- Albert O. Lund, 89, died unexpectedly Monday, December 11, 2000, at his home.
He was born October 28, 1911, in Stanley, Wis., son of the late Hans and Marie (Sorenson) Lund. He married Dorothy Pfaffenroth on July 2, 1932, in Chicago. She preceded him in death on January 29, 1992.
Albert was a Neenah resident since 1930. He was a former employee of KC Corporation, retiring in 1974. He was a member of Elisha-Kent-Kane Lodge #61 of the F.&A.M. of Neenah. Albert spent retirement years painting wildlife and landscapes. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Neenah. He served honorably in the Wisconsin National Guard as a Cavalryman in Stanley, Wis., with the 105th Cavalry Regiment of the 53rd Cavalry Brigade from 1926 to 1930, and with Company I of the 127th Infantry of Neenah from 1931 to 1933. Albert was a former leader at the Boy's Brigade where he initiated their fly tying class. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years.
Survivors include a daughter, Jana (Rick) Hagen, Eau Claire, Wis.; two sons, Jerome (Susan) Lund, New London, Wis., and Todd Lund, Appleton, Wis.; six grandchildren, Kirsten (Kirk) Brownson, Gretchen (Jeff) Barylak, Eric and Steven Lund, Jessica and Emily Hagen; and two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Devon Brownson. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Albert was preceded in death by a son, Roger A. Lund in 1953; four sisters, Johana, Anna, Alda and Dora; and three brothers, Rudolph, Edward and Carl.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 15, 2000, at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Nancy Krueger officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah.
Friends may call on Friday at the funeral home from noon until the hour of service.
Memorials may be made to the Boys and Girls Brigade.
