Morris Schnoor
Morris Schnoor, age 86, of Lake Delton, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 3, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells, with Reverend Dennis Schueler officiating. Burial will be at the Spring Grove Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells. Military Honors will be provided by the Harold B. Larkin American Legion Post 187.
Visitation will be held at the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton on Sunday, March 2, 2008 from 2:00 P.M.until 8:00 P.M. and on Monday, March 3, 2008 at the Trinity Lutheran Church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00.
Morris was born November 23, 1921 in Florence, Nebraska, the son of Otto and Ruth (Kindred) Schnoor. In June of 1954 he married Jean (Zimmermann) in Chicago, IL. He was an inspector for the U.S. Postal Service. Bowling, stamp and coin collecting, soccer and dancing polka’s were among his favorite past times. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII and was a member of the Harold B. Larkin American Legion Post 187 of Wisconsin Dells.
Morris is survived by his wife Jean; sons, Lee (Anita) Schnoor of Rockton, IL and Bruce (Rhonda) of Machesney Park, IL; daughter, Laurie (Robert) Alvin of Wisconsin Dells; brother, Raymond (Julianna) of Niles, IL; sisters, Lillian “Dolly” (Richard) Mayer of Elk Grove Village, IL and Shirley (Thomas) Williams of Mokena, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Ronald Eugene and sister Elizabeth Hongoltz.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Wisconsin Dells, the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
William Harrielle
William Harrielle, age 64, of Baraboo, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo.
At this time there are no services planned.
William was born June 17, 1943 in Mendota, Illinois, the son of Clarence and Joyce (Gillette) Harrielle. In 1985 he married Mary Ebey in Sandwich, Illinois, where they lived until relocating to Wisconsin Dells, in 1993. William had worked as a maintenance person at the former Holiday Inn/Antiqua Bay in Wisconsin Dells, for 13 years.
William is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Scott (Dawn) Harrielle of Sterling, IL; daughters Dawn (Patrick) Lynch of Sheridan, Illinois, Suzanne Lopez of Plano, IL and Billi Jo (Tom) Lodenstein of Wayland, MI; step-daughters, Penny (Ed) Arnold of Seattle, WA, Victoria (Tom) Purdue of Carbondale, IL, and Jennifer Baltic of Racine, WI; sisters, Linda (Jim) Weis of Shorewood, IL, Patricia (Howard) Hibs of Max Meadows, VA, Karen Wickert of Seattle, WA, and Starr (Tom) Tolefson of Conyers, GA; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents; first-wife Carol and his son, William Jr.
Marc Weber
Marc Weber, age 47, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008 at St. Clare Hospital, Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Memorial funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Big Spring Congregational Church in Big Spring, Wisconsin, with Reverend David M. Bowman officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.
Marc was born March 12, 1960 in Waukegan, Illinois, the son of Jacque and Donna (Knodell) Weber. For all those who knew Marc, which were quite a few of you, knew what a guy he was. He loved the outdoors. Fishing was one of his passions; he loved to go hunting with his boys and his friends; work on small engines of any kind for everyone; and snowplowing. His newest and greatest adventure and passion would have been gold prospecting. Although he didn’t get too far into this adventure it would have been his greatest.
Marc is survived by his wife, Chris; sons, Ty and Ethan; mother, Donna (Richard) Wyer of Maine; father, Jacque Weber of Florida; brother, Bruce Weber of Maine; sisters, Janet (Mike) Johnson of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jackie (Richard) Goss of Norfolk, Virginia, Ronda (Robert) Piotrowski of Beach Park, Illinois and Renee Turner of Illinois; and many loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Weber grandparents, Wyer grandparents, and his Knodell grandparents.

Dorothy Dehler
Dorothy Dehler, age 88, died Thursday, February 7, 2008 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
According to her wishes no service will be held. Private interment will be held at a later date.
Dorothy was born December 31, 1919 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the daughter of Virgil and Katherine (Schlageter) Scott. In October of 1952 she married Glenn Dehler. He preceded her in death in April of 1984. Dorothy was a beautician, starting her career in Sauk City and then working at Charm Beauty Shop in Wisconsin Dells for many years. Dorothy and Glenn also operated a hardware store in Lake Delton until moving to Madison. They returned to Lake Delton to enjoy their retirement years.
Dorothy is survived by her step-daughter, Connie Lesnik of Wind Lake, WI; step grandson, Spencer Lavallee; step great-grandson, Mason Lavallee; sisters-in-law, Laura Mae Scott and Donna Scott; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, John, Robert and Daniel; twin brother, Donald and his wife, Emmy Lou; and a sister, Virginia Hall.
Violet Kalamarz
Violet M. Kalamarz, age 80, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, died peacefully in the comfort of her own home on Tuesday, February 12, 2008.
Memorial funeral services will be held Monday, February 18, 2008 at 6:30 P.M. at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 4:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M.
Violet was born May 4, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Jungen) Brown. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them; she was fond of handicrafts; liked to eat at different restaurants and travel; and she always enjoyed good times with friends. Violet worked as a candy maker in the Dells for many years. She was especially proud of her many chocolate-covered treats. Violet also survived a bout with pancreatic cancer in 1999 and was very grateful to the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.
Violet is survived by a son, Timothy (Sherry) Kalamarz of McFarland, Wisconsin; daughters, Judith Rohde of DuBois, Wyoming, Kathleen (Robert) Hagen of Wisconsin Dells, and Donna (Thomas) Behnke of Portage, Wisconsin; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence, Harris and Raymond; sisters, Jeanette Hagen, Evelyn Beschta and Pearl Sevigny; and former husband, Joseph Kalamarz.
Helene Bloss
Helene Bloss, age 91, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, died peacefully Monday, February 4, 2008 at St. Clare Meadows Nursing Home in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 8, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Briggsville, Wisconsin with Father James Murphy celebrating. Burial will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton, Wisconsin on Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 4 to 8 P.M. and at the church on Friday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.
Helene was born November 20, 1916 in New Haven Township, Adams County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank and Nellie (Hayes) Gaffney. On November 8, 1941 she married Donald Bloss at St. Mary Catholic Church in Briggsville. She furthered her education by attending schools in River Falls, Whitewater, Westfield Normal School and eventually received her bachelor’s degree in teaching at UW–Stevens Point. From there she embarked on a wonderful 46 year teaching career where she had students that reached 3 generations and some of her students still regularly corresponded with her. She taught at the Graham, Wolf Lake and Stafford Rural Schools near Oxford, Wisconsin; Plainville and Badger Valley Rural Schools near Wisconsin Dells; and at Big Spring Rural School and the Briggsville Elementary School, retiring in 1981. The majority of her students were the younger grades and with her loving and caring manner of teaching she also became their friend which was still evident today. Helene enjoyed providing her family and friends with hospitality and she was also well known for her delicious cinnamon rolls and strawberry jam.
Helene is survived by a daughter, Kathleen (James) Beard of rural Oxford; granddaughter, Angie Herold of Wisconsin Dells; grandson, Brian (Ronnah) Beard of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; great-grandchildren, Duncan and Ambrose Beard; a brother, Harold (Velma) Gaffney of Oxford; sisters, Dorothy (Frank) Coon of Wisconsin Dells and Katherine Evans of Oxford; and a dear friend, Bea Utter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Anna Zentner and Margaret DeGarmo.

James Cornwell
James “Jim” Cornwell, age 73, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, died Sunday, February 3, 2008 at St. Clare Hospital, Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton, with Monsignor Felix Oehrlein celebrating. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery in Dellona Township, Sauk County, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held at the Picha Funeral Home on Friday, February 8, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Military rites will be accorded at the gravesite by the Harold B. Larkin American Legion Post 187 of Wisconsin Dells.
Jim was born March 6, 1934 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, the son of Leo and Mary (Pezall) Cornwell. He grew up in the Dells area and attended schools there. Following high school Jim enlisted in the U.S. Army and he was honorably discharged in October of 1956. He worked at Big Joe’s Manufacturing in Wisconsin Dells, retiring in 2000.
Jim is survived by a son, Daniel (Tiffany) of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Lisa Remington and Danny Cornwell of Tucson, Arizona, Querstin, Dylan and Kayla Cornwell of Las Vegas; great-grandsons, Christian and Ethen Remington of Tucson and great friends, Ronald and Mary Soma of Wisconsin Dells. He is loved and will be dearly missed by many. James was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bob; and sisters, Phyllis Bowen and Dorothy Cornwell.
