Audrey Henry
Audrey Henry, age 74, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center in Madison, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Presbyterian Church in Wisconsin Dells, with Reverend Steven Keller officiating. Visitation will be held at the Picha Funeral Home of Lake Delton, Wisconsin, on Sunday, September 14, 2008 from 5 to 8 P.M. and on Monday at the church from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.
Audrey was born December 30, 1933 in Faribault, Minnesota, the daughter of George and Edith (Crain) Willard. In March of 1955 she married John Henry in Wisconsin Dells. She attended secretary school at Madison Business College and from there began a career in accounting. She worked as secretary to the president at the bank of Wisconsin Dells and she did accounting work for many local Dells businesses as well as her father’s Super Dime and Dollar Corporation and at the Badger Ordnance, finally retiring in 1999 from Holiday Wholesale. Shortly after she became the secretary-treasurer of the Wisconsin Dells United Fund. Audrey was a past member of the Eastern Star and Rainbow Girls, past Girl Scout leader and cookie sales coordinator, and she worked on many election boards and on the Wisconsin Dells board of appeals.
Audrey is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Debra (Brian) Kehrmann of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Linda (Steve) Rutherford of Watertown, Wisconsin, and Judy Kraus and Mary (Dean) Stafford both of Wisconsin Dells; brothers, Dean (Patricia) Willard of Lascassas, Tennessee, George Willard, Jr. of North Fort Meyers, Florida, and John (Sue) Willard of Edmond, Oklahoma and 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Beverly Pikel
Beverly Pikel, age 73 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin died Saturday, September 13, 2008 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Memorial funeral services will be held Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Dells Delton United Methodist Church in Wisconsin Dells with Reverend Steven Miller officiating. Visitation will be held at the Dells Delton United Methodist Church on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.
Beverly was born April 11, 1935 in Taylor County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Mark and Mildred “Millie” (Downing) Burris. In July of 1951, she married Gordon Pikel in Lake Delton, Wisconsin. She was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Group, the Harold B. Larkin American Legion Post 187 Auxiliary of Wisconsin Dells, and the Lake Delton Sportsmen’s Club. Beverly also enjoyed reading and loved to play bingo. Most recently she was the president of the resident council at the Golden Living Center.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Gordon; a daughter, Cindy Langer of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin; sons, Gregory of Wisconsin Dells, Terry (Patty) of Reedsburg and Scott of Briggsville, Wisconsin; sisters, Cora (Dick) Zamzow, Lynn (Dennis) Capener and Donna (Bill) Michaels all of Wisconsin Dells; grandchildren, Tracy Dahlby, Gregory Pikel and Dylan Pikel; and great-grandchildren, Coleton Dahlby, Hunter Dahlby and Brooklyn Pikel. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Burris; sister, Elaine Warner and a grandson, Marcus Pikel.
F. Collins Hoyt
F. Collins Hoyt, age 90, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Wisconsin Dells.
Memorial funeral services will be held Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells, with Reverend Craig Wolfgram officiating. Visitation will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church on Saturday from 11 A.M. until the time of service at 12 Noon
Collins was born November 13, 1917 in Portal, North Dakota, the son of Fayette and Agnes (Hansen) Hoyt. He was married to Florence Radenz and she preceded him in death. He later married Betty Commers in October of 1969 and she preceded him in death in May of 1995. Collins worked at the Register Guard Newspaper in Eugene, Oregon, from 1949 to 1962, later moved to Palo Alto, California, and in 1967 relocated to Chicago where he worked as a typesetter for the Chicago Tribune until his retirement in 1981. At that time he and Betty moved to Fawn Lake just north of Wisconsin Dells. Collins loved to golf and was a member of the Christmas Mountain golf course.
A tale of many, from Collins. My friend’s day of passage comes, and we will share sweet sorrow. But a voice will call and Collins will say, “Guess where I’m playing tomorrow!”
Collins is survived by a dear friend, Delores Morris of Wisconsin Dells; a daughter, Michelle (Terry Moe) Hoyt of Portland, Oregon; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives; sons, John and Jim; a brother, John and sisters, Lois and Ruth.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Bethany Lutheran Church.
Marjorie Helland
Marjorie Helen Kelly Helland died peacefully at home surrounded by her family in Wisconsin Dells, on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, after a long illness. She was born on Feb. 20, 1921, in Minneapolis, MN, and was adopted as an infant and only child by her beloved parents, Harold and Magdelene Lundberg.
She graduated at the top of her class from South High, where she co-edited the school paper with her life-long friend and future sister-in-law, Berniece Kelly. She majored in journalism at the University of Minnesota, where she wrote a sports column for the Minnesota Daily.
She became the first female reporter at the St. Paul Pioneer Press and Dispatch to work outside of the society pages. As assistant publicity director for Pan-American Airlines, she lived in New York City, and traveled extensively throughout post war Europe promoting the expansion of trans-Atlantic routes. She married hotelier William J. (Bill) Kelly in Nov., 1951 and worked alongside him in the family business for the next 15 years at the Androy Hotel in Superior, WI, and the Dellview Hotel and Resort in Lake Delton, WI. After a move to Hopkins, MN, she worked for Roland Minda & Associates and then opened her own public relations firm, Kelly Communications.
After Bill’s death in 1980, she married Attorney Hans O. Helland of Wisconsin Dells, WI, in December 1982, joining two families that had been close friends for many years. She and Hans enjoyed witnessing the growth of 12 grandchildren, life along the Wisconsin River, traveling and spending holidays with their family. Marjorie was a life-long volunteer as a Brownie Leader, MN Chapter President of the Public Relations Society of America (and a mentor to many young professionals), chair of the publicity committee for the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra Ball, a board member of the Kilbourn Public Library and 36th President of the Legal Auxiliary of Wisconsin. She was awarded the IWANOM (“I was a newspaperman once myself”) Medal by the Twin Cities Newspaper Guild. She gave her time and expertise to the Minnesota Opera, SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) awareness and charitable organizations helping unwed mothers and served with Hans on the Advisory Board for the University of Wisconsin Paul Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center. Marjorie was a devout Catholic, an avid reader and bridge player who had a large circle of friends, a keen intellect and a sense of adventure and curiosity about the world, which for her remained centered around her husband and family.
She is survived by her husband Hans O. Helland; two daughters, Kathleen Kelly of Yarmouth, ME, Peggy Kelly (Christopher Van Wagner) of Madison; six stepchildren, Karen (Paul) Tate of Pocatello, ID, Peter Helland of South Bend, IN, Kristin Helland of Wisconsin Dells, Eric (Mary) Helland of Wisconsin Dells, Jon (Jodee) Helland of Madison, and Kai (Mike) Mulford of Rockford, IL; 12 grandchildren, Norah, Daniel, Mollie, Bill, Emily, Mary Kate, Max, Hans, Josie, Will, Cam and Olivia; nieces and nephews; and a favorite cousin, Lyle Dorfner, of Minneapolis, MN.
The family wishes to thank Dr. James Cleary and staff of the UW Oncology Dept., the Home Health United Hospice Care staff, and Malgorzata “Maggie” Profus, Marjorie’s loving caregiver.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. CECILIA’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 Oak Street, in Wisconsin Dells at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 with Msgr. Felix Oehrlein and Fr. Eugene “Bud” Hollfelder concelebrating. Visitation will be held at the church from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 26, 2008 and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m.

William Timmons
William Timmons, age 74, of Rock Springs, Wisconsin, died Monday, September 29, 2008 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 3, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at The Holy Family Catholic Church in LaValle, Wisconsin, with Father Larry Bowens officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.
William was born February 4, 1934 in Gary, Indiana, the son of Edwin and Esther (Biermeier) Timmons. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1955. In 1984 he married Janice Gorman in Mauston, Wisconsin.
William is survived by his wife, Janice; stepsons, Randy (Ann) Moore of Tomah, Wisconsin, and Robert (Julie) Moore of Des Moines, Iowa; sisters, Mary (Bernard) Anderson and Julane Lunde both of LaValle; grandchildren, Bryan, Ryan, Ebonie, Tasha and Kayla and a special friend, Sally Matthes of Spring Green, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roy, Edwin, Jr., Roland and Robert, and a sister, Bernice.
Norberta Ryczewicz
Norberta Ryczewicz, age 89, of Montgomery, Alabama, formerly of Briggsville, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the South Haven Health and Rehabilitation in Montgomery.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 3, 2008 at 2:30 P.M. at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Briggsville, with Father James Murphy celebrating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church on Monday from 1 P.M. until the time of service at 2:30 P.M.
Norberta was born January 26, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of August and Martha (Brandt) Malin. In December of 1945 she married Stanley Ryczewicz in Chicago. They lived in Chicago and eventually moved to the Briggsville area and lived on the north shore of Mason Lake.
Norberta is survived by sons, Stanley (Elin) of Bartlett, Illinois, and Michael of Oxford, Wisconsin; a daughter, Barbara (Edward) Deuter of Alabama; 6 grandchildren; and a sister, Leona (Ted) Grbacki of San Diego, California. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley and a sister, Ethel Miles.
Lorraine Bohlinger
Lorraine Bohlinger, age 86, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, died Monday, October 27, 2008 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Memorial funeral services will be held Friday, October 31, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Dells Delton United Methodist Church in Wisconsin Dells with Reverend Steven A. Miller officiating. Visitation will be held at the Dells Delton United Methodist Church on Friday from 9 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.
Lorraine was born January 21, 1922 in Helenville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Fred and Frieda (Walther) Amenda. Most of her growing up years were spent in Milwaukee and she graduated from Custer High School where she was an honor student. She later attended LaCrosse State Teachers College. During World War 2 she worked in the testing and engineering departments at Cutler Hammer in Milwaukee. She married Robert Sparks and had three children. John E. Sparks of Door County, Wisconsin, Judith Ann Shandor of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and Bill Sparks who died in 1995. In 1968 she married Warren Bohlinger. This was a wonderful union and they did a great deal of traveling. For many years they have spent six months of the year in their home in Tucson, Arizona. Lorraine was a den mother, Sunday school teacher, and a faithful member of the Dells Delton United Methodist Church where she was active on many committees. When she was president of the United Methodist Women she initiated many projects which substantially helped in paying off the church mortgage. She loved to cook, entertain and do oil paintings.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband, Warren; son, John (Midge) Sparks; daughter, Judith Ann (Frank) Shandor and step daughter, Penny (Neal) Bohlinger Ragatz; grandchildren, Lindsay Ann Shandor and Jeff Ragatz; great-granddaughter, Madleine; brothers, Wilmer “Bill” Amenda, Donald (Deloris) Amenda and Ervin (Theonia) Amenda. She will also be missed by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister; first husband, Robert Sparks; brothers, Lawrence, Arnold and Emroy Amenda; and sisters-in-law, Joan and Arlene Amenda.
