Lyle Bushweiler

Lyle Bushweiler, age 71, died early Saturday morning, November 1, 2008 at his rural Lyndon Station home. Lyle was a lifelong Wisconsin resident, born in Forest county and residing in Milwaukee and Green Bay for much of his life.

While in Milwaukee he worked at Harley Davidson where he met his wife, Lore. After starting his family in a Milwaukee suburb, he moved them to rural Green Bay to enjoy a quieter life with greater outdoors opportunities. While in Green Bay, Lyle worked in the insurance industry with Wisconsin Employers Group and American Medical Security. Lyle enjoyed outdoor activities including softball, fishing and hunting, which he shared with his family and friends.

After retiring, Lyle moved to Lyndon Station and enjoyed time with his family both at home and away on hunting or fishing trips. He was able to spend time enjoying both outdoor activities and watching football, golf, tennis and auto racing with family and friends. Lyle formed many personal friendships with coworkers and brought them into his extended family. Lyle was always willing to reach out to friends in need, or lighten their days with his unique sense of humor and his still-life artwork. Recently Lyle battled several ailments and eventually needed continuous care, but he still managed to make new friends with his caregivers and share his life with them. We will all miss him, especially his family, and are thankful we had the time to spend with him.

As a final act Lyle donated his body for training medical students, so there will be a memorial service in lieu of a funeral for him. The service is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 1pm with Conway Picha Funeral Home of Lyndon Station hosting the gathering. The family would ask, in lieu of flowers or gifts, that memorials would be given in honor of Lyle to the Cancer Research Institute, American Cancer Society or another charitable organization.
