Wlodzimierz "Walter" Lagowski
Walter Lagowski, age 62, of rural Mauston, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at the Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 6, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, with Father Ronald Zinkle, S.J. officiating. Walter will be cremated following the traditional services.
Walter was born February 17, 1940 in Poland, the son of Marian and Genowefa (Bajek) Lagowski. He had served in the Polish Military and worked as an automobile machinist.
Walter is survived by daughters, Margaret Bingier of Clarendon Hills, Illinois, and Lidia Reilly of Glendale Heights, Illinois; brothers, Jerry (Zofia) Lagowski of Bensonville, Illinois, Victor (Elizabeth) Lagowski of Des Plaines, Illinois; step brother, Mark (Marianna) Lagowski of Poland; sister, Anna (Joseph) Babka of Poland; stepsister, Elizabeth (Andrew) Molenda of Poland and 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home on Sunday from 12 Noon until the time of service at 2:00 P.M.
Margaret Townley
Margaret Townley, age 97, of Mauston, Wisconsin, died Sunday, October 13, 2002 at the Hess Memorial Hospital of Mauston.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 18, 2002 at 11:30 A.M. at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, with Reverend Richard Bonney officiating. Burial will be at the Lyndon Station Village Cemetery.
Margaret was born December 11, 1904 in Oconto, Wisconsin, the daughter of Francis and Wilhelmina (Yanke) Delorme. In June of 1940, she married Elvin Townley in Wadena, Minnesota. He preceded her in death in June of 1998. Margaret moved from Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Mauston, in 1983. She stayed active with the local senior citizens groups and A.A.R.P.
Margaret is survived by her son, Jay of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin; granddaughter, Elizabeth (William) Schumann; grandchildren, Kayla, Melissa and Taylor and a sister, Georgiana Delorme. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Jack, Ben and Tex; a sister, Beryle and daughter-in-law, Violet Townley.
Visitation will be held at the Conway Picha Funeral Home on Friday from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service at 11:30 A.M.
DeWayne Schweinler
SGM. U.S. Army Ret., DeWayne Schweinler, age 78, of Mauston, Wisconsin, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 17, 2002 in his home surrounded by his loved ones after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial funeral services will be held Monday, October 21, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wilton Faith Congregational Church, 502 Enderby Street in Wilton, Wisconsin, with Reverend Carl Rogers officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. According to his wishes, DeWayne has been cremated.
DeWayne was born July 26, 1924 in Neillsville, Wisconsin, the son of Dr. Fredrick and Lillian (Creviere) Schweinler. DeWayne loved his country and spent 26 years in the U.S. Army, serving during World War 2 and overseas in Germany. Among his duties, he assisted in the holocaust cleanup. He retired from the Army National Guard as Sergeant Major in 1984. Many knew DeWayne as a greeter in the Mauston K-Mart after his retirement. He touched many lives. In 1948, he married Alice (Pat) Zerbel in Neillsville, spending 54 years together. He loved his wife more than anything in this world, and she is the reason that he fought the battle against his disease for as long as he did. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be truly missed. “We Love You PaPa!”
DeWayne is survived by his loving wife, Alice (Pat); sons, Gary (Kim) of Mauston and Mark (Helen) of Waukesha, Wisconsin; daughters, Patty (Donn) Wiest of Oshkosh, Wisconsin and Debbie (Robert) Anderson of Wilton, Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also many nieces, nephews and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Kwong, Dr. Kim, and Dr. Larry Boehme of Gundersen Clinic – LaCrosse and also Hospice Touch of Tomah, Wisconsin, for all there help and support.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Faith Congregational Church of Wilton or to the Hospice Touch of Tomah, Wisconsin.
Amy Mallory
Amy Mallory, age 46, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at St. Clare Hospital of Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, with Reverend Dave Bauman officiating. Burial will be at Dexterville Cemetery in Dexterville, Wisconsin.
Amy was born June 10, 1956 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the daughter of Godfrey and Ruth (Pedersen) Mallory. With her family, she moved to the Dells area in 1970. She had worked at the Badger Ordnance and most recently was employed as a slot technician at HoChunk Casino. She loved animals and enjoyed being with her family and friends.
Amy is survived by her brothers; Peter (Patti) of Baraboo, Douglas (Charlotte) of Tomah, Wisconsin, Matthew (Juanita) of Millston, Wisconsin and Brian of Racine; nieces and nephews, David Dotson and Jared, Shannon, Stephanie, Janna and Ethan Mallory; a great-niece, Sheyanna Dotson and great-nephew, Colby Mallory. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Edward "Pete" Cauley
Edward “Pete” Cauley, age 79, of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, died Friday, November 8, 2002 at his family’s farm.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lyndon Station with Father Ronald Zinkle, S.J. officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Kildare Township, of Juneau County, Wisconsin.
Pete was born November 6, 1923 the son of Edward and Katheryn (Sweeney) Cauley. In 1957, he married Delores Mitchell in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death in December of 1997. Pete farmed for many years and even though retired, stayed busy on the farm.
Pete is survived by his son, Jim (Carol) of Lyndon Station; daughters, Linda (Pete) Lochner of Cary, Illinois, Colleen (Dan) Bradley of Baraboo, Wisconsin and Cathy (Fud) Marking of Portage, Wisconsin; sisters, Mary Mooney of Lyndon Station and Dorothy (Kenneth) Bortz of Portage, Wisconsin; 9 grandchildren; sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, John, James and Gerald; and an infant son.
Visitation will be held at the Conway Picha Funeral Home of Lyndon Station on Monday from 4 to 8 P.M. with the rosary recited at 6:30 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:30 P.M.
Loretta Sima
Loretta Sima, age 90, of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, died Sunday, November 17, 2002 at her residence.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 22, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lyndon Station with Father Ronald Zinkle, S.J. officiating. Loretta was cremated according to her wishes.
Loretta was born February 13, 1912 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Roubik) Sima. She was a travel agent for many years in Chicago, and had traveled the world.
Loretta is survived by a niece, Marie (Nolan) Murray of Orland Park, Illinois and many other great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edward, James, George and John; and sisters, Agnes, Lillian and Helen.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Friday from 1 P.M. until the time of service at 2 P.M.
Clifford Lowe
Clifford Lowe, Chee-mani-ga (Walking With Thunder), age 83, of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2003 at his residence with his family by his side.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin with Reverend Roger Wentz officiating. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.
Clifford was born July 2, 1919 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, the son of Martin and Liza (Decorah) Lowe. He attended Neillsville Indian School and graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1941. On August 14, 1941 he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and was an Aerial Engineer. During his service, he received the Army Air Force Air Crew Member Badge (Wings). His decorations and citations included: American Defense Service Ribbon, Victory Medal-American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with three bronze stares, two overseas service bars, one service stripe and the Good Conduct Medal. On February 2, 1952, he married Della Wabshoggin.
Clifford attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls for post-graduate study in law courses in 1971-72. He also graduated from Greer College in Chicago, in Diesel Mechanics.
Clifford was very active in sports. His favorite sport was baseball. He pitched for the Lake Delton minor league baseball team for a few years. He was a southpaw and a good one at that.
Clifford leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Della Lowe, and children Debra Jeanne Lowe and Patricia A. (Michael) Lowe-Ennis, five grandchildren: Jason, Gina, John, Jillian and Oliver; seven great-grandchildren: Paige, Mckensey, Madison, Indya, Amira, Brandon and Camille; brothers Raymond Lowe of Trempleau, Chloris Lowe Sr. of New Lisbon, Truman Lowe of Madison and three sisters, Arvina Thayer of Madison, Irene Keenan of LaCrosse and Lorraine Fiscus of Whiting, Iowa. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Leslie; parents; and two sisters Mildred Lowe and Lucille Rajue.
Visitation will be held at Conway Picha Funeral Home on Friday, January 31, 2003 from 4 to 8 P.M. and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M.
