Lorelee L. Sienkowski
January 24, 1945 - April 11, 2020

Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt, Seamstress, Camp Cook, EMT, Rainbow Girl, Friend to Animals, Friend to all.

Lorelee has left this life to be reunited with her daughter Janina, the many animals she fostered, family and friends she has had thru her life.

She is survived by her husband Bob, Son John and his wife, her brother Jim and his wife, sister Pat and her husband, niece Jennifer, nephews Doug and Craig and their families, grandchildren Logan, Frank, Briana, Danielle and her husband Owen, great-grandchild Oliver and many four-footed children at home.

Lorelee loved sewing and could make many things with only a photo for reference.

Throughout her years she enjoyed family, friends, camping and living history re-enacting.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time with friends and extended family both in Wisconsin and Connecticut.

A HUGE THANK YOU to the staff of UW-Madison Hospital ICU and B6 Palliative Care Units for the care and compassion shown to Lorelee and her family.

The family requests no flowers be sent, instead donations in her memory may be made to the animal shelter of choice.

Burial will be private.

Amanda McNelly
February 25, 1983 - June 04, 2020

Amanda McNelly, 37, of Portage, WI, died unexpectedly on June 4th, 2020.

Amanda was born February 25th, 1983 in Madison, WI, to Kelly Stahl and Richard McNelly.

She graduated from Poynette High School in 2001. She lived in the Portage, WI, area and recently moved to Mora, MN, where she resided at the time of her death with her boyfriend Daniel Anderson.

She's survived by her sons Shawn, 10, and Levi, 3; parents Kelly (Larry) and Richard (Susie); siblings, Josh, Nicole, and Andy (Anonglak); nieces and nephews Isabelle, Ivy, Jasmine, Owen and Pim; maternal grandmother Jean Greenwood; her aunt Kathy Schroeder and her other extended aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Don Pelky and paternal grandparents James and Patricia McNelly.
Great-grandparents Ken and Julia Greenwood.

Don’t cry for me, I am not gone.
My soul is at rest, my heart lives on.
Light a candle for me to see, and hold on to my memory.
Save your tears for I’m still here, by your side throughout the years.

Ronald R Chase
November 10, 1949 - April 19, 2020

Ronald (Ron) R. Chase – Portage – Age 70, passed away on April 19, 2020. Ron was born on November 10, 1949 to Eva (Koebler) and Rodney Chase in Rockford, Illinois.

Ron was a long-time resident of Portage. He worked at a wide variety of jobs through his life. Ron was a Bronze Star recipient for his time served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. One of Ron’s favorite past times was spending time at Ho Chunk. Ron was a very generous man always looking to give others thoughtful gifts.

Ron is preceded in death by his mother, father and 2 step fathers.

Ron is survived by his siblings Robert, Randy, Rick (Tracy), Rodney (Debbie) and Rhonda (Kevin) Barker; his nephews Tony, Nathan and Brad; his nieces Angela, Michele, Erin and Ashley; his great niece Ashlyn and many cousins and friends.

A private ceremony will be held at a future date.

We would like to thank Agrace Hospice, the staff at the Columbia Health Care Center and the staff at the VA Hospital in Madison for their loving care.

Thomas C. Winter
August 23, 1941 - August 11, 2016

Thomas Charles Winter, age 74, died on August 11, 2016 in his home. Tom was born on August 23, 1941 to Elmer and Veronica (Haley) Winter.

On June 17, 1961 he married Kay Baxter in Emmetsburg Iowa.

Tom enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors, he enjoyed camping, golf and just watching the wildlife.

He enjoyed reading, later in life he did woodcarving, and liked to travel. He and Kay spent many years wintering in Texas. Most of all Tom enjoyed spending time with family and his grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his wife: Kay of Portage; Son: Scott (Linda) Winter of Waxahachie, TX; Daughters: Michele (Scott) McGettigan of Verona, WI; Terri (Steve) Gust of Verona, WI; Grandchildren; Travis Winter; Heather (Robert) Kennedy; Emily Gust and Erin Gust; one great-grandchild Corbin Kennedy. Also surviving is a brother Jim (Katie) Winter of Great Falls, MT; a brother-in-law Ralph Patch of Wolf Point, MT; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert, sister Sue Patch and a brother Steve Winter.

A mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday August 16, 2016 in St. Mary of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portage. Father Gary Krahenbuhl will be officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be given in Tom's name to St. Mary Catholic Church.

Ashley Vasquez
May 17, 1990 - June 25, 2020

Ashley Vasquez age 30 of Portage, WI, died on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at the UW Hospital in Madison, WI.

Ashley was born in Wild Rose, WI, on May 17, 1990 to Tomas Montes and Maria de la Luz Hogquist.

Ashley will always be remembered as a person who loved everyone, she enjoyed spending time with her children. Her children and family were the most important to her. She enjoyed scary movies and loved a good comedy.

Ashley is survived by her children: Eva and Ethan Smith; Mother Maria (stepfather Ryan) Hogquist of La Crosse, WI; Father Tomas Montes of Texas; Brothers Israel Vasquez of Wausau; Ryan Hogquist and Kevin Hogquist of La Crosse, Grandmother Maricela Ibanez, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ashley is preceded in death by her Grandfather Juan G. Vasquez and two uncles Christopher Hogquist and Martine Vasquez.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020 at the Kratz Funeral Home in Portage, WI. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home at 302 E. Conant St. in Portage.

Ashley struggled with addiction for many years, the last few years it was heroin that held her prisoner. She hid all her pain behind a big beautiful smile. With everything she was going through she would still encourage those struggling to keep fighting, they can do it, take one day at a time.

Ashley made the decision herself to become an organ donor. Even in death, she would still help as many people as she could. She is a hero!

“Goodbye for now my baby girl, we will be together again one day. Until then I will treasure the memories of you, and I will see you in my dreams. I miss you and I love you so much.”

Mavis Solitaire
June 27, 1932 - June 22, 2020

Mavis B. Solitaire, age 87, of Rural Portage died on, June 22, 2020 at Divine Savior Health Care in Portage, WI.

A Memorial Service for Mavis will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020 at the Kratz Funeral Home in Portage.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery.

Gladys Nelson
April 06, 1930 - August 19, 2016

Oconto Falls/Portage - Gladys Paske Nelson passed away on August 19th, 2016 at Atrium Nursing Home in Oconto Falls, WI, surrounded by her family. Gladys was born on April 6, 1930.

She leaves to morn one son, Christopher (Lori) Nelson and granddaughter Lexia Nelson.

She was preceded by two husbands and son, Ronald Mohr.

Service will be held at St John Lutheran Church in Portage, WI, on Friday, August 26th.

Visitation is at 10:00 am with Service at 11:00 am.
