Catherine M. Cleven
KENDALL, Wis. - Catherine M. Cleven, 43, of rural Kendall, died Monday, October 6, 1997 at her home. She was born May 15, 1954 to Albert and Esther (Breitenfield) Leis in St. Joseph Hospital, Hillsboro. She attended Kendall Elementary School and was a member of the graduating class of 1972 at Royall High School. She was united in marriage to Conrad A. Cleven on November 12, 1988 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church at Kendall. She worked as a Purchasing Agent at Walker Stainless Equipment Inc. in Elroy. She was a member of the Sweetheart Swingers Square Dance Club. Catherine was an active and faithful member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church at Kendall.
In addition to her husband, Conrad, she is survived by her parents, Albert and Esther Leis of Kendall; three brothers, Robert (Margaret), Ron (Patty) and Jim, all of Kendall; three sisters, Sister Esther Leis of Rhinelander, Ann (Christopher) Solchenberger of Cazenovia, and Theresa Leis of Kendall; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glenn and Jennette Cleven of Kendall; two brothers-in-law, Russell Cleven of Marinette and Roger Cleven of Kendall; three sisters-in-law, Anita (Terry) Wilcox of Mauston, Heidi (Conrad) Saupe of Shelton, Wash., and Rebecca (Rodger) Pratt of Westby; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a brother, Roger.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 1997 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Kendall. Rev. Fred Fedke will officiate. Burial will be in the Glendale Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Smith-Nelson Funeral Home in Kendall; and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Marie M. Arzt
KENDALL, Wis. - Marie M. Arzt, 94, of Kendall, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997 in St. Joseph Nursing Home, Hillsboro. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kendall. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with prayer services at 7 p.m.; and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday, both at the church. The Smith-Nelson Funeral Home, Kendall, is assisting with arrangments.

Mary A. Twite
RUSHFORD, Minn. - Mary A. Twite, age 79, of Rushford, died Tuesday, October 7, 1997 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. She was born on April 24, 1918 in Milwaukee, Wis., to Alex and Anna Lamek. She was raised in Milwaukee. She married John Twite pm August 4, 1944 in Milwaukee. Mary operated Fiddler's Green and a grocery/meat market with her husband in Milwaukee. She then operated the Shellhorn near Brownsville, Minn., with her husband and later with her son. She also lived in Dodge Center and Rushford. She enjoyed being with her many friends and loyal customers. Mary was the joy of her children and grandchildren and will be lovingly missed. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rushford.
She is survived by two daughters, Julann (Glenn) Heiller of Woodland, Minn., and Mary (Phillip) Hoiland of Rushford, Minn.; one son, Terrance (Bonnie) Twite of Dodge Center, Minn.; and nine grandchildren, Henry and his wife Debbie, Chris, Krin, Hayley, Tylar John, Manya Jewel, Andrew James, Leah Jane and Nick Joseph. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son and two brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rushford with the Rev. William Kulas officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Hoff Funeral Homes-Cook Rushford Chapel, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.There will also be a visitation one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

Bernice T. Howe
HOLMEN, Wis. - Bernice T. Howe, 88, of Holmen, Wis., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 1997, at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse.
She was born on December 15, 1908, in rural Viroqua, Wis., to Hans and Tillie (Nedland) Oftedahl. She married Everett F. Howe on November 18, 1929. He died on December 3, 1981.
Bernice is survived by a daughter, Ruby (Neal) Gross of La Crosse; two grandsons, Gary (Carol) Gross of La Crosse and Mark (Tami) Gross of rural Onalaska, Wis.; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Kristina and Emily; a sister, Frances (John) Aasen of Westby, Wis.; and a sister-in-law, Clarice Bagstad Oftedahl of Westby. In addition to her husband, Everett, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Willis Oftedahl and two sisters, Hazel Oftedahl and Sadie (Kenneth) Ryden.
Bernice was the sweetest and dearest lady to all who knew her. She was ``Grandma'' to many. She will be sadly missed by all her family and all the special friends who touched her life. She so wanted to sleep, may she finally rest in peace. Her love will be with us forever.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 1997, at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse. The Rev. Luther Borgen will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Camille Monique Coppage
BOCA RATON-DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Camille Monique Coppage, 36, of Boca Raton-Delray Beach, Fla., died Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, after a long battle with cancer.
She had been a South Florida area resident since 1979 formerly of Woodale and Oaklawn, Ill., where she was born August 20, 1961. Camille was a member of numerous Equestrian organizations; she was an avid rider, accomplished Hunt Seat; Dressage Rider; and Horse Show participant. Camille was an active member of Experimental Air Craft Association; and Warbirds of America, Inc. (EAA); she was an active air show participant and a Confederate Air Force Air Show Participant, and she was a member of Congregational Church of Boca Raton.
Camille was predeceased by her loving mother, Edythe Ann Hanson Coppage in 1974 and by her maternal grandparents, Clara Whitehead and Lester Hanson, former residents of Rockland, Wis.; and paternal grandparents, Christine Morris and Cy Coppage.
She is survived by her father, Captain John Coppage (NWA) and stepmother, JoAnn Bocci Coppage (F.A.-NWA) both of Arizona; aunt, Dee Hanson Coppage of Colorado; Uncles, Douglas Hanson and Tom (Linda) Hanson; cousins, Scott, Andrea and Heidi Hanson; second cousins, Mykala Camille and Tristin Hanson, all of Wisconsin; Uncle, Cy (Loretta) Coppage of California; cousins, Pamela Coppage, Steve Coppage and Jon (Carrie) Coppage; second cousin, Chad Coppage.
Memorial services were held in Boca Raton for Camille.
Local funeral services for Camille will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 1997, at the Fossum Funeral Home in Bangor. Pastor Henry Mattson will officiate. Burial will be in the Rockland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Fossum Funeral Home in Bangor from 12 till time of services on Saturday.

Clara Ellis
Clara Ellis, 91, of La Crosse, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997, in her home.
Funeral services are tentatively scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at St. James the Less Catholic Church.
Complete arrangements will be announced by the Blaschke Funeral Home of La Crosse.

Lucille V. Dahl
Lucille V. Dahl, 87, of La Crosse, died Tuesday, September 30, 1997, in her home.
She was born in Ettrick, Wis., on January 28, 1910, to Oscar and Ida (Olson) Thompson. She married Alvin Dahl and he preceded her in death on August 29, 1986. She worked for the La Crosse Auto-Lite Company until its closing in 1959.
Lucille is survived by a daughter Anne Garey of La Crosse; a son, Roger Dahl of Holmen; a sister, Vivian Kirkhorn of La Crosse; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; a daughter; a sister, Mildred; and a brother, Forest Thompson.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 3, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church. The Reverend Philip Borleske will officiate. Burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
The Dickinson Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Elizabeth Moore Pengra
SPARTA, Wis. - Elizabeth Moore Pengra, a resident of the Morrow Memorial Home, born March 5, 1914, in Oakland, California, died September 30, 1997, at the age of 83.
She was raised in Oakland and united in marriage to Charles Oliver Pengra of Frazee Village, Minn., on October 30, 1943. She moved to the Sparta area in 1995.
She was a retired school teacher of 28 years, a member of the National Society of the daughters of the American Revolution, an honorary lifetime member of the San Francisco Bay Scottish Terrier Club and a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Sparta.
She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Jean Webster of Walnut Creek, Calif.; her two daughters, Lynda Carol Kardeke of Sparta and Ann Marie Pengra of Sparks, Nev.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services and inurnment will be held October 10 at the Chapel of Memories in Oakland, California.
The Lanham-Kann Funeral Home, Sparta, is in charge of local arrangements.
