Stanley F. Vidlak
Stanley F. "Buzz" Vidlak, 82, Paddock Lake, died Saturday, April 13, 2002, at the Grande Prairie Health and Rehab Center, Kenosha.
He was born May 21, 1919, in Chicago, the son of the late Joseph and Luella (Michael) Vidlak.
On Feb. 4, 1967, he married Margaret Hora.
Verna E. Sugrue
Verna E. Sugrue, 86, Richmond, formerly of Chicago, died Saturday, April 13, 2002, at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry, Ill.
She was born June 13, 1915, in Chicago, the daughter of William and Louise Aubert Gieser.
On Aug. 26, 1939, in Chicago, she married John F. Sugrue. He died on July 14, 1967.
She graduated from Lakeview High School in Chicago, then worked as an assembler for Hallsom Block Co. (Playskool) in Chicago for 25 years, retiring in 1978.
She loved crafts and spent many hours with needlepoint and other hand work.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews, several cousins including Audrey (Walter) Barber, Richmond, a sister-in-law Alice Gieser, Round Lake, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Ray and George Gieser.
Funeral services were on April 16, at Memory Gardens Chapel in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, Ill. with the Rev. Jerry Walton officiating. Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.

Phyllis G. Oates
Phyllis G. Oates, 74, Twin Lakes, died April 12, 2002, at her home.
She was born in Illinois on Aug. 17, 1927, to William and Margaret (Burke) Gibbons.
She was a homemaker who lived in Twin Lakes for nearly 20 years, and in Northbrook, Ill., previously.
Survivors include daughters, Kathleen A. (R. James) O'Boyle, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mary Noel Oates, Mundelein, Ill.; sons, Robert E. (Eileen) Oates and Charles C. Oates, both of Twin Lakes; grandchildren, Robert, Colleen and Ryan; step-grandchildren, Sandra, Lawrence and Lenard Hart; sisters, Barbara (the late William) Fitzgerald, Naperville, Ill. and Susanne Gibbons, Glenview, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Oates in 1985; a brother, William B. (Patricia) Gibbons; and Rosemary L. Gibbons.
Funeral Mass was April 16, at St. Norbert Church in Northbrook, Ill. Interment was in All Saints Cemetery Mausoleum in Des Plaines, Ill. Lawrence J. Marino
Lawrence J. Marino, 85, Coral Springs and Venice, Fla., formerly New Munster, died April 6, 2002, at his home.
He was born in Chicago, Ill. on July 15, 1916, to the late Anthony and Orzali Marino. He attended Chicago schools.
On May 1, 1934, he married Grace Heim. They lived in Chicago until 1954, when they moved to New Munster, where owned and operated Marino's Restaurant until moving to Florida in the early 1970s. She preceded him in death in 1997.
Survivors include sons, Lawrence Jr. (Janet), North Carolina, Anthony (Marge) and Dennis, both New Munster; daughters, Phyllis (Richard) Lipinski, Joann (James) Reesey and Linda Watson, all Coral Springs; a sister, Ann Miller, Hart, Mich.; companion, Esther Scherrer, New Munster; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was further preceded in death by sisters, Josephine and Victoria; step-brothers, Philip, John and Angelo; a stepsister, Christina; a daughter-in-law, Heather Marino; and a grandson, Michael King.
Eliza Vancil
Eliza Vancil, 97, Burlington, died April 9, 2002, at Mount Carmel Medical and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in McClure, Ill., on Jan. 13, 1905, to the late William Calvin and Flora Mae (Verble) Burchyett. Her early life was spent in McClure, where she received her education.
On April 28, 1923, she married Clarence J. Vancil in McClure, where they lived following marriage. They moved to Burlington in 1947. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1977.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Apostolic Faith Church, Sturtevant, and enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include daughters, Irene (Roy) Rose, Union Grove, Lela (Pat) Rogers, Marathon Keys, Fla., Norma Fierce, Hawaii, and Shirley (Donald) Fell, Burlington; a son-in-law, Darrell Fell, Burlington; daughter-in-law, Lois, Florida; a brother, Lester (Mary) Burchyett, McClure; a sister, Hazel Gearing, McClure; sisters-in-law, Virginia and Edna Burchyett, both Sturtevant; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by a son, William Vancil; a daughter, Cora Fell; sisters, Ella Kaufman, Zella Burchyett, Mary Wamake and Gladys Schlichting; and brothers, Leon, Calvin and Lloyd Burchyett.
Funeral services were held April 12 at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. The Revs. Mark Cobb and Mark Erickson officiated. Burial was in West Lawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Mount Carmel Medical and Rehabilitation Center.
Glenn O. Osman
A memorial service for Glenn O. Osman, 86, who died Feb. 28, 2002, will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 8720 368th Ave. (hwy. O and F), Twin Lakes, on Saturday, April 13 at 11:30 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to either Hospice Alliance or Messiah Lutheran Church.

Shelby D. Burgess
Shelby D. Burgess, 65, Hebron, formerly of Richmond, died April 5, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock.
She was born Feb. 2, 1937, in Sheffield, Ala., the daughter of Samuel and Cecile Matlock Bracken.
On June 26, 1976, in Chicago, she married Bill Burgess.
She loved dolls and had an extensive collection of many different types.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Wanda (Sam) Adkins, Deborah (Michael) Vazquez, and Sandra Stoneburner, all of Hebron; a son, Anthony (Anna) Stoneburner, Chicago; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her mother, Cecile Robertson, Stone Park, Ill.; sisters, Helen Bracken, Colorado Springs, Colo., Barbara (Larry) Humbracht, Bartlett, Ill., Carlene (Mike) Brumfield, Naperville, Ill., Etoy Bailey, Alabama; and a brother Raymond (Sharon) Bracken, Berwyn, Ill.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Stoneburner; a grandson, Christopher Stoneburner; her father; her step-father, Calvin Robertson; a sister, Evonne Barnes; and a brother, Orlando Bracken.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 9 at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home in Hebron with the Rev. Dr. Martin Alphonse officiating. Interment was in Hebron Cemetery.

Dolores E. McGuire
Dolores E. McGuire, 76, Camp Lake, died April 2, 2002, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee.
She was born Jan. 15, 1926, in Chicago, to the late Karl and Barbara (Kapche) Majus.
She moved to Elmhurst, Ill., in 1955; to California in 1981; and to Wisconsin in 1989.
On Dec. 2, 1950, in Chicago, she married Robert McGuire. He preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1995.
Survivors include sons, Michael (Carolyn) McGuire, Camp Lake, and Timothy (Dolores) McGuire, Mission Viejo, Calif.; daughters, Maureen (Jeffrey) Basile and Kathleen McCormick, both of St. Charles, Ill., and Teresa (Joseph) Basile, Villa Park, Ill.; a brother, William Majus, Calif.; sisters, Violet (Thomas) Welch, Ariz., Mary Joan (Al) Procop, Geraldine (Marion) Satterfield, and Kathleen Allen, all of Calif.; ten grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was further preceded in death by a brother, Carl Majus, and a sister, Barbara Powers.
Funeral services with Mass of Christian Burial was April 6 at Holy Name Cemetery.
