Jan Rae Annis
Jan Rae Annis, 59, of Kenosha, died Friday (Dec. 8, 2000) at her residence.
Born March 13, 1941, in Racine, she was the daughter of August B. and Jenet F. (Stoddard) Bassing II. She was educated in Racine schools but spent most of her life in Kenosha County.
She was an assembler, working at Ameteck-Lamb Electric, last working on Dec. 6, 1996. She was also an Illinois Lottery agent for five years and a bartender at the Riverside Inn in Wilmot for 61/2 years.
She was a member of the Wilmot Fire Department Auxiliary, the Kenosha Fire Department Auxiliary and the Kenosha County Fire and Rescue Association. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
Surviving are a son, Harold J. (Kelly) Johnson of Beach Park, Ill.; a daughter, Jenet Early of Mddleburg, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Jeannie (Joel) Peters of Wilmot; two stepbrothers, Milton McGregor of Racine and Harold McGregor of Redgranite; a sister, Bertie Hall of Shelbyville, Ky.; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Gordon R. McGregor; and a brother, August B. Bassing III.

Dorothy M. Burmeister
Dorothy M. Burmeister, 90, of Kenosha, died Saturday (Feb. 17, 2001) at Brookside Care Center.
Born Jan. 28, 1911, in Chilton, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Schabel) Kautzer. She attended schools in Chilton and was a graduate of Chilton High School.
On July 17, 1935, in Chilton, she married Fred Burmeister. He died May 10, 1998.
She came to Kenosha in 1946 and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, the Junior Schubert Club, Shriners, Kenosha Symphony, Republican Women and the Woman's Club of Kenosha. She was active in the Parent-Teacher Association.
She enjoyed arts, crafts and antiques, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Surviving are a son, Charles "Chuck" (Carol) Burmeister of Kenosha; two daughters, Barbara Burtch of Coloma and Marikay (Leo) Chiappetta of Kenosha; three sisters, Jenny (Kautzer) Koehler of Sheboygan, Evelyn Brock of Joplin, Mo., and Rosie Showacy of Vancouver, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Mark and Lester Kautzer; and two sisters, Helen Endries and Frances Darkow.

James G. Austin
James Gilbert Austin, 66, of Corinth, Texas, died Saturday, (Feb. 17, 2001) at Denton Regional Medical Center, Denton, Texas.
Born Oct. 28, 1934 in Wise County, Va., he was the son of James E. and Daisy (Dickinson) Austin.
A member of St. Mark's Catholic Church, he retired from A.M. General as vice president of manufacturing.
Survivors include his wife, Frances C. Austin of Corinth; three daughters, Terri Marchefski of Frisco, Texas, Diane Casasanto of Watervliet, Mich., and Patricia Austin of Austin, Texas; a son, Mike Austin of Laguna Beach, Calif.; abrother, Glenn Austin; and three grandchildren.

Sarah Anderson
Sarah Brewer Anderson, 58, of Kenosha, died Tuesday, (Feb. 20, 2001) at her home.
Born Aug. 1, 1942, in Waukegan, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Lois and Edward Brewer. She attended schools in Waukegan.
In April 1967, she married Kenneth Anderson in Kenosha.
A Kenosha resident for 30 years, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a Laubach tutor for the Kenosha Literacy Council. For 10 years, she worked for the probation department of Lake County, Ill.
Her hobbies included walking, Jazzercise and gardening.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Stephen of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Veronica (Bill) Bernhardt of Pleasant Prairie; two brothers, James Brewer of El Jebel, Colo., and Chet (Joyce) Brewer of Waukegan; seven sisters, Myrtle (Odell) Jones of Beach Park, Ill., Virginia (Chuck) George of Springboro, Ohio, JoAnn Brewer of Miamisburg, Ohio, Nancy Brewer of Riverview, Fla., Helen Collins of Wadsworth, Ill., Grace Cliff of Springboro, Ohio, and Alicia (Bill) Todd of Yorkville, Ill.; and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edward Brewer of Waukegan.
Nellie Klabunde
Nellie Klabunde, 87, of Lake Geneva, formerly of Genoa City, died Thursday (Feb. 22, 2001) at Lakeland Medical Center, Elkhorn.
Born Oct. 24, 1913 in Hebron, Ill., she was the daughter of the late William and Cora (Keipper) Quake.
She married Fred C. Klabunde Oct. 28, 1931 in Woodstock, Ill. He preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1977.
A resident of the Hebron and Genoa City area her entire life, she attended Hebron High School and Genoa City High School.
Formerly employed by Paisier Products in Genoa City, she also worked as an assembler at Admiral Corporation in McHenry and Harvard. She also worked on the family farm in the town of Bloomfield.
She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Genoa City and the Circle Loyal of the church. Her hobbies included playing Bingo.
Survivors include two sons, Howard (Betty) Klabunde and Robert (Karen) Klabunde, both of Genoa City; a daughter, Carol (Jesse) Larson of Genoa City, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Fred C. Klabunde, Jr., and four brothers, Henry, William, Neal and James Quake.

Harold F. Bingham, 71, of Kenosha, died Saturday (April 21, 2001) at his home.

Ralph R. Agner
Ralph R. Agner, 90, Burlington, who retired from American Motors, died Thursday (June 28, 2001) at Mt. Carmel Medical and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 26, 1911, in Burlington, he was the son of the late Raymond and Glorianna (Reynolds) Agner. He lived in Phillips, Wis., from 1934 to 1941.
On Sept. 5, 1934, he married Irene Martwick. She died Aug. 6, 1962. On Aug. 28, 1969, he married Alyce Cappellina at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, where he was a member.
He managed the family business Agner Simplex from 1941 to 1988. He was a machinist at Case in Racine from 1947 to 1950. He was a general foreman of the tool room at American Motors from 1950 until his retirement in 1974.
He was a 55-year member of the Masonic Blue Lodge, Commandry and Shrine. He was also a member of Local 34 of the International Association of Machinists.
His hobbies included racing outboard motor boats in his early years, fishing, hunting and golfing.
Surviving are his wife of Burlington; a son Bud (Marge) of Trevor; a brother Hugh (Georgia) of Burlington; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A sister, Rhoda Newbury, preceded her in death.
