Wallace J. Colby
Wallace "Wally" J. Colby, 78, died Friday (April 20, 2001) at his residence at Hospitality Nursing and Rehab.
Born Jan. 21, 1923, in Kenosha, he was the son of George and Nellie (Racine) Colby. He attended St. Thomas Elementary School and other local schools.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a staff sergeant. During World War II, he served in the Battle of the Bulge, receiving the Victory Medal, the American Theater Ribbon, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with three bronze battle stars and the Good Conduct Medal.
On June 11, 1966, he married Florence Bruns in Kenosha.
In 1972, he moved to Lakewood, returning to Kenosha in 1995.
He was a car salesman for Benning Motors, Lakeshore Motors and for many years Hiller Chevrolet. He then owned and operated the Club 32 Supper Club in Lakewood.
He was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lakewood, a former member of Lakewood Veterans of Foreign Wars post and enjoyed deer hunting and golf.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey (Sandy) Siemion of Kenosha and Kenneth (Janet) Colby of Waupaca; two daughters, Linda (Stephen) Sturycz and Susan (Francis) Dunnebacke, both of Kenosha; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; three brothers, Kenneth in World War II, Howard and Harold; and a sister, Jean Fetzer.

Betty Jane "B.J." Jones
Betty Jane "B.J." Jones, 75, of Kenosha, died Wednesday (Nov. 28, 2001) at Kenosha Hospital and Medical Center.
The daughter of the late Frank J. and Rose (Slagoski) Marvin, she was born on Aug. 1, 1926, in Wausau.
She moved to Kenosha in 1929, attended local schools, and graduated from Bradford High School.
On Aug. 12, 1950, she married Ralph Jones at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
She was employed by the telephone company, then by Warwick.
For 27 years, she was employed by the city of Kenosha as a crossing guard for St. Mark's Catholic School at the corner of 73rd Street and Sheridan Road.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Church, the VFW Auxiliary, and Moose Lodge 155.
She enjoyed bowling, traveling and yard work.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gary Jones of Kenosha and Timothy (Laurie) Jones of Hollister, Calif.; seven grandchildren, and three sisters, Virginia (Edward) Simpson of Costa LeMesa, Calif., and Susan Madison and Charlotte (Michael) McCarville, both of Kenosha.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Randy, and two brothers, Joseph and Tommy Marvin.

Carolyn Ann Berna
Carolyn Ann Berna, 60, of Kenosha, died Friday (Dec. 8, 2000) at the home of her sister in Woodstock, Ill.
Born June 30, 1940, in Harvard, Ill., she was the daughter of Frank and Wilma (Nothnagel) Berna.
She was a nursing instructor for Gateway Technical College.
She was co-chairman of the Southeast Wisconsin Chapter of the Association of Women's Health Obstetrics and the Neonatal Nurses. She was a member of the Kenosha-Racine District Nurses Association and the Gateway Technical Education Association. She was also a volunteer for the Salvation Army and Special Olympics.
Surviving are three sisters, Margaret F. Davis, Janet M. (William) Kluwe and Nancy E. (Raymond) Krueger; and a brother, Robert F. (Shriley) Berna.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorothy M. Schumacher.

Marie S. Soleska
Marie S. Soleska, 87, formerly of Kenosha, late of Summit, died Monday (Jan. 1, 2001) at Countryside Home, Jefferson.
Born Aug. 27, 1913, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late George and Mamie (Steinbach) Schmidt.
She was a homemaker.
Surviving are a stepson, Edward (Caroline) Soleska of Jefferson and two step-grandchildren.
Her husband, Phillip Soleska, preceded her in death.

John "Sharkey" Holdsworth, 87, of Kenosha, died Wednesday (Feb. 14, 2001) at Brookside Nursing and Rehab Center.

Craig Cunningham
Craig Cunningham, 40, of Kenosha, died Friday, (Feb. 16, 2001) at Aurora Hospital and Medical Center.
Born Jan. 10, 1961, in Kenosha, he was the son of James E. and Mary C. (Wolfe) Cunningham Sr.
A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he attended Wilson Elementary School, Bullen Junior High School and Mary D. Bradford High School.
He was employed by Kenosha Unified School District.
Survivors include a son, Craig Christopher Cunningham of Jackson, Tenn.; his parents of Kenosha; two brothers, Leonard and David, both of Kenosha; three sisters, Linda F., Glendora L. and Francilla R. Cunningham, all of Kenosha; and his maternal grandmother, Jessie Mae Wolfe Blakey.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James E. Cunningham Jr.; his maternal grandfather, Tommy Wolfe; and his paternal grandparents, Sidney and Katie L. Cunningham, Sr.

Mary Jo Evans, 69, of Kenosha, died Friday, (Feb.23, 2001) at Woodstock Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Alfred A. Greco
Alfred A. Greco, 94, of Kenosha, died Thursday (April 19, 2001) at his residence.
Born Aug. 19, 1906, in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Carlo and Melanie (Mauro-DeFazio) Greco. He was a lifetime resident of Kenosha, attending local schools.
On July 14, 1934, he married Angeline Falduto at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
He was employed at Chrysler Motors, retiring in 1968 after 48 years as an inspector.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Holy Name Society of the church, and Local 72 Retirees Club at Chrysler.
His hobbies included bowling, and he participated in numerous bowling tournaments throughout the Midwest.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Al "Freddie" (Susan) Greco of Dousman and Carl (Carol) Greco of Kenosha; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James, Louie and Joe; and three sisters, Rose, Ivy and Lillian.
