Hazel Haggard
Hazel M. Haggard, 89, of Barron died Feb. 6, 1998 at Barron Medical Center there.
Mrs. Haggard was born April 23, 1908 in Kansas City, Kan., to James and Kate (McDonald) Kerr. On May 2, 1931 she married Joseph Haggard at Chicago, Ill. They lived in Kansas City until moving to Green Bay in 1992. They moved to Barron in 1995 and had been residents of Maplecroft Living Center.
She is survived by two sons, Joe of Atlanta, Kan., and Terry of Independence, Mo.; Nancy Grittman of Trego; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Stanton of Spooner.
Mrs. Haggard was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 1996.
Alberta Hanson
Alberta M. Hanson, 73, of Rice Lake died Jan. 13, 1998 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Mrs. Hanson was born Dec. 21, 1924 to John and Evelyn Meysembourg at Almena. Her family moved to the Campia area and she attended Campia School and graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1944. She married Eugene Hanson on Aug. 30, 1944 at Fort Sill, Okla., and began working for Wright Products in 1952. Mrs. Hanson took a leave of absence to raise a family and then returned to work for Wright Products until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the Catholic Council of Women, was active in the St. Joseph Fall Festival and loved to paint and do wood crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene; two daughters, Gloria Vonasek of Rice Lake, and Diann Olson of Maple Grove, Minn.; three sons, Larry of Rice Lake, LeRoy of Ladysmith, and Duane of Chetek; seven grandchildren; her stepmother, Eva Meysembourg of Sussex; two sisters, Lorretta Howenstein of Brookfield, and Doris Kraemer of Ocala, Fla.; five brothers, Leonard of Ocala, John of Madison, Jerald of Sussex, Donald of Brookfield, and Virgil of Powers, Mich.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild.

Irene Haughian, 77, of Haugen died Feb. 10, 1998 at the Rice Lake Convalescent Center.
Thomas Hochmayr
Thomas J. Hochmayr, 48, of Rice Lake died Jan. 13, 1998 at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.
Mr. Hochmayr was born Jan. 29, 1949 to Karl and Cecilia (Tembreull) Hochmayr. He married Susan Perkowski on July 19, 1969 in Chicago, Ill. Mr. Hochmayr had owned and operated Hochmayrs' Photography in Cameron.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; two daughters, Dawn Nyht of Apache Junction, Ariz. and Linda Hochmayr of Zimmerman, Minn.; his mother, Cecilia of Chetek; and a brother, Robert of Aurora, Ill.
Lawrence Hoff
Lawrence N. Hoff, 80, of Almena died Jan. 28, 1998 a Barron Medical Center.
Mr. Hoff was born July 4, 1917 in the Town of Arland to Edwin and Olga (Johnson) Hoff. He grew up in the Arland area, entered the Army in 1942 and served in WWII in the Pacific Theatre. On Nov. 24, 1945 he married Goldie Nottom at Prairie Farm. He hauled milk, served as Arland town constable and then worked in the timber industry for several years. They moved into Almena in 1954, and Mr. Hoff worked as a pipe layer in the St. Paul and Minneapolis area until he retired in 1979. He was a member of Laborers Union Local 563.
He is survived by four sons, Steve, Eugene, Michael, and Lawrence Jr., all of Almena; three daughters, Patricia of Minneapolis, Kathleen Hustad of Rice Lake, and Brenda Downing of Almena; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Alvin of Ridgeland, Marvin "Mike" of Poskin, and Leonard of New Brighton, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie, in 1983; and a son, Douglas, in 1979.
Mable Huerth
Mable M. Huerth, 87, of Shell Lake died Jan. 28, 1998 at the Indianhead Medical Center there.
Mrs. Huerth was born May 15, 1910 in Dobie to Prosper and Exelia Boury. She married Gilman Huerth on Nov. 8, 1927, in Sarona. They farmed in Sarona and then lived in Rockford, Ill., before they moved to Shell Lake in 1970.
She is survived by four daughters, Mavis Schlapper of Sarona, Joyce Wade of Shell Lake, Ramona Belliveau of Plover, and Patricia Pinkston of Rice Lake; a son, Vilas of Poysippi; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Armella Holcomb of Rice Lake.
Mrs. Huerth was preceded in death by her husband, Gilman, in 1993, and two grandchildren.
Nelldora Irish
Nelldora E. Irish, 70, of Cameron died Jan. 16, 1998 at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.
Emma Jann
Emma C. Jann, 95, of Wausau and formerly of Eau Claire, died Jan. 29, 1998 at Marywood Convalescent Center in Wausau.
Mrs. Jann was born April 3, 1902 in Granton to Frederick and Fredericka (Klabunde) Grassman. She married Fred E. Jann on Nov. 17, 1920 in the Town of Grant in Clark County. She had been active in church women's groups and Bible classes. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, upholstering, nature, music, traveling and family gatherings.
She is survived by two daughters, Doris Holdorf of Wausau and Genevieve Dolinko of Evanston, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Jann was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, on Aug. 3, 1967; two sons, Richard and Robert; and a daughter, Elizabeth Sholund.
Janet Johnson
Janet L. Johnson, 57, of Chetek died Feb. 1, 1998 at the University of Pittsburgh (Presbyterian) Medical Center there.
Mrs. Johnson was born on May 25, 1940 in Goodman to Francis and Irene (Kelsey) King. She married George Johnson on Aug. 8, 1959 in Beloit. The couple moved in 1972 to Chetek, where they and owned and operated Windsong Resort for many years.
She is survived by her husband, George; three sons, James of Chetek, Ronald of Linn Creek, Mo., and Matthew of Eagle, Colo.; her mother, Irene of Janesville; three brothers, Jack of Beloit, James of Whitewater, and Joe of Milton; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and Timothy.
