Paul "Pug" Collins
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Paul ``Pug'' Collins died June 16, 1998, in San Diego, Calif.
Paul was cremated. A memorial service will be held July 22, 1998, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 134 S. Main St., Stoddard, Wis. Reverend William Stevens will officiate. Ruth Stevens will be the organist.
Paul is survived by a son, Greg and Brenda Collins of Cajon, Calif.; and a daughter, Paula Collins of Texas.
Paul is also survived by mother, Alice and Clinton Withrow of Fennimore, Wis.; seven brothers, Roderick and Margaret Collins of Ottawa, Ill., Neil and Mavis Collins of French Island, Donald Collins of La Crosse, Larry and Marcia Wilson of La Crosse, Donald Wilson of Fennimore, James Wilson of Fennimore, and Leo and Jennifer Withrow of West Salem, Wis.; four sisters, Esther and Clifford Williams of West Salem, Betty and Harold Munns of Fennimore, Bonita Guenther of Stoddard and Delores and David Taylor of West Salem.

Arlene (Brose) Sueker
BUFFALO, Minn. - Arlene (Brose) Sueker, 51, of Buffalo, Minn., died Sunday evening, July 12, 1998, at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minn. She fought a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Arlene was born on May 13, 1947, in Dresbach, Minn., to the late Arthur and Selma (Morkri) Brose.
Arlene was baptized on June 8, 1947, at the First English Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Crescent, Minn. She was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on May 6, 1962, in Westby, Wis.
Arlene Brose was joined in holy matrimony to Robert Sueker on March 17, 1973. God blessed their marriage with two daughters, Christie Jane and Stacie Marie.
Arlene was employed by the Tenney Tax Company for many years.
Although Arlene had a job outside of the home, her favorite job was CEO of the household. She thoroughly enjoyed taking care of her family and did so very well.
Some of Arlene's hobbies included cooking, traveling, sewing, crafts and antiques. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family. She sought a lifelong relationship with the Lord and has now started a new life with the one she was seeking.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Sueker; daughters, Christie and Stacie, both of Buffalo; brothers, Richard (Judy) Brose of Coon Valley, Wis., Peter (Pam) Brose of La Crosse, Wis., and Alton (Gloria) Brose of Viroqua, Wis.; sisters, Dorothy (Don) Kjelland and Donna (Mike) Johnson, both of Coon Valley; mother-in-law, Eileen Sueker of Watertown, Minn.; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald (Cheri) Sueker of Excelsior, Minn., Audrey Sueker of St. Paul, Minn., and Beverly Sueker of Chicago, Ill.
She is further survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services for Arlene Sueker were held on Wednesday, July 15, at 1 p.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Buffalo. Reverend Stan Henderson officiated and interment followed at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Buffalo.
Friends called at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo on Tuesday, July 14, from 6 until 9 p.m. A prayer service was held at the chapel on Tuesday evening, July 14, at 8 p.m.
Mrs. Karin Wickman was the service's organist.
"Beautiful Savior," "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art," and "As the Door," were sung as congregational hymns.
Eric, Brent and Mark Sueker, Shawn Brose, Brandon and Luke Kjelland, Troy and Nick Johnson served as the casket bearers.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.

Eric G. Gilbertson
Eric G. Gilbertson, 37, of La Crosse, died Tuesday, July 14, 1998.
He was born on July 12, 1961, in La Crosse to Walter and Audrey (Marson) Gilbertson. Eric married Diane M. Roesler on Nov. 2, 1985, in La Crosse. He had worked as a baker at Quillin's Bakery, La Crosse, for 22 years and was currently a full time student at Western Wisconsin Technical College, majoring in computer programming. Eric's many interests included hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, Diane, he is survived by two daughters, Sara and Alyssa, both at home; a son, Benjamin at home; his parents of La Crosse; three sisters, Linda (Scott) Smith of Onalaska, Wis., and Valorie Peterson and Pamela (Gerald) Willer, both of La Crosse; a brother, Kevin (Mary) Gilbertson of La Crosse; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 1998, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The Rev. Lawrence B. Berger will officiate.
Friends may call at the church on Friday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be directed to the Eric G. Gilbertson Memorial Fund which has been established at the Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Credit Union.
The Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse is in charge of arrangements.

John M. Olson, Sr.
ETTRICK, Wis. - John M. Olson, Sr., 41, of rural Ettrick, died Tuesday, July 14, 1998, in Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse.
Funeral services will be at noon Friday in South Beaver Creek Lutheran Church, rural Ettrick. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Friday in the church.
Smith Mortuary, Galesville, assisted the family.

Tilford A. Rosaaen
CALEDONIA, Minn. - Tilford A. Rosaaen, 87, of Caledonia, died Tuesday, July 14, 1998, at the Lutheran Home, Caledonia.
He was born Nov. 11, 1910, in rural Caledonia to Martin and Emma (Anderson) Rosaaen. On June 6, 1938, he married Mavis Eglinton. Together they raised livestock and turkeys on their farm in rural Caledonia. After divorcing in 1955, Tilford moved to Alaska where he was employed in the construction of the Alaskan Pipeline as a food service worker. In the 1970s, Tilford retired back to Caledonia and later became a resident of the Lutheran Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon (Blaine) Liudahl of Spring Grove, Minn.; two granddaughters, Michelle (Charles Jr.) Ardinger of Pensacola, Fla., and Nicole Liudahl of Spring Grove, Minn.; a sister, Emelia Wohlers of Caledonia; and a nephew, Glenn W. (Barbara) Meyer of Caledonia.
Tilford was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mrs. Gynther (Marie) Bjorge, Mrs. Elmer (Rhoda) Happel and Mrs. Walter (Myrtle) Meyer; and a brother-in-law, Leonard Wohlers.
A private family service for the family will be Friday at 7 p.m. from the Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia. Rev. James Arends of Trinity Lutheran Church, Spring Grove, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Caledonia. There will be no visitation.
The family requests no memorials or flowers.

Winifred M. Christenson
WESTBY, Wis. - Winifred M. Christenson, 96, of Westby, died on Tuesday evening, July 14, 1998, at the Norseland Nursing Home in Westby where she had been a resident since November 1996.
She was born in Vernon County on May 31, 1902, to Isaac and Iona (Morrison) Best. On Sept. 14, 1919, she married Virgil L. Christenson at Pleasant Valley. They spent most of their life in the Viroqua area with the exception of two years in Colorado and two years in Rockford. In 1953, they purchased a farm on Nottingham Ridge, rural Viroqua, when they sold in 1973, moving to their retirement home between Viroqua and Westby in the old Smith School. She was a faithful member of the Viroqua Church of Christ and served both God and her family to the best of her ability.
She is survived by three daughters, Iona (Stanley) Skrede, Verna Tryggestad, both of rural Viroqua, Margie (Charles ``Pete'') Erickson of rural Westby; 20 grandchildren, including three grandsons, Michael, Robert and James Christenson who made their home with Virgil and Winnie. Other survivors include many great and great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
She and her husband had also provided a home for her brother, Fred Best, who at the age of nine lived with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil, in May 1982; three sons, Darrell, Virgil Jr., and Clair; four brothers, Lonnie, Fred, Floyd and Wilbur Best; and two sisters, Edna Rood and Mable Helgeson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 1998, at the Viroqua Church of Christ with Pastor Ron Ahlgren officiating. Burial will be in the Brush Hollow Cemetery, rural Viroqua.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Thorson Funeral Home in Viroqua her there will be prayer service at 7 p.m. Friends may also call at the church after 10 a.m. on Friday.
The family suggests memorials to the Viroqua Church of Christ.

Kenneth J. Heintz
SPARTA, Wis. - Kenneth J. Heintz, 73, 602 Eyler Street, Sparta, died Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center, Sparta.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lillie Jeche Heintz of Sparta; two sons, Ricklin (Pamela) Heintz of Winona, Minn., Gary (Barbara) Heintz of La Crosse; two daughters, Gayle (Bruce) Elbert of Beaver Dam, Wis., Sherrie (Thomas) Renaud of Fenton, Mich.; eight grandchildren, Marni, Geoffrey, Jared, Shane, Karli Heintz, Nathan Diederick, Neil, and Peter Renaud; two sisters, Sr. M. Claudine of Milwaukee, Claudia Kissel of Janesville; and a brother, Urban Heintz of Hartford, Wis.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Kann Funeral Home, Sparta, with Father Mark Walljasper officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post 100 and the V.F.W. Post 2112 will be in St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery, Sparta.
Friends may call at the Lanham-Kann Funeral Home, Sparta, on Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
