Doris H. Weiland
Doris H. Weiland, 73, of La Crosse, died on Monday, June 29, 1998, at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, La Crosse. She was born in La Crosse, Wis., on Oct. 7, 1924, to Gottfried and Lenora (Schlicht) Abegglen. She married Robert Weiland on June 30, 1950, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, La Crosse, Wis.
Doris is survived by her husband, Robert; two daughters, Karen (Peter) Naegle of Maple Grove, Minn., and Karla (Troy) Collier of Lexington, Ky.; one son, Keith (Maury) Weiland of Anchorage, Alaska; six grandchildren, Matthew Naegle, Nathan Naegle, Lucas Naegle, Mark Collier, Hans Weiland and Alesha Weiland; one great-grandchild, Mariah Collier; two sisters, Evelyn Weier of Tulsa, Okla., and Janice Abegglen of La Crosse, Wis.; and two brothers, LeRoy Abegglen of Decorah, Iowa, and James Abegglen of La Crosse, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Abegglen.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 1998, at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse. The Very Rev. Robert J. Cook will officiate. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum, Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials are preferred to the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman.
Isidore W. `Izzy' Schaub
Isidore W. ``Izzy'' Schaub, 74, of La Crosse, died Monday, June 29, 1998, at his home. He was born on Aug. 22, 1923, at St. Mary's Ridge, town of Jefferson, Monroe County, to William and Freda (Herricks) Schaub. He married Margaret M. Clements on May 23, 1949, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Joseph Ridge, La Crosse County. Izzy served with the Navy from 1945 to 1949, and was stationed in Guam. He had worked at the La Crosse Trane Co. for 37 years and four months, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Trane 25-Year Club and Trane Local 21. Izzy was a longtime member of the Mens' Club at Holy Trinity Parish. His hobbies included woodworking, bowling and fishing.
In addition to his wife, Margaret, he is survived by five daughters, Mary (Marty) Baldwin and Lori (Jeff) Dagendesh, both of La Crosse, Linda (Bob) Withington of Chaseburg, Wis., Sue (Scott) Milde of Bangor, Wis., and Sandy (Tom) Finn of Rosemount, Minn.; four sons, Dan (Mary Ann) of La Crosse, Bill (Jane) of Lakeland, Minn., Bob (Patti) of Plover, Wis., and Peter (Ellen) of Eggan, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; a great-grandson; three step-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Josephine Rudi and Bernidine (Orville) Sharping, both of Cashton, Wis.; four brothers, Engelbert Schaub of Cashton, Sylvester (Thersa) Schaub of La Crosse, Lawrence (Joyce) Schaub of Sparta and Jerome (Paula) Schaub of Onalaska, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son and two daughters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 1998, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The Rev. Lawrence B. Berger will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the church today from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be directed to the Holy Trinity School Scholarship Fund. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Morrison, 93, formerly a resident of the Bethany on Cass Retirement Community, died on Thursday, July 2, 1998, at the Bethany Riverside Nursing Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church. A complete obituary will be announced by the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse.
Violet E. Beck
GENOA, Wis. - Violet E. Beck, 82, of Genoa, died on Thursday, July 2, 1998, at the Bethany-Riverside Nursing Facility, La Crosse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 1998, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Genoa. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Robert W. Croll, 76, of La Crosse, died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, in Hillview Nursing Home. Funeral services scheduled for Tuesday will be announced later by the Blaschke Funeral Home.
Raymond Thomas Tollefson
SENECA, Wis. - Raymond T. Tollefson, 72, of Seneca, Wis., died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wis.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 6, 1998, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Seneca, Wis., with burial at a later date in Dickson Cemetery, Lynxville, Wis.
Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Patrick's Parish Hall in Seneca and prior to services on Monday. A scripture service will be said at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Joyce; two sons, Donald (Fran) Tollefson of Elm Grove, Wis. and Raymond ``Cliff'' (Carol) Tollefson of Seneca, Wis.; a daughter, Marilyn LeDuc of Burlington, Wis.; nine grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy (Jim) Jones of Prairie du Chien, Wis. and one brother, Neil (Wanda) Tollefson of Ft. Atkinson, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Lawrence.
Raymond was born July 25, 1925, at Seneca, Wis., to parents Neilus and Grace (Clancy) Tollefson. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He married Joyce Withey on June 23, 1945, in Prairie du Chien. They lived in Milwaukee for 30 years, where he worked in the meat packing business. They later moved to Fennimore, Wis., where he worked as a production manager for Ray-O-Vac for 13 years and after his retirement they moved to Seneca.

Spencer M. Nelson
BLAIR, Wis. - Spencer M. Nelson, 80, of Blair, Wis., died on Thursday, July 2, 1998, in the Grand View Care Center in Blair, Wis.
Spencer was born on June 9, 1918, in the town of Preston, Trempealeau County, Wis., to Henry and Esther (Melby) Nelson. He married Marian Gutow on Feb. 21, 1944, in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Whitehall, Wis. She preceded him in death on Feb. 18, 1994.
Spencer was an Army veteran of World War II. He farmed in the town of Preston prior to his retirement. Spencer was a member of the Fagernes Lutheran Church, the Knudtson-Mattison American Legion Post #231 and was a past member of the Preston town board.
Mr. Nelson is survived by six children, Diane Nelson of Eau Claire, Wis., Peter Nelson of Blair, Wis., Thomas (Jane) Nelson of St. Louis Park, Minn., Milton (Kathy) Nelson of Blair, Wis., Bruce (Rita) Nelson of Packwaukee, Wis. and John (Shelby) Nelson of Blair, Wis.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Spencer was preceded in death by a sister, Harriet Larson.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at 11 a.m. in the Fagernes Lutheran Church with burial in the church Cemetery, both in rural Blair, Wis. Rev. Kevin Jones and John Twiton will officiate.
Graveside military services will be conducted by the Knudtson-Mattison American Legion post #231 of Blair, Wis.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 1998, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair, Wis., and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.

LA FARGE, Wis. - Larry Harris, 62, of La Farge, died Monday, July 6, 1998, in his home in La Farge.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Seland Funeral Home, La Farge. Burial will be in the Bear Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of services in the funeral home.

DE SOTO, Wis. - Obed E. Runice, 76, formerly of Retreat and De Soto, died Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at Vernon Memorial Hospital, Viroqua.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Larson Funeral Home, De Soto. Burial will be in the West Prairie Hauge Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday, both in the funeral home.
