Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Mary Catholic Church, Garden City. Burial with military rites will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City. BOSCOBEL/WESTBY, Wis. - Milton John Running, 72, of Boscobel and formerly of Westby, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998 in Boscobel Area Health Care Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday from the Vosseteig Funeral Home, Westby. Burial will be in North Coon Prairie Cemetery, Newry. Friends may call after noon Friday at the funeral home.
Glenn D. Miller
MERRILLAN, Wis. - Glenn D. Miller, 46, of Merrillan, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998 in Black River Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Torgerson's Funeral Chapel, Black River Falls. Burial will be in Hatfield Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday, both at the funeral home.
Scott S. Mills
VIROQUA, Wis. - Scott S. Mills, age 83, of R.2, Viroqua, died Monday, February 16, 1998 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born Scott Samuel Mills to Thomas and Kathryn (Melvin) Mills on November 15, 1914 in the town of Jefferson, Vernon County, Wisconsin. He attended local schools and remained on the Mills farm for his entire lifetine.
On February 8, 1941, he was united in marriage with Thelma Jacobson. He was active in the Circle V Riders Club as a charter member, and served as a 4-H leader of the Victory Pigeons Club. He also served on the school board of the White Pigeon School for several years and drove school bus for Viroqua Area Schools for 20 years. He was a member of the Viroqua United Methodist Church for over 50 years, and the Viroqua Eagles Club. All who knew Scott were aware of his admiration and enjoyment of horses. There was never a time when horses were not included among the farm animals. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and the fact that his father emigrated from Ireland.
Scott is survived by his son, Howard (Nancy) Mills of La Crosse; two grandsons, Scott and Erick Mills, both of La Crosse; one brother, Charles (Betty) Mills and one sister-in-law, Hazel Mills, all of Viroqua; plus nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma on December 31, 1997; two sisters, Etta (Iver) Espe and Willis (Francis) Ghelf; and one brother, George M. Mills.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 1998, at 11 a.m. in the Viroqua United Methodist Church. The Rev. Frank Thompson will officiate, with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call at the Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., and at the church on Saturday after 10 a.m.
Elizabeth ``Betty'' L. Maloney
MADISON, Wis. - Elizabeth ``Betty'' Maloney of Madison, died in her sleep on Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998, at her home.
She was born on Nov. 28, 1908, in La Crosse, Wis., the daughter of Otto and Sophie (Wermuth) Brietzke. She married John C. Maloney in Milwaukee in 1937. Betty was a graduate of Central High School in La Crosse and of the La Crosse Teachers College. She taught elementary school in Spooner, Wis., and in Lake Bluff, Ill. She was active in gardening and gardening clubs and volunteered her time at Gompers Elementary School. She was a member at St. Peter Catholic Church. Betty enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends and was an avid Cub, Packer and Badger fan.
Survivors include her husband, John C. Mahoney of Madison; a brother, Albert H. Brietzke of La Crosse; a sister-in-law, Nell Brietzke of Stoughton; nieces, Katherine (Michael) Munson of Milwaukee, Barbara Brietzke of Cudahy, Sharon (Jim) McFadden of Coral Gables, Fla., Christine Maloney of Madison, Mary Beth Maloney of Florida, Gretchen (George) Boldt of Deerfield and Adrienne (George) Palermo of Milwaukee; nephews, Rick (Sarah) Brietzke of Ft. Atkinson, Paul Brietzke of Trempealeau, Pat Maloney of San Diego, Calif., Dick (Bunny) Maloney of Oconto, Tim (Judy) Maloney of Sedona, Ariz., Terry (Mary) Maloney of Oconto; and many other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Adrian P. Brietzke and Frederick O. Brietzke.
Funeral services will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church, 5001 North Sherman Ave., Madison, on Monday, Feb. 23, 1998, at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Roger Nilles will officiate. Burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 North Sherman Ave., on Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998, from 2 to 5 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorials may be given to St. Peter Catholic Church.
Emily M. Buck
TOMAH, Wis. - Emily M. Buck, 86, of Tomah and formerly of Green Bay, Wis., died Feb. 19, 1998, at her son's home in Tomah.
Memorial services and entombment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, in Nicolet Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Green Bay, in the chapel of the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel in the mausoleum.

Helen A. Tolvstad
HOLMEN, Wis. - Helen A. Tolvstad, 90, of Holmen, died at St. Francis Medical Center, Friday, February 20, 1998.
She was born August 6, 1907, at Stevenstown, to Odell and Ogla (Gullickson) Ekern.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Donald) Downing of Holmen; by a son, Dennis (Betty) Tolvstad of Holmen; by a sister, Lu Becker of La Crosse; by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; by a sister and a brother.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Holmen Lutheran Church. The Reverend Charles Evavold will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmound Cemetery.

Ruby M. Molzahn
Ruby M. Molzahn, 77, formerly of 3321 South 27th Street, died at the Hillview Health Care Center Thursday, February 19, 1998.
She was born November 14, 1920, at Bremerton, Washington, to Olaus and Olga (Melby) Flugstad. She grew up in Westby and graduated from Westby High School in 1937. She married Theodore Molzahn on September 29, 1944. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1989. She had been employed by the La Crosse Cooler Credit Union and the La Crosse Community Credit Union prior to her retirement.
She was a member of Naomi-Ruth Circle at English Lutheran Church and was a member of the Postal Workers Auxiliary and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary L. Johnson of La Crosse; by a daughter-in-law, Nancy Molzahn of La Crosse; by a sister, Liala (Louis) Trapp of Lemon Grove, Calif.; a brother, Raymond Flugstad of Cypress, Calif.; by seven grandchildren, Keith J. and Nicholas J. Molzahn and Tanya L., Alicia M., Bryan A., Andrew R., and Patrick S. Molzahn; and by two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffry Molzahn; and by two brothers.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at English Lutheran Church. The Reverend Roger Black will officiate. Burial will be in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park.

Loretta Gleason Merchant
BLACK RIVER FALLS/ARCADIA, Wis. - Loretta Gleason Merchant, 84, of Black River Falls and formerly of Arcadia, died on Thursday, February 19, 1998, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis.
She was born on July 12, 1913, in the town of Glencoe, Buffalo Co., Wis., to Christian and Lena Doelle Gleanson. Loretta taught elementary school in the Trempealeau Co. area and the developmentally disabled at the Southern Colony and Training School. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia and its St. Anne's Rosary Society. She was a member of A.A.R.P., was a strong Democrat and a member of the Humane Society. She was also a member of the Wisconsin Educational Association.
Loretta is survived by two daughters, Joan (Ed) Sveen of River Falls, Wis., and Carol Bolster of Sparta, Wis.; four grandchildren, Larry Bolster and Jason Bolster of Sparta, Mark Sveen and Laura Sveen of River Falls; and a great-grandson, Jason Stark of Sparta; and a special friend, Neilan Hulett of Black River Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Miltilda.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 23, 1998, at 12 noon at Our Laddy of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia with the Rev. Raymond Pedretti officiating. Spring burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Killian Funeral Home, where there will be a rosary said at 11 a.m.
Casket bearers will be Larry Bolster, Jason Bolster, Mark Sveen, Jennifer Sveen, Laura Sveen and Jason Stark.
