Kevin L. Nott
Kevin L. Nott, 20, of Onalaska, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1998. He was born in La Crosse to Thomas and Nancy (Byrne) Nott. Kevin was employed by Truss Specialists of La Crescent, Minn. He was a 1997 graduate of Onalaska High School. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Anne Nott, serving with the U.S. Navy; by a brother, Greg Nott of Onalaska; two aunts, Joan Byrne of Onalaska and Mary Byrne of La Crosse; by two uncles, Larry (Paula) Byrne of Onalaska and John Byrne of La Crosse; by his nephew, Elijah; and by his Big Brother, Brad Heineck of La Crosse. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edmund and Leona Byrne.
Memorial services will be held Monday, March 2, at 1 p.m. at the Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 401 Main St., Onalaska. Fran Browning, Pastoral Care Coordinator for the funeral home will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from noon until the time of services.
Adeline N. Heilman
NORWALK, Wis. - Adeline N. Heilman, 68, of Norwalk, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, at the Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Nursing Home, Sparta.
She was born on Summit Ridge, Town of Ridgeville, Monroe County, Wis., on Nov. 12, 1929, the daughter of Leo and Ella (Von Haden) Muehlenkamp. She graduated from Tomah High School in 1947. She started working at the Community State Bank in Norwalk the same year. She worked as a Cashier, Asst. Cashier and Loan Officer and consultant.
She was united in marriage to Linus J. Heilman on Oct. 25, 1950, at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Norwalk. They purchased the local feed mill known as the Heilman Elevator Co. and they ran the business until 1995, when they sold the business. Adeline continued working at the bank until she retired in October of 1996. Even though she retired she continued working 1-2 days a week when she was able until December of 1997.
She was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church and the PCCW and the Wisconsin Bankers Assn. and received an award for 50 years of service from the Wisconsin Bankers Association in June of 1997.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Linus; one daughter, Linda (Robert) Baker, Norwalk; five grandchildren; one grandson-in-law; her father-in-law, Lloyd Dreier, Norwalk; one brother, Glenn (Jenny) Muehlenkamp, Norwalk; one sister-in-law, Freda Heilman, Jefferson, Wis.; nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
The funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Norwalk with Rev. Kevin Louis officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery, Norwalk.
Friends may call at the Page-Smith Funeral Home, Norwalk, today from 4-9 p.m. with a rosary conducted by Rev. Kevin Louis and the PCCW at 8 p.m. today, and on Saturday from 8-10:15 a.m.
Harry E. Rawson
BLAIR/WHITEHALL, Wis. - Harry E. Rawson, 75, of Blair, Wis., died on Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998, in the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, Wis. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at 11 a.m. in the Reaching Out Ministries Church in rural Whitehall, Wis. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in rural Foster, Wis. Visitation will be held today from 4-8 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall, Wis., and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.
Naomi E. Kruse
ALMA, Wis. - Naomi E. Kruse, age 89, of Alma, died Friday, February 13, 1998, at Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 16, 1998, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Alma. Spring burial will be in the Alma Public Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. today at the Stohr-Hagen-Wozney Funeral Home in Alma, where there will be a 5 p.m. Rosary. Friends may also call from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Marie A. Johnson
Marie A. Johnson, 100, a resident of the Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Nursing Home, died at the nursing home on Saturday, February 14, 1998.
She was born in rural La Crosse on August 15, 1897, to Joseph and Frances (Smola) Silha. She married William G. Krueger on June 16, 1924, in Winona, Minnesota and he preceded her in death. She then married Harold Johnson on September 28, 1935, in Crown Point, Indiana and they were later divorced.
Marie was employed at Doerflinger's Department Store for 25 years, where she was the buyer and manager for the children's department. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and was active in the St. Joan of Arc Altar Society at the parish.
Marie is survived by a niece, Irene Kaiser of La Crosse; a nephew, Maurice Kocimski of La Crosse; and many grandnieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Agnes Stormoen; an infant sister, Anna Silha; and one nephew, Theodore Kocimski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 1998, at 11 a.m. from St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Rev. Joseph J. Rafacz will officiate. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services with a rosary recited at 10:30 a.m. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse is in charge of arrangements.
Philip A. Beckley
Philip A. Beckley, 88, of La Crosse, died on Friday, February 13, 1998, at the Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Medical Center.
He was born in Beach, North Dakota on January 24, 1910, to Arthur and Isabell (Fraser) Beckley. He married Ferol Stauffer on December 26, 1931, in Waukon, Iowa.
Phil graduated from La Crosse Business College and was employed by Trane Heating and Air Conditioning Company for 45 years, where he worked as a department manager. He served on the Board of Directors of the Trane Company Credit Union from 1947-1968 and also served as Treasurer for the credit union. He was later recognized by the Trane Company for his long time service and commitment; and he was also honored by the La Crosse Jaycees as ``Outstanding Boss'' in 1964.
Phil was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church in La Crosse where he served on the School Board and Church Council and as an usher. He was also an avid golfer and fisherman and a member of the La Crosse Curling Club.
He is survived by his wife, Ferol; two daughters, Bonnie (Ralph) Mann of Onalaska and Sherry (John) Kapanke of Minneapolis; two sons, David (Alesea) Beckley of Onalaska and Daniel (Sandra) Beckley of Bel Aire, Calif.; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosemary (Paul) Tarara of Rochester, Minn. and Rosalie (Warren) Bush of Elmira, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 16, 1998, at 1 p.m. from First Ev. Lutheran Church. Rev. Steven Staude will officiate. A dessert will follow in the church fellowship hall. His body will be cremated with burial to take place in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park at a later date. The family requests memorials to be given to First Ev. Lutheran School. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse is assisting the family with arrangements.
Evelyn M. Wolfe
INDEPENDENCE, Wis. - Evelyn M. Wolfe, 77, of Independence, died Saturday, February 14, 1998, at Tri-County Memorial Nursing Home, Whitehall. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with spring burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday and 8-10 a.m. Tuesday at Edison Funeral Home, Independence. Monday evening there will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. followed by a rosary at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bernice Pampuch
ARCADIA, Wis. - Bernice Pampuch, 75, of Arcadia, Wis., died Friday, February 13, 1998, at the Franciscan Skemp Healthcare/Arcadia Nursing Home.
She was born September 21, 1922, in the Town of Lincoln, Trempealeau County, Wisconsin to Victor and Eleanor (Bisek) Smieja. On January 12, 1942, she married Herman Pampuch at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1967.
Bernice was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She worked for a time at the factory in Arcadia and then worked at various restaurants in Arcadia.
She is survived by four sons, James (Judy) Pampuch of Joliet, Ill., Richard Pampuch of Arcadia, Wis., David (Jan) Pampuch of Chippewa Falls, Wis., Gary (Patricia) Pampuch, Whitehall, Wis.; 11 grandchildren, Brian (Laurie) Franks, Kelly Franks, Shane (Lynn) Pampuch, Shannon Pampuch, Shilo Pampuch, Vickie (Donnie) Kriebich, Brenda Pampuch, Steve Pampuch, Tessa Pampuch, Jeremy (Sandy) Pampuch, Bradley Pampuch; seven great-grandchildren, Jamie Pampuch, Katie Pampuch, Amber Toby, Angie Soltis, Jacy Franks, Jared Franks, Nicholas Pampuch; one sister, Darlene (James) Kamla of Arcadia, Wis.; two brothers, Aaron (Toni) Smieja of Arcadia, Wis., Maynard (Irene) Smieja of Fountain City, Wis.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman Pampuch; and daughter, Janet.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 16, 1998, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia, with Fr. Raymond Pedretti officiating. Spring burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Arcadia. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today at the Wozney Funeral Home in Arcadia, where there will be an 8 p.m. Rosary. Friends may also call from 8-10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
