Margaret L. Gleue
formerly of LA CROSSE - Margaret L. Gleue, 92, formerly of La Crosse died in Pekin, Ill., on Friday, Sept. 4, 1998. She was born in La Crosse on Jan. 30, 1906, to Joseph and Mary (Seiler) Linse. She married Bernhardt ``Sticky'' Gleue in La Valle, Wis., on Nov. 17, 1935, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 1984. Margaret grew up on a farm in Mormon Coulee known as the Evergreen Farm. Her family was in the dairy business and were known for delivering butter to the city of La Crosse.
Margaret and her two sisters formed a trio that sang at the church in Mormon Coulee for various things such as weddings and funerals. She worked in the ready to wear department at Doerflingers, the shoe department at the E.R. Barron Company which was managed by her husband and later she and her husband became the owners of the shoe department at Herbergers after it was purchased from the Barron Company. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for 49 years and has been involved as a deacon and a circle member. She delivered Mobile Meals for several years and was a member of the La Crosse Country Club for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Gleue Teal, of Peoria, Ill., and Mary Gleue Jester of Palatine, Ill.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, Stephanie Teal and Justin Roach. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Irma and Helen; and her brothers, William, Valentine, Carl, and Reinholt.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at 1 p.m. at the Sletten McKee Hanson Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Frandsen will officiate and entombment will be in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from noon until time of services. Memorials are requested for the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

Kenneth J. Keenan
Kenneth J. Keenan, 83, of La Crosse, died on Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born on Sept. 8, 1914.
He is survived by his wife Bea; two daughters, Kay Witt of La Crosse, and Kenlyn (Jim) Dollar of Winter Park, Florida; 23 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Marilyn Mitton; and two sons Richard Keenan and Ronald Keenan.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 7, 1998, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Richard Pamperin will officiate. Memorials are preferred to First Evangelical Lutheran School. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse is in charge arrangements.

Francis F. Stark
ST. JOSEPH RIDGE, Wis. - Francis F. Stark, 80, of St. Joseph Ridge, died on Saturday, Sept. 5, 1998, at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born on May 31, 1918, in Sparta, Wis. to Charles and Emma (Gerke) Stark. He married Ann M. Walsh on Oct. 23, 1945, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Gays Mills, Wis. Francis was employed by the La Crosse County Highway Department until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of A.F.S.C.M.e. local #227. He had also been employed by his son at Duane's Body Shop of West Salem for five years.
In addition to his wife Ann, he is survived by two sons, Duane (Mary Ann) of West Salem, Dave (Debbie) of Onalaska; four grandchildren, Vicki, Tom, Becky, and Steve; one brother, Cletus (Gen) of La Crosse. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Irene Schumacher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at 11 a.m., from St. Joseph Ridge Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Hundt will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse on Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m., where a Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church on Wednesday, from 10:30 until the time of services.

Janet M. Reinhard
CENTERVILLE, Wis. - Janet M. Reinhard, 62, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, in her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Janet, daughter of August and Melina Kreuzer, is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 40 years, Kurt Reinhard. Her biggest joys in life were her children, Terri (Perry) Tibesar and granddaughters Jessica and Abbey; Marilyn (Brad) Kroening and grandchildren, Samuel and Claire; Mark (Nancy) Reinhard and grandchildren, Kurt and Amy; Marijo Reinhard and grandchildren, Tyler and Zoe. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Marchio, of So. St. Paul, Minn.
Her passions in life were antiquing, Bunnys and Bears, the ``lunch bunch,'' and cross-stitching the miles away when off to another antique show.
She will be missed by all.
A memorial mass will be offered at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Cathedral of Sacred Heart, 360 Main St., Winona, Minn. The Rev. John Sauer will be the celebrant. Friends may call at the church after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lyle and Marlene Halliday, Dick and Linda Carr and Ron and Rose Ramin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
Fawcett Funeral Home, Winona, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dorothy L. ``Dottie'' Papacek
WAUKESHA AND FORMERLY OF LA CROSSE - Dorothy L. ``Dottie'' Papacek, 76, of Waukesha, Wis., formerly of La Crosse, died Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital in Waukesha.
She was born Sept. 16, 1921, in La Crosse to Leo G. and Emily (Shedesky) Kihm. Dorothy graduated from Aquinas High School in 1939. She maintained close friendships with many classmates and was actively involved in the planning of their class reunions. She worked at Camp McCoy during World War II.
She met Upton Nordstorm while involved with the La Crosse Community Theatre. They married in 1964 and moved to Owatonna, Minn., where they owned and operated a photography studio. Following his death in 1951, she returned to La Crosse with her two children. She began work at the Chancery Office of the Diocese of La Crosse and later became assistant to Bishop Frederick Freking. On May 29, 1954, she married John E. Papacek. They were owners of the Pla-Mor Bowling Center until the time of his retirement in 1989. He died Oct. 7, 1991. Dorothy was the Grand Regent for the Catholic Daughters of America. As an active member of the St. Joan of Arc Alter Society, she served as president and on several chairmanships. For several years, she volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program. She served on many committees within St. Thomas More parish, with youth organizations, parish fund-raising and social organizations. Dottie was an avid bridge player all her life. In 1995, she moved to the Brookfield Highlands, Brookfield, Wis., to be closer to family.
Dottie is survived by children Janet F. Nordstrom of New Berlin, Wis., Gregory L. (Rebecca Maas) Nordstrom of Biloxi, Miss., Mary S. (Al) Guerrea of Wauwatosa, Joanne (John D.) Heup of Oconomowoc, Wis., and Carol J. (John) Pesch of Seattle, Wash; nine granchildren, Stephanie Perkins, Gregory and Tristana Nordstrom, Cassandra and Lindsay Radliff, Katherine, Andrew and Michael Heup, Kasey Pesch and her soon-to-be-born great-grandson, Dennis H. Perkins III; a sister, Arlene Long of Madison, Wis.; and a brother, George (Jean) Kihm of La Crosse. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jeanne Wateski.
Dottie often reminisced about days of tennis and nights of jitterbugging at the USO. Her wry sense of humor and those sparkling blue eyes will be missed by her family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Rafacz will officiate. Entombment will be in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum, Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m., and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until departing for church.

Price H. Hoagenson
BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. - Price H. Hoagenson, 92, of 610 Pierce St., Black River Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 1998, in the Pine View Nursing Home in Black River Falls where he had been a resident since March 16, 1998.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at Black River Falls Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastor Cheryl Matthews will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at Torgerson's Funeral Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and at the church Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

Leona M. `Penny' Swinghamer
CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. - Leona M. ``Penny'' Swinghamer, 72, of Crystal River, died on Saturday, Sept. 5, 1998, at Brentwood Healthcare Home. She was born on Nov. 15, 1925, to Ralph and Mahala Bridge of Chandler, Okla. She was a 1947 graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in biology. Following graduation she interned at Barnes Hospital of St. Louis, Mo., as a medical technologist. After completing her internship she moved to Tulsa, Okla., where she assumed a career in pathology. On Feb. 10, 1950, she married W. Charles Swinghamer. They moved to Crystal River in 1982, from Pittsburgh, Penn. Penny was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Crystal River.
In addition to her husband, Charles, she is survived by a son, Richard C. of Plano, Texas; a daughter, Judith A. Swallow of Raleigh, N.C.; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert W., on Nov. 23, 1989.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse. The Rev. John Swing will officiate. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donors to please consider a memorial contribution to the First Presbyterian Church of Crystal River, 1501 SE Hwy. 19, Crystal River, Fla. 34429.

Darwin (Dish) Destache
RICE LAKE/GALESVILLE, Wis. - Darwin Destache, 67, of Rice Lake, died suddenly Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rice Lake. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Appleyard Funeral Home, Rice Lake.

Gianetta `Getty' Pickett
TOMAHAWK, Wis. - Gianetta ``Getty'' Pickett, 80, died Friday, Sept. 4. 1998, in Riverview Rehab and Care Center, Tomahawk. She was born March 18, 1918, in Tomahawk. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, both in Tomahawk. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Gerry Pickett Playground Equipment Fund for Memorial Park. Krueger & Sons Funeral Home, Tomahawk, is in charge of arrangements.
