JANESVILLE, Wis. - Arlyn R. Leatherberry, 60, of Janesville, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, in Milwaukee. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Seland Funeral Home, La Farge. Burial will be in Viola Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Monday, both at the funeral home.
Bernadette `Bun' Goodman
PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. - Bernadette `Bun' Goodman, age 78, of Prairie Du Chien, Wis., died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at the Prairie Health Center. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Rev. John Wambach is officiating, with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie Du Chien, Wis. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie Du Chien, Wis., where there will be a rosary at 4:15 p.m., and a wake scripture at 8:30 p.m.
She was born July 26, 1920, in Seneca, Wis., daughter of Francis and Orella (Cox) Layde. She married Merrill Goodman on Dec. 2, 1939, at St. Mary's Church in McGregor, Iowa. He preceded her in death in Dec. of 1972. She is survived by five sons: Larry of Denver, Colo., Roger (Kathy), Ron (Diane), and Randy, all of Prairie Du Chien, Wis., Bob of Deforest, Wis.; two daughters, Kathy (Roger) Mahan of Milan, Ill., and Carla (Keith) Werger of Prairie Du Chien, Wis.; one brother, Tom Layde of Dickeyville, Wis.; two sisters, Collette Sandlebach, and Florence (Bart) Erickson, both of Priarie Du Chien, Wis.; 16 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jim and Greg; two brothers, Arion and Jerry Layde; and three sisters, Helen Feally, Margaret Knoebel and Maxine Brunner; along with her parents.
Ila Mae Millard
MELROSE, Wis. - Ila Mae Millard age 82, of Black River Falls and formerly of Melrose, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at Pine View Nursing Home in Black River Falls, Wis.
She was born May 19, 1916, to Fred and Elizabeth (Smith) Huber in Jackson County. She attended area schools. On Feb. 24, 1932, she married Claude `Ole' Millard in Jackson County. She owned and operated The Rose Cafe and the 4Corners Nite Club for many years.
She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth (Gene) Konze of Melrose, Claudette (Dave) Monson of West Salem, and Sally (Doug) Isensee of Sparta; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ross Huber of Melrose; and one sister, Hannah Cottrel of Saukville, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Guile Huber, and Warren Huber.
Private funeral services will be held. The Smith Mortuary in Melrose assisted the family with arrangements.
Michael H. Gandyra
ARCADIA Wis. - Michael H. Gandyra, age 80, of Arcadia, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998 in Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. A Mass Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, in St. Michaels Catholic Church with the burial in the church Cemetery, in North Creek. Friends and family may call from 4 to 9 p.m., on Monday, at the Killian Funeral Home, with a prayer service to be held at 7:30 p.m.; followed by a rosary at 8 p.m. Friends may also call from 9 a.m. Tuesday until time of services at the church.

TREMPEALEAU, Wis. - Frank P. Gille, 80, of Trempealeau, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, in the V. A. Medical Center, Madison, Wis. Funeral arrangements are pending with Smith Mortuary, Galesville, Wis.
Celia Marie Oliver McVey
VIROQUA. WIS. - Celia Marie Oliver McVey, age 49, of Viroqua, died Thursday morning, Sept. 3, 1998, at the Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua, where she had been a resident since Dec. 1995.
She was born in Viroqua on Nov. 3, 1948, to Marvin and Helen (Ames) Oliver. She was baptized and confirmed at the Redmond United Methodist Church, rural De Soto. She attended Brown and Prairie View School, and graduated from De Soto High School in 1966. She then attended the professional Business Institute in Minneapolis, and graduated in 1967, as a Laboratory and X-Ray Technician. She served her internship at Caledonia Hospital and Nursing Home. In June 1968, she began working at the Farrell Clinic in Prairie Du Chien, and on June 12, 1971, She married Wayne McVey in Viroqua. They lived for several years at walker, Iowa, until her health failed, when they moved to Viroqua.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; her parents, Marvin and Helen Oliver of Viroqua; two sisters, Luella Oliver, and Katherine (John) Hanson, both of Viroqua; one brother, Perry (Joyce) Oliver of Waukon, Iowa; and other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Russell and Elizabeth Oliver; and her maternal grandparents, Cleveland and Mayme Ames.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Thorson Funeral Home in Viroqua, with Pastor Alice Richards officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Mound Cemetery at Retreat, rural De Soto. Friends May call on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, where a prayer service will be held at 8:30 p.m.. Friends may also call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. on Saturday.
Randy W. Peer
ONALASKA, Wis. - Randy W. Peer, 38, of Onalaska, formerly of Avoca, died on Monday, Aug. 31, 1998, from injuries resulting from an auto accident in Iowa County. He was born on Nov. 16, 1959, to William and Shirley (Olson) Peer in Beloit, Wis. Randy worked in construction most of his life and had been presently employed with Terry White Construction Company.
Survivors include parents, Bill Peer-Avoca and Shirley Peer at Riverdale HealthCare in Muscoda; two brothers, Terry Peer and family of Gotham and Rick Peer and family of Rapid City, S.D.; Randy's aunts, Donna Rakow of Muscoda, Connie Canoy of Muscoda, Rita Draves-Avoca and Lorraine Hilleshiem of Cambridge; Randy's uncles, Dewey Peer of Madison and Monty Logue of Janesville; and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at the Godager Funeral Home in Muscoda. Rev. Richard Orchard will officiate with burial in the Avoca Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. or on Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of the services. The Godager Funeral Home is assisting the family with their arrangements.
Richard `Dick' Tichenor
PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. - Richard ``Dick'' Tichenor, 62, a lifetime resident of Prairie du Chien, Wis., died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at his home. He was born March 22, 1936. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Gabriels Catholic Church and burial, with military rites, in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien, Wis. HIXTON, Wis. - Glen E. Chandler, 88, of Hixton, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, in Family Heritage Care Center, Black River Falls. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton. Burial will be in Pigeon Creek Cemetery, rural Northfield. Ida Mae Barrett Wrabel
PEORIA, Ill. - Ida Mae Barrett Wrabel, formerly of La Crosse and now of Peoria, Ill., passed away in St. Francis Hospital in Peoria on Friday, Aug. 28, 1998, at the age of 64.
She is survived by her husband Bob, two daughters, Marcie and Becky, and one son, Michael, all of Peoria. Also Ida has two sisters, Marjorie Retzlaff of La Crosse and Margaret Jensen of Streamwood, Ill.; and three brothers, Kenneth Barrett of La Crosse, David of Artesia, N.M., and John of Louisville, Ky.
Funeral services will be held today, Sept. 1, in Peoria.
