Kenneth P. Holley
ONALASKA, Wis. - Kenneth P. Holley, 74, died at the St. Joseph Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998. He was born July 12, 1924, in La Crosse to Julius and Tillie (Bergum) Holley. He served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart with an Oak Leaf Cluster. Ken was a member of Carpenters Union #1143 for forty-one years.
He is survived by his wife, Angeline (LaFleur); five sons, Mike (Della) Dolato of Merrill, Wis., David Dolato of Utah, Timothy and William (Maxine) Dolato, both of La Crosse, and Doug Dolato of Sparta; two daughters, Patricia (Herbert) Seidel of Kenosha and Cynthia (Peter) Bolcerek of Bangor; twenty-three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Ansel (Ruth) Holley of La Crosse; a sister, Ardelle (Irvin) Elliott of Bangor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Ronald and Jeffrey; two sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 809 Gillette St., La Crosse. The Reverend Ted Dewald will officiate and burial will be in the Neshonoc Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-3 p.m.

BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. - Leonard P. Johnson, 89, of Black River Falls, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 1998, in Family Heritage Care Center, Black River Falls. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Riverside Cemetery. INDEPENDENCE, Wis. - Lawrence M. Huff, 75, of rural Independence, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998, at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare in Arcadia. He was born Dec. 14, 1922. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church in Whitehall. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Whitehall. Friends may call from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Sunday evening there will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. followed by a rosary at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ervin O. Nerison
WESTBY, Wis. - Ervin O. Nerison, 75, of rural Westby, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 1998, at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. He was born Aug. 13, 1923, in Vernon County, Wis., to Oliver and Esther (Gronning) Nerison. Ervin was baptized and confirmed at Vang Lutheran Church, rural Westby, where he was a lifelong member and served as treasurer. He attended the Nerison School and later was the school clerk for 15 years. On Feb. 24, 1945, he married Alice Ihle at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church.
Ervin was on the Vernon County fair board for 15 years; served as town of Jefferson chairman for 16 years; was elected to the Vernon County board in 1974; and began his 14th term in 1998. On the county board, he served as chairman of the personnel committee; chairman of the highway committee; and as a member of the health committee and the unit on aging committee. In addiiton, he was a Vernon County Farm Bureau board member for 30 years; served as president of Vernon County Farm Bureau and Great Rivers FS for many years; was elected to the State Farm Bureau board; and was on the Vernon Coop Association board for several years. Ervin was a dairy leader for Mills North Springville 4-H Club and a member of the Coon Valley Lions Club.
He served as a director of the Midwest Livestock Coop.; the Rural Mutual Insurance Co., Madison; the Rural Security Life Insurance Co., Madison; and the Wisconsin Marketing Association, Madison.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; his son, Lee (Laura) of rural Westby; his daughter, Linda (Gary) Johnson of Loyal, Wis.; one grandson, Ryan Johnson; and four granddaughters, Heather (Leslie) Ormond, and Thea, Seri and Erin Nerison; three sisters, Katherine (Donald) Johnson of La Crosse, Orvella Nustad of Aurora, Colo., and Lucille (Dick) Wrobel of La Crosse; aunts, Ruth Burke, Enola Iverson and Ruth Nerison; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1979, and his mother in 1995.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, at the Vang Lutheran Church, rural Westby. Revs. Paul Jordahl and Steve Meyer will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Seland Funeral Chapel in Coon Valley on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m., and at the church on Thursday from noon until the time of services.
Robert ``Bobby'' William Richard
Robert ``Bobby'' William Richard, 71, of rural La Crosse, died on Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born in Madison, Minn., on June 17, 1927, to John and Catherine (Kiechler) Richard. He was a 1945 graduate of Aquinas High School. He served in the Army in Germany during the Korean occupation. He had farmed in the Newburg Corners area for most of his life. Robert was a member of the Catholic Foresters, the Bangoe American Legion Post 40, and the Bangor V.F.W.
He is survived by a brother, John (Sonja) Richard of La Crosse; 14 nieces and nephews; and an aunt, Agnes Lueck of Cashton, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents; two nieces; and a sister, Veronica Schmitz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 1998, at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Hundt officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church, on Tuesday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Wednesday, from 9:30 until the time of services. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse is in charge of arrangements.

INDEPENDENCE, Wis. - Edward C. Senty, 89, of Independence, formerly of Montana Township, Buffalo County, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, in his residence. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, in Edison Funeral Home, Independence. Burial will be at a later date in Montana Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services Tuesday, in the funeral home.
Florian A. Lins
READSTOWN, Wis. - Florian A. Lins, 69, of R.1, Readstown, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. He was born Oct. 11, 1928, in Spring Green, Wis., to Albert and Anna (Pronold) Lins. After graduation from Spring Green School, he attended Madison Business College. He then enlisted in the Air Force and while serving in England, he was married to Sigrid Anderson on June 12, 1954. They were later divorced.
Florian worked for Chamberlan Manufacturing in Waterloo, Iowa, as an industrial engineer before moving to the Readstown area, where he served as the Readstown village clerk and treasurer. On Dec. 27, 1978, he was united in marriage to Willeene Otterson. For the past few years he has served as custodian of the Viroqua United Methodist Church.
Florian is survived by his wife, Willeene of Readstown; two daughters, Karen (Bob) Hunter of Celina, Ohio, and Dierdre (Ronnie) Baker of Leawood, Kan.; one son, Gary Lins of Cedar Falls, Iowa; four stepchildren; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Marian Maxwell of Spring Green and Margaret (Robert) Stewart of Brookings, S.D.
His parents; one stepson, Tim Otterson; one brother, Norman; and three sisters, Agnes Berres, Alice Lins and Bernice Serdy preceded him in death.
Florian took pride in his yard and garden, and loved to feed and watch the birds.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at 11 a.m. in the Viroqua United Methodist Church. The Rev. Frank Thompson will officiate, with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Members of the Viroqua VFW Post 3032 and American Legion Post 138 will conduct military rites. Friends may call at the Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua today from 4 to 7 p.m., and at the church on Wednesday after 10 a.m.
