Adeline Doris Wappler
TOMAH, Wis. - Adeline Doris Wappler, 72, of Tomah, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at the Tomah Health Care Center. She was born Feb. 26, 1926, to George and Edna (Sommerfield) Roscovius in the town of Tomah. She was united in marriage to Lloyd A. Wappler on Dec. 12, 1946, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ridgeville. They farmed in the town of Tomah, Valley of Bear Creek, from 1947 to 1992, when they moved to Tomah. Adeline was an active and faithful member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church at Indian Creek. She was active in the ladies aid and was a Sunday school teacher. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, Lloyd, she is survived by a son, Robert (Sharon) of Tomah; a daughter, Linda (Dale) Jessie of Cataract; four grandchildren, Emily, Nathan and Garrett Jessie, and Cherryl (Darrel) Chambers; a sister, Beatrice (Rodney) Calkins of Tomah; four sisters-in-law, Florence Roscovius of Tomah, Marcella (Norman) Austin of Tomah, Berness Hartz of Ashland, and Carol Wappler of Onalaska; and a brother-in-law, LaVern (Lillian) of Tomah. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Raymond; and a brother, Roland.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in the town of Clifton. Rev. Paul G. Heiderich will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Clifton.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
John Robert `Bozo' Eastman
PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. - John Robert ``Bozo'' Eastman, 48, of Prairie du Chien died suddenly Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1998, at Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in St. Gabriel's Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home, Prairie du Chien.[ql]
Cecila T. Eustice
Cecelia T. Eustice, age 87, of La Crosse died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1998, at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, La Crosse.
She was born Jan. 8, 1911, in Clark County, Wis., To John and Mary (Benesh) Babler. She married Frank R. Eustice in La Crosse on Dec. 2, 1939, Cecelia graduated with a B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1932. She worked as a social worker in Madison for several years. After moving to La Crosse, she became very active in volunteer work throughout the area. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was the best grandma in the whole world.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mary T. (Dennis) Kibler of Waterloo, Wis., and Ann C. (Harley) Wenzel of Allentown, Wis.; by a son, Francis J. (Mary) Eustice of Sun Prairie, Wis.; by 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Three brothers preceded her in death.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, Aug. 21, at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The Reverend Lawrence Berger will officiate.

Delbert ``Flash'' A. Nelson
ONALASKA, Wis. - Delbert ``Flash'' A. Nelson, 70, died at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998.
He was born at the Lutheran Hospital, in La Crosse, on Sept. 2, 1927, to Newell and Agnes (Bersing) Nelson. He married Gloria (Gee) on June 9, 1951, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in West Salem.
Delbert was in the Air Force from 1945 until 1947. He was employed by the Borden Company and the State of Wisconsin. Delbert, his wife and children had owned and operated Nelson's A and W in Hixton, Wis., for a number of years. He liked to play cards, especially cribbage.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; a son, Greg (Addy) Nelson of Onalaska; two daughters, Valerie Nelson of Hampton, Va., and Vicky Struznik of Butte, Mont.; four grandchildren, Brooke and Noah Nelson, Eddie and Steven Struznik; two brothers, Newell J. (Linda) Nelson, Jr., and Paul (Hope) Nelson, both of West Bend, Wis.; one aunt, Mabel Ellison of California; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a twin brother, his parents and grandparents.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 401 Main St., Onalaska. The Dr. Reverend Dennis Johnson will officiate and burial will be in the Onalaska Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. and on Friday from noon until the services.

ONALASKA, Wis. - Emma M. Kohlwey, 96, of Onalaska, died on Thursday, Aug. 20, 1998, at St. Francis Nursing Home. Funeral arrangements tentatively set for Monday will be announced by the Dickinson Family Funeral Home of Onalaska.

Agnes Lakey
WARSAW, Ind. - Agnes Lakey, 86, of 211 N. Park Ave., Warsaw, Ind., died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1998, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw, Ind. She was born Jan. 6, 1912, in Blair, Wis. to Elert Nelson and Josephine Quaminne. She has resided in Warsaw, Ind. since 1951. Agnes married Lyle Lakey Oct. 13, 1940, in Blair, Wis. She was a homemaker and member at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw, Ind. and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle Lakey of Warsaw, Ind.; daughter, Lillian Tschantz, Warsaw, Ind.; son, Lyle W. Lakey, Jr. of Warsaw, Ind.; three sisters, Bertha Pearson of Deerpark, Wash., Ruth Stillie of Goshen, Ind. and Anna Arneson of Ettrick, Wis.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Ind. Pastor Gerald Yoder will officiate. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Ind. Visitation 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral chapel. Memorials preferred to Alzheimer's Support Group of Warsaw or Church of God Youth Group.
Josephine `Jo' Gunhilda Arnetveit
VIROQUA, Wis. - Josephine ``Jo'' Gunhilda Arnetveit, 95, died on Wednesday evening, Aug. 19, 1998, at the Bethel Nursing Home in Viroqua, where she had been a resident since June 1994. She was born in Soldiers Grove in Crawford County on July 15, 1903, to Peter and Lizzie (Hanson) Dregne. She was the second oldest of ten children. She was baptized and confirmed at the Franklin Lutheran Church and on Aug. 11, 1928, she married Isaac ``Ike'' Arnetveit. They lived in Viroqua most of their married life and he died on Jan. 3, 1994.
She was a devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and until recent years was very active in her circle and ELCW. She also was an active member of the Rebeccas, Women's Relief Corps, Homemakers, Bethel Home Auxiliary, Senior Citizens and a charter member of the Sons of Norway.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Donna) of Viroqua, Donald of Middleton, Stanley (Kathleen) of Green Lake; five grandchildren, Terri (Tim) Ebert, Brian, Kristin and Erick Arnetveit, Teresa (Rob) Rohloff and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one sister, Louise (Marcellus) Sherry; two brothers, Alvin (Helen) Dregne, Irvin Dregne; and three sisters-in-law, Della Dregne, Helen Dregne and Lorraine Dregne, all of Viroqua. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Norine Tollefson and Helen Wee and four brothers, Clarence, Alfred, Raymond and Lloyd Dregne.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, 1998, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua with Rev. Dr. Steven Fossum officiating. Burial will be in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Sunday after 12:30 p.m. The Thorson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
