Eugene Kryzinski
Eugene Ronald Kryzinski, 74, of Rice Lake died Jan. 5 at Friendship Manor in Rice Lake.
Mr. Kryzinski was born April 9, 1923 to Steven and Anna Kryzinski in Milwaukee, where he attended school. He then worked for TeleDyne Industry in Milwaukee as a tool and die worker until his induction into the Army in 1943. He served in the European Theater of War and in 1946 returned to his job with TeleDyne.
On Dec. 26, 1964 he married Viola Buchholz in Milwaukee. Mr. Kryzinski retired from TeleDyne in 1980, and the couple moved to Rice Lake in 1982. He loved hunting, fishing, and bowling.
Mr. Kryzinski is survived by his wife, Viola; two daughters, Cheryl Shockemoehl of Dubuque, Iowa, and Cynthia Owens of Milwaukee; five grandchildren; two brothers, Richard and Gerald Kryzinski; a half-brother, Ralph Worzola; and two sisters, Bernadine Gorecki and Ruth Gosh, all of Milwaukee.

Donald Lang Sr.
Donald "Banger" Lang Sr., 66, of Cameron died Dec. 25 at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.
Mr. Lang was born to Edward and Bertha (Elliott) Lang on Dec. 1, 1931 at Piper City, Ill. After graduating from Chatsworth High School in Chatsworth, Ill., Mr. Lang served with the Army in Korea. He returned to Chatsworth and was employed by Nichols Home Shield, later named AMSCO, in Chatsworth and Rice Lake for 42 years, retiring in 1996 as plant manager. Mr. Lang had lived in Cameron with his wife, Betty, for the past 1 1/2 years.
Mr. Lang is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, Ronald of Barron and Donald Jr. of Almena; three daughters, Cheryl Mancl of Chetek, Denise Raven of Dallas, and Krystal Rundhaug of Cameron; 16 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; a brother, Merle of Chatsworth; and five sisters, Evelyn Ortlepp and Shirley Edwards of Chatsworth, Betty Hill of Forrest, Ill., Jean Coyle of Lakeland, Fla., and Alma Payne of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Albert Larson
Albert W. "Slim" Larson, 93, of the Chetek area died Jan. 3 at the Barron Medical Center in Barron.
Mr. Larson was born Aug. 30, 1904 to Ole and Maria (Berg) Larson in the Town of Chetek. In 1940 he moved to Algonquin, Ill., and was a farm laborer and factory worker. In 1942 he joined the Army and served in North Africa under Gen. George Patton. In 1969 he returned to Chetek, built a house on Ten Mile Lake and worked as a taxidermist for many years.
Mr. Larson was a member of Chetek American Legion Post 179. He loved hunting, fishing and trapping.

William Lathrop
William John Lathrop, 78, of Rice Lake died Jan. 15 in Seattle, Wash.
Mr. Lathrop was born Nov. 19, 1919 in Rice Lake. He grew up here, enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1941 and earned the Bronze Star for his service with the Flying Tigers in the China/Burma/India theatre of WW II. He married Pearl Hopp and moved to Seattle. Mr. Lathrop operated a service station at Mercer Island, Wash., and later an automotive repair shop, Lathrop and Sons, in West Seattle.
His greatest passion was aviation, and he gave aerial tours to family and friends in his Piper Cherokee.
Mr. Lathrop is survived by his wife, Pearl; three sons, Jon, Patrick, and Arthur; a daughter, Bethany; two granddaughters; and a brother, Edward of Mercer Island.

Edward Motzer
Edward Motzer, 83, of Rice Lake died Jan. 12 at the Lakeview Medical Center here.
Mr. Motzer was born March 26, 1914 at New Auburn to John and Mary (Kramer) Motzer. He worked on the Ed Nelson farm before serving in the Army during WW II. Later, he worked for Birchwood Manufacturing, retiring in 1983.
Mr. Motzer is survived by a brother, Stanley, and a sister, Helen Holst, both of Chippewa Falls.

Alice Nelson
Alice L. Nelson, 90, of Rice Lake died Jan. 18 at Heritage Manor here.
Mrs. Nelson was born in Barron on Aug. 14, 1907 to Oscar and Louisa (Reid) Bergeson. She married Ivar Nelson on April 17, 1937 in the Town of Stanfold, where they then farmed for many years. She was past secretary of the Lutheran Church Women.
She is survived by two daughters, Louise Leikness of Stoughton, and Ruth Cain of Navarre, Fla.; four grandchildren, and two great-grandsons.
Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her husband, Ivar, in 1997.

Blanche Paulson
Blanche E. Paulson, 96, of Barron died Jan. 11 at the Barron Medical Center.
Mrs. Paulson was born on Sept. 20, 1901 at Popple Creek to Melvin and Stella (Seever) Dean. She married Henry Paulson at Menomonie on Nov. 22, 1919. They farmed in Dunn County until 1933 and in Barron County until they moved into Barron in 1955. Mrs. Paulson was a cook at the Barron Hospital for many years and had been a resident of the Parklawn Apartments in Barron for 10 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Irene Miller of Ridgeland and Sylvia Olson of Rice Lake; five sons, Melvin of Dallas, Basil of Haugen, Sherman of Rice Lake, Larry of Almena and Ronald of Cumberland; 26 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and 23 great great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Paulson was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, in 1985; a daughter, Virginia Sykes in 1993; and two grandchildren.

Craig Pedersen
Craig Brian Pedersen, 34, of Cumberland died Jan. 11 at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul.
Mr. Pedersen was born July 16, 1963 in Irvin, Scotland, to the late Harley and Lauralye (Carlson) Pedersen. He attended Milltown elementary schools and graduated from Cumberland High School in 1981. He lived in North Carolina for 15 years following graduation, and returned to Cumberland in March of 1997.
He is survived by a daughter, Ashley and his mother, Lauralye, both of Cumberland; two brothers, Kevin of New Mexico and Randy of Cumberland; and grandparents, Willard and Violet Carlson of Almena.

Dorothy Radevich
Dorothy Radevich, 71, of Chetek and formerly of Argo, Ill., died Jan. 4 at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.
Mrs. Radevich was born March 11, 1926 in Argo, Ill., to Hariton and Mary (Morgucz) Henaluk. On May 15, 1950 she married Dragisa "Jim" Radevich there, and was a secretary/bookkeeper for AFL-CIO there for 26 years. She moved to rural Chetek19 years ago and loved music and playing the piano.
Mrs. Radevich is survived by her husband, Jim; two daughters, Barbara Wilson of Chestertown, N.Y., and Kathy McCauley of Grand Island, Neb.; one grandson; and one sister, Olga Phillips of Justice, Ill. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary.

Mary Rogers
Mary A Rogers, 89, of Milltown died Jan. 5 at the United Pioneer Home in Luck.
Mrs. Rogers was born Sept. 11, 1908 to Martin and Mary Korsan in Centuria. She graduated from high school there. On May 6, 1931 she married Kenneth Rogers there, and they moved to Balsam Lake.
She was instrumental in the move of St. Patrick's Catholic Church from Long Lake to Balsam Lake and was co-founder and first president of Mother Cabrini Altar Society. Mrs. Rogers worked on the Milltown blood bank for many years. She was a clerk at Holmberg Brothers Grocery in Balsam Lake and later at Taylor's Store in Milltown.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by a daughter, Marie Olson of Minneapolis; a son, Kenneth of Almena; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth and son-in-law Arlie Olson.
