CITY POINT, Wis. - Josephine Reshel, 89, of City Point, Wis., died at her home Wednesday, Oct.28, 1998. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, from the Martyrs Chapel, near City Point. Burial will follow in the Spalding Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls, with prayer service at 8:30 p.m.; and also from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the chapel.
Margaret B. Yanz
GALESVILLE, Wis. - Margaret B. Yanz, 83, of Galesville, formerly of Fort Atkinson, Wis., died at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, Wis., Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998. She was born Aug. 2, 1915, at Abbotsford, Wis., to Frank and Sadie (Brown) Schimek. She married Joseph Yanz in 1938 and he preceded her in death in 1978.
She is survived by a son, Gerald (Kathleen) Yanz of New Ulm, Minn.; by a daughter, Veronica (David) Keenan, of Trempealeau, Wis.; by a sister, Florence Hess, of Watertown, Wis.; by seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and three sisters.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Dunlap Memorial Home, Fort Atkinson, Wis. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until the services. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Fort Atkinson. The Dickinson Family Funeral Homes and crematory are assisting with the arrangements.
Barton E. Nelson
Barton E. Nelson, age 76, of La Crosse, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998, in his home. A service of remembrance is tentatively scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, in the Blaschke Funeral Home, 401 West Ave. S. A complete obituary will follow in Sunday's paper.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Kevin E. Stratton, 44, of Indianapolis, Ind., died Oct. 17, 1998, at the Veteran's medical Center in Phoenix, Ariz. He was born on Dec. 18, 1954, to Virgil and Mary Stratton in Indianapolis, Ind.
He served in the United States Air Force, and was active in the community with the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Indianapolis.
He is survived by his daughters, Dosha Taylor of Tomah, and Roberta Fitzpatrick of West Salem; his son, Todd Fitzpatrick of La Crosse; his grandchildren, Ben Fitzpatrick, Nicholas Koboski, Bret and Arika Taylor of Tomah, and Taylor Fitzpatrick of West Salem; his sisters, Dosha Stratton of Hobbs, N.M., Diane Scott of Jacksonville, Fla., Kera Turner of Mooreville, Ind.; his brother, Mike Hurst of Indianapolis, Ind.; and his special friend, Greg Drake.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Karla Benge; and brother, Steve Reinhart.
Memorial services will be at a later date at Washington Park Mortuary in Indianapolis, Ind.

HILLSBORO, Wis. - Irene Vitcenda, age 80 years, of valley, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998, at the St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Hillsboro, Wis. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will be in the Bear Creek Cemetery near LaFarge. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Picha Funeral Home, Hillsboro.

Sharon L. Capek, age 52, passed away from cancer Oct. 29, 1998, while at her home. We wish to thank all the people that offered help and prayers.
Sister Ellen Grace (Serena) Rice, O.P.
RACINE, Wis. - Sister Ellen Grace (Serena) Rice, O.P., 93, passed away at Lincoln Lutheran Home on Oct. 29, 1998.
She was born in Wilton, Wis., on Sept. 26, 1905, to James W. Rice and Anna Probasha. She was a member of St. Mary Parish in Tomah, Wis., at the time of her entrance into the Racine Dominicans.
Sister Ellen Grace, a Racine Dominican for 63 years, had taught in various places for the community, in Michigan at St. Clement, Center Line, and Assumption Grotto, Detroit; Our Lady of Guadalupe, Santa Fe, N.M.; and in Wisconsin at St. Patrick, St., Rose, St. Rita and Sacred Heart in Racine; St. Francis Xavier Merrill; Holy Angels, Milwaukee; St. Bernard, Madison; St. Mary, Kenosha; St. John, South Milwaukee; SS. Peter and Paul, Green Bay; St. Patrick, Sparta and St. Mary, Tomah. She was principal at Sacred Heart, Racine from 1959-1961.
She came to Siena Center in 1993 where she continued to work in community service.
Sister Ellen Grace is survived by a sister, Mary Rice of Tomah, Aunt Agnes Waters of California, nieces and nephews and the Racine Dominican Sisters and Associates. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Sister Carmel, O.P. and Mrs. Loretta Ducklow; brothers, Connie, Fritz, Pat and Joe.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Siena Center Chapel on Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998, at 7 p.m. with Fr. Al Metzger, OSA presiding. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Highway 32. Visitation will be at Siena Center on Sunday from 3:30 until time for the Liturgy. Memorials to Racine Dominican Ministry Fund have been suggested.
Irene Parker-Vitcenda
VALLEY, Wis. - Irene Parker-Vitcenda, 80, of Valley, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998, at the St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Hillsboro, Wis.
She was born on March 25, 1918, to Henry and Mittie (Breidung-Stenerson) Taylor at Valley. She grew to adulthood in the Valley area and attended the Salem and Valley Schools. She was united in marriage to Austin Parker on Nov. 7, 1938. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1957. She later married Paul Vitcenda on Oct. 23, 1959. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1991. She has lived in the Valley area all of her life and operated the Vitcenda Store for 30 years.
She is survived by a son, Norman (Pat) Parker of Valley; a grandson, Robert (Lynette) Parker of Ontario; three great-grandchildren, Samuel, Mike and Cortney Baldwin; a stepson, Donnie (Kathy) Vitcenda of Elroy; two step-granddaughters, Tammy and Angie; and two sisters, Josie Lawrence of La Farge and Nellie Stenerson Knadle of Elroy. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a stepson, Paul E. Vitcenda; brothers, Archie Taylor, Joe Taylor, Jay Taylor, Roy Taylor and Clifford Stenerson.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998, at 1:30 p.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with Rev. Charles Anderson and Rev. Alan Tripp, co-officiating. Burial will be in the Bear Creek Cemetery, near La Farge. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Saturday from 4 to 9 p.m.

VIROQUA, Wis. - Dr. Alvin E. ``Doc'' Kuehn, 91, longtime Viroqua Physician, died on Friday, Oct. 30, 1998, at the Bethel Home in Viroqua. Funeral services will be announced by the Thorson Funeral Home of Viroqua.
