Barton E. Nelson, 76, of La Crosse, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998, in his home. A service of remembrance is tentatively scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998, in the Blaschke Funeral Home, La Crosse. A complete obituary will follow in Sunday's paper.

CATARACT, Wis./SPARTA, Wis. - Nancy Bacon, 53, Sparta, died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998, in her home. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Cataract. Friends may call at the Lanham-Kann Funeral Home, Sparta, on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Gertrude F. Young
ROCKLAND, Wis. - Gertrude F. Young, 87, formerly of the Rockland, Bangor-Burns area, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998, at the Mulder Health Care Facility in West Salem, where she was a resident. She was born Sept. 12, 1911, in Rockland, Wis., to Clifford and Mary (Gaylord) Richmond. She married Ralph Young on Feb. 3, 1934, in Bangor, and he preceded her in death in 1978. Gertrude was a lifelong member of the Rockland Methodist Church and Ladies Aid, and was a very active church member.
She is survived by three sons, Roland (Phyllis) Young of Rockland, Harland (Shirley) Young of Montgomery, Ill. and Command Sgt. Major Richard (Betsy) Young of Fort Riley, Kan.; three daughters, Nina (Ronald) Garbers of Dasel, Minn., Linda (Gerald) Le Jeune of La Crosse and Mary Cassel of Champagne, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Judson and Lee Richmond; and one sister, Nina Sorenson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at the Rockland Methodist Church in Rockland. Rev. John Brouwer will officiate. Burial will be in the Burns Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fossum Funeral Home in Bangor on Sunday, from 6 till 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
Dorothy M. Lokken
BANGOR, Wis. - Dorothy M. Lokken, 89, formerly of Bangor, died on Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998, at the Mulder Health Care Facility in West Salem. She was born Jan. 29, 1909, in Viroqua, Wis., to Monroe and Ida (Hennen) Reed. She married Joseph Lokken and he preceded her in death. Dorothy, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bangor for many years.
She is survived by two sons, Donald (Lois) Lokken of La Crosse and Raymond (Sylvia) Lokken of Milwaukee, Wis.; one daughter, Doris Johnson of Merritt Island, Fla.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; five step-grandsons; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-granddaughter.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at the First Presbyterian Church in Bangor. Rev. Louis Stoker will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Sunday, from 4 till 8 p.m. The Fossum Funeral Home in Bangor is assisting the family with arrangements.

Delia I. Von Haden
TOMAH, Wis. - Delia I. Von Haden, 91, of Tomah, died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998, at the Tomah Care Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, Tomah, on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Arlene L. Omodt
Arlene L. Omodt, 75, of La Crosse, died at Franciscan-Skemp Health Care Center, Friday, Oct. 30, 1998. She was born Sept. 22, 1923, at Stoddard, to Oscar and Esther (Wehling) Kuester. She married Wesley Omodt in 1955.
She graduated from Houston High School in 1941, and attended the Minnesota Secretarial School at Minneapolis. She was a Certified Professional Secretary and a member of Badger Chapter IAAP (Formerly Professional Secretaries International). She began her career with the U.S. Government at Matthews Field, Sacramento, was employed by IBM for sixteen years and was employed by Photo Art Metal, Mid-City Tool and Die and the Downtown Rotary Club.
``An unbroken chain of love existed with Arlene's many cousins and friends. She will live in their memories forever.''
She had been an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
She is survived by her husband, Wesley and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Reverend Ted Dewald will officiate. Entombment will be in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum, Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 809 Gillette St., Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the service.
Wayne R. `Cagy' Calhoun
BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. - Wayne R. ``Cagy'' Calhoun, 68, of rural Black River Falls, died on Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998, in Black River Memorial Hospital as the result of injuries sustained in a car/pedestrian accident which happened near his home.
Wayne was born on Sept. 14, 1930, in La Crosse to Clyde R. and Hazel (Gillen) Calhoun. He was raised in the Ontario area and graduated from Ontario High School. He also attended Western Wisconsin Technical College.
He married the former E. Lorraine Thomas on June 7, 1951, at Cashton, Wis. The couple first lived at the Oak Ridge fire tower cabin for a year before moving to Black River Falls.
Wayne had been a member of the Wisconsin National Guard for 25 years. He served on active duty at Fort Lewis, Wash., from 1961-1962, during the Berlin Crisis.
He was employed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in fish management and field operations for 39 years. At the time of his retirement, Wayne was the DNR district field operations supervisor. He also was a master plumber and owned and operated Calhoun Plumbing of Black River Falls with his son, Steve. Wayne and the late James Hagen also were partners in H & C Rentals for 10 years. He owned a business with Tom Theiler for four years.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; a daughter, Cynthia (Galen) Neubarth of Hudson; a son, Steven (Jeanne) Calhoun of Black River Falls; two grandchildren, Contessa and Cody Calhoun; his father, Clyde Calhoun of Sparta; a sister, Jeanette (Donald) Berg of Wilton; and two brothers, Donald (Doris) Calhoun of Onalaska and William (Delores) Calhoun of Janesville.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Calhoun on Oct. 20, 1998.
Wayne was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Miles-Hagen American Legion Post 200 and the post's firing squad, the Jackson County Wildlife Fund, and the Turtles Club and was a life member of AmVets. He also was an honorary member of the Masonic Lodge No. 74-F. & A.M. Wayne currently was a town of Adams supervisor.
Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph's Catholic Church and burial, at a later date, will be in Riverside Cemetery, both in Black River Falls. Military honors will be accorded Wayne at the church by the Miles-Hagen American Legion Post 200 and the Thompson-Redcloud VFW Post 1959.
Friends may call at the Buswell Funeral Home on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until services. There will be a public prayer service at 8 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home.
The family prefers memorials to either St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Black River Area Foundation-Community Park, the Black River Falls Public Library, the Jackson County Interfaith Caregivers, or any local charity of the donor's choice.
Myron Moore
BARABOO, Wis. - Myron Moore, of Baraboo, died on Friday, Oct. 30, 1998, at the Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, at the age of 79.
Myron was born on Sept. 7, 1919, in Lone Rock, to Dwight and Elizabeth Moore. He married Francis Phelps in 1941, in Dodgeville. Myron resided in Lone Rock, where he operated a grocery business, in Lake Delton, where he operated a motel, and in Baraboo, where he retired. Myron served in the U.S. Army for 39 months and was active in the American Legion in Lone Rock and in Baraboo. He loved golf, and boating, and fishing on the Mississippi river and all of his new friends on Dock 5 of the La Crosse boat harbor.
Myron is survived by, one son, Michael (Ruth) Moore, New Lisbon; one daughter, Linda (Bill) Fleming, Madison; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four sisters; nieces; nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baraboo, with Father Gerald Vosen officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Grove Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells. Friends may call today from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Redlin Funeral Home, and on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
