Keith Walter
Keith Willis Walter, 73, of Stone Lake died Jan. 17 at the Indianhead Medical Center in Shell Lake.
Mr. Walter was born June 19, 1924 to Servington and Ruth (Folmer) Walter. He served in the Army from 1945-1947 and farmed in the area until his retirement in 1994. He married Freda Mikula on June 10, 1949. Mr. Walter was a member of the Stone Lake Lions and had served on the Stone Lake Town Board and the Washburn County ASCS Board.
He is survived by his wife, Freda; two sons, Gary and John, and a daughter, Patricia, all of Stone Lake; and five grandchildren.

Gregory Weber
Gregory Ervin Weber, 71, of Gilbert, Ariz., died Dec. 26 at his home.
Mr. Weber was born April 21, 1926 in Rice Lake to Gregory and Helena Weber.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; one son, Vincent of Chatsworth, Calif.; and two daughters, Kelly Boghian of Las Vegas, Nev., and Shelly Lumbard of Van Nuys, Calif.; and two sisters, Marian Sirek of Mikana and Marcia Kurschinsky of Rice Lake.

Nora Ahneman
Nora K. Ahneman, 88, of Rice Lake died April 18 at Rice Lake Convalescent Center.
She was born April 4, 1909 in Cameron to Peter and Oline (Myer) Egstad. Mrs. Ahneman graduated from Cameron High School in 1927 and the Luther Hospital School of Nursing in 1930. On Dec. 8, 1939 she married Wilfred Ahneman in Mason City, Iowa, and they lived in Eau Claire. After Mr. Ahneman's death in March 1989, she moved to Rice Lake to be closer to her children.
Survivors include a son, John of Cameron; a daughter, Jane Phillips of Rice Lake; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Una Pierce of River Falls and Carol Darrah of Cameron.

Stanley Aaeserude
Stanley W. Aaeserude, 84, died Dec. 31, 1996 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.
Mr. Aaeserude was born May 29, 1912 in Minneapolis to Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Aaeserude. He worked at the Oscar Malum farm in the Town of Maple Grove and took over the farm after Malum's death in 1966. He lived there until his death.
Survivors include three brothers, Theodore of Richmond, Calif., Gordon of Medford, Ore., and Gerald of San Rafel, Calif.; and a sister, Elinor Martenson of New Hope, Minn.

Olaf Berg
Olaf Berg, 80, of Dallas died May 10 at his home.
Mr. Berg was born March 10, 1917 in Barron County to Olaus and Anna (Hagen) Berg. He was raised in Barron County and on June 30, 1946 married Ardys Christianson. They moved to Dallas and farmed for a year. Mr. Berg then worked for Berg's Transfer of Dallas until 1965. He owned and operated a fuel route for Ridgeland Farmers Union, retiring in 1982. Mr. Berg enjoyed singing in the men's chorus, church choir, quartets, trios and duets with his wife. He was a charter member of the Barron County Barbershop Chorus. Golfing, gardening and woodworking were three of his hobbies.
Survivors include his wife, Ardys; three sons, Mark of Platteville, Brad of Tupelo, Miss., and Bryan of West Linn, Ore.; a daughter, Carolyn Wetherby of Mussori, India; three grandsons and six granddaughters; a brother, Adolph Berg of Freeport, N.Y.; and four sisters, Esther Berg, Signe Halverson and Alma Amdall, all of Dallas, and Ruth Davidson of Mankato, Minn.

Lorraine Bertschy
Lorraine Bertschy, 80, of Birchwood died May 7 at Spooner Community Hospital.
Mrs. Bertschy was born to Rudolph and Anna Erlichnann in Milwaukee on Sept. 14, 1916, where she grew up and received her education. She later married LaVerne Jones in Elkhorn. After his death, she worked at Sunny Mere Rest Home in Aurora, Ill., and later at the King County Sanitarium near Mooseheart, Ill. On Sept. 2, 1950 she married Daniel Bertschy in Chicago. After their marriage, they worked on the Spinny Run Farms in Libertyville, Ill., until retiring and moving to the Birchwood area in 1982.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel; a son, Orville Jones of Spooner; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Aimie Kolo of Milwaukee.

Lawrence Briggs
Lawrence V. Briggs, 70, of Spooner died May 10 at the Valley Health Care Center in Hayward.
Mr. Briggs was born Oct. 8, 1926 in the Town of Sherman in Dunn County to Curtis and Rosa (Randall) Briggs. He grew up in the Lampson area and attended Spooner High School. On Nov. 21, 1946 he married Dorothy Mae Poirier, who died this year on March 15. Mr. Briggs served in the Army from Dec. 21, 1944 to Nov. 20, 1946, mostly in the Philippines. He was employed by Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 44 years on track maintenance. Mr. Briggs was a member of the Masonic Lodge F and AM 260 in Spooner and the Spooner American Legion Moe Miller Post 12. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include a son, Richard of Largo, Fla.; and five grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by two infant children.

Carol Darrah
Carol N. Darrah, 75, of Cameron died May 10 at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.
Mrs. Darrah was born July 5, 1921 in Cameron to Peter and Oline (Myer) Egstad. The lifelong Cameron resident graduated from high school in 1939. Her first job was with the Farmers Store there, and later she worked in the office at Abbott's Dairy in Cameron. On Oct. 16, 1955 she married Frank Darrah at Faith Lutheran Church in Cameron. Mrs. Darrah later worked as a bookkeeper at Lakeside Methodist Hospital in Rice Lake and the REA in Barron. She worked as a bookkeeper for Cameron Schools until retiring in 1975.
Survivors include her husband, Frank; two daughters, Susan McCabe of Owatonna, Minn., and Diane Terrell of Cameron; a sister, Una Pierce of River Falls; and four grandchildren.

Olga Eidahl
Olga M. Eidahl, 91, of Rice Lake died May 17 at Heritage Manor in Rice Lake.
Mrs. Eidahl was born July 16, 1905 in Clam Falls. At age nine she moved with her family to Rutland, N.D. On Jan. 23, 1923 she married Peter Eidahl and moved to Barron County. The couple farmed for several years before buying and operating general grocery stores in Mikana and Almena. Mr. Eidahl died in May 1953. After his death, Mrs. Eidahl worked at Birchwood Manufacturing in Rice Lake for 23 years. After retiring, she lived in Cameron for 5 years before returning to Rice Lake, where she lived at Riverside Arms until April of this year. Mrs. Eidahl was a longtime member of her church, listening to radio services when she could no longer attend. She also crocheted baby caps for the Lakeview Medical Center Auxiliary for the past 18 years.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond and Orlen, both of Rice Lake; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Elsie Jacobson of Forman, N.D.
She was preceded in death by a grandson.

Agnes Floberg
Agnes Floberg, 100, of Auburndale, Fla., and formerly of Rice Lake, died May 13 in Lakeland, Fla.
The former Agnes Larsen was born to Carrie and Martin Larsen on Oct. 5, 1896 in Rice Lake. On May 25, 1921 she married Clarence Floberg in the Town of Stanfold. They lived and farmed in the Town of Rice Lake for 59 years and were charter members of their church.
Survivors include two sons, R. LaVerne of Hemet, Calif., and Neal of Auburndale; and seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, and a son, Clyde.
