Lucille J. `Tiny' Briggs Sneath
ONALASKA, Wis. - Lucille J. ``Tiny'' Briggs Sneath, 85, died at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center on Friday, Oct. 16, 1998. She was born June 28, 1913, in La Crosse, to Frank and Alma (Knudson) Hicke. She attended Central High School. On May 3, 1930, she married Otto Briggs and they later divorced. She married Perley Sneath on Oct. 17, 1959, and he preceded her in death on March 14, 1988. Lucille had worked at the Electric Auto-lite for twenty-five years. Perley and Lucille had lived in Okauchee, Wis. until they retired and moved to Onalaska.
Lucille enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards, bowling, dancing and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by two daughters, Patti Briggs of Onalaska and Barbara (Keith) Huber of Holmen; seven grandchildren, Vicki (Shannon) Remus of Westminster, Md., Susan (Gene) Waldenberger, Sally (Tom) Granum, Jeff (Cindy) Ammerman, Greg (Sue) Ammerman, all of Holmen, Michael and Paul Ammerman, both of La Crosse; sixteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ray Hicke of La Crosse, Shirely Hicke of Oak Park, Ill. and Wallace Hicke of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Ione Lingard of La Crosse; numerous nieces and nephews; step-grandchildren, Sandy (Rick) Feyen of La Crosse, Rhonda Mullen of Holmen and Pam (Dennis) Kaye of Vertura, Iowa; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and stepchildren from her second marriage.
In addition to her husband, Perley, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Dolores Krajewski.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 809 Gillette St., La Crosse. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 809 Gillette St., La Crosse, on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Carol A. Rogge
WEST SALEM, Wis. - Carol A. Rogge, 66, of West Salem, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998, at her home. She was born July 1, 1932, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Vernon and Eleanor (Riesen) Mickelson. In June, 1949, she married Anthony D'Amato and he preceded her in death in November 1980. She then married L. Allan ``Bud'' Rogge on May 21, 1983, in Milwaukee and they lived there until 1996, when they moved to West Salem.
Survivors include her husband, L. Allan ``Bud''; two sons, Mark D'Amato of Minneapolis, Minn. and Joseph (Peggy) D'Amato of Hartford, Wis.; one daughter, Susan D'Amato of Milwaukee; three stepchildren, Stephan (Sandra) Rogge of La Crosse, Mark (Holly) Rogge of Boston, Mass. and Paul (Melissa) Rogge of West Salem; five grandchildren, Andrea, Nina, Adam, Michael and Nicholas; her mother, Eleanor Mickelson of Milwaukee; a brother, Evan Mickelson of South Milwaukee; her father-in-law, Ernest H. Rogge of Tomah; three sisters-in-law, Sarah Giddings of Milwaukee, Ruth (Merlin) Baker of Stockholm, N.J. and Evelyn (Lloyd) Hanson of Kendall, Wis.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her father and a brother.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 11 a.m. from the Jostad-Jandt Funeral Home, 121 N. Youlon St., West Salem. Rev. Paul R. Johnston of Christ Lutheran Church, West Salem, will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Tomah, Wis. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and also on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to any cancer research or heart disease research fund.

Mariann Mildred Hesik
Mariann Mildred Hesik, 63, of La Crosse, died on Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998, at the Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Medical Center. She was born on July 31, 1935, in Chicago, Ill., to Frank and Frances (Zavesky) Hesik. Her father preceded her in death in 1945, and up until her own death, Mariann had lived with her mother.
Mariann dedicated her entire life to Catholic Schools. After receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Education she worked for the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools, first as a teacher and then as a principal. After relocating with her mother to Rock Island, Ill, she served as a principal in the Jordan Catholic School System and later became its area coordinator. For the last eleven years she served as the Assistant Director of Schools for the Diocese of La Crosse where she helped oversee 86 catholic schools. Mariann also received her Master's Degree in Education and served as a reader and lecter at St. Pius X parish in La Crosse.
Mariann is survived by her mother, Frances Hesik of La Crosse.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Most Reverend Raymond L. Burke, Bishop of La Crosse will be the principal celebrant and Rev. Joseph J. Rafacz will be homolist. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. A Rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Amanda R. Nelson
WESTBY, Wis. - Amanda R. Nelson, 92, of Westby, died Friday, Oct. 16, 1998, in La Crosse. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Vang Lutheran Church, rural Westby. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, Westby. Friends may also call after noon on Monday at the church. Gladys Dahl Scott
LA CROSSE, Wis./COON VALLEY, Wis. - Gladys Dahl Scott, 87, a resident of the Bothne House in Coon Valley and formerly of La Crosse, died Friday, Oct. 16, 1998.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, rural Viroqua. Friends may call on Monday at the church after 10:00 a.m. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family. A complete obituary will appear in Sunday's Tribune.

Bryce D. Tryggestad
GENOA, Wis. - Bryce D. Tryggestad, 65, died suddenly on Thursday evening, Oct. 15, 1998, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse of an apparent heart attack after collapsing in Genoa. He was born on June 7, 1933, at rural Viroqua to Vernon and Helen (Skrede) Tryggestad. He graduated from Viroqua High School in 1951, and then served in the U.S. Army. On Dec. 17, 1955, he married Rachel Hilton. He worked at Bucyrus Erie in Milwaukee for over thirty-five years and traveled extensively to China, Europe, South Africa, Japan and most of North America as a representative for the company. They had been charter members of St. Stephens the Martyr Lutheran Church in Greendale. In 1989, they retired to rural Genoa where they became members of the Middle Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Rachel died on May 2, 1998. Bryce was also a member of the Genoa-De Soto American Legion Post No. 246, and the Genoa Lions Club of which he had served as president and also had received the Melvin Jones Award.He is survived by four daughters, Kimberly Tryggestad of La Crosse, Renee Tryggestad of South Milwaukee, Christine Tryggestad of Milwaukee and Tina (Richard) Baumgartner of Brookfield; four grandchildren, Devon, Chelsea, Anna and Elise; three sisters, Luan (Ronald) Fredrickson of Viroqua, Sharon (Tom) Steiner of Eden Prairie, Minn., Linda (Charles) Ashley of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Gary (Susie) Tryggestad of Warner Robins, Ga., Lynn (Mary) Tryggestad of Viroqua; his step-mother, Jennie Tryggestad of Boscobel; other relatives and many friends. He was also preceded in death by his mother in 1964 and his dad in 1989.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at the Middle Coon Valley Lutheran Church, rural Chaseburg with Pastor Luther Borgan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites by Genoa-De Soto American Legion Post No. 246. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Thorson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church after 10 a.m. on Monday.

Joan M. Long
MANSFIELD, N.J. - Joan M. Long, 44, of Mansfield township, died Friday, Oct. 16, 1998, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, Penn. She was born in La Crosse, Wis. She resided at Columbus for the past six years. Joan was employed as a Sales Manager Coores Products for Hub City Distributing Company, Lawrence township, for ten years.
She also was the manager for Greenstreet and Hudalbrau Restaurants, Trenton. She was a 1992 graduate of Trenton State College with a BA in Business Administration. She was a member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church, Roebling and was the Fund Raiser Chairperson for the Trenton Sunshine Foundation.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest R. Long; a daughter and son-in-law, Desieree and Chris Barker, Columbus; a son and daughter-in-law, Ernest and Debbie Long, Florence; two sisters, Lois Stemper, Caledonia, Minn. and Jane Strittmater, La Crescent, Minn.; a brother, David Roesler, La Crosse, Wis.; two grandchildren, Darian and Jeffrey; mother-in-law, Irene Long; Aunt and Uncle Rose and Steve Ducsai, all of Roebling; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Ave., Roebling. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Holy Assumption Church, Roebling. Burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Monday 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Christian wake services will be conducted during this time.

Donald A. Bisek
ARCADIA, Wis. - Donald A. Bisek, 64, of Arcadia, Wis., died Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998, at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Monday, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Wozney Funeral Home, Arcadia, where there will be a Rosary at 7:30 and 8 p.m. Friends may also call from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
