Vernon R. Lokken
BLAIR, Wis. - Vernon R. Lokken, 80, of Molalla, Ore., and formerly of Blair, Wis., died on Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998, in his home.
Vernon was born on Oct. 11, 1918, in the town of Preston, Trempealeau County, Wis., to Alf and Lucy (Anderson) Lokken. He was baptized in Nov. of 1918, and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church in Blair, Wis., on May 14, 1933.
Vernon was a skilled carpenter by trade, and was involved in the construction of large dams all over the United States. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1408 of Eau Claire, Wis., a life long member of the Elks Lodge #538 of Grass Valley, Calif., the Eagles Lodge #3284 of Woodburn, Ore., and the Grace Lutheran Church in Molalla, Ore.
Mr. Lokken is survived by his special friend, Lucille Walch of Molalla, Ore.; six children, Beatrice (David) Erickson of Longboat Key, Fla., Gerald (Shelby) Lokken of Eau Claire, Wis., Donna Runice of Berlin, Wis., Richard Lokken of San Diego, Calif., Roger (Sharon) Lokken of De Forest, Wis., and Vicki (Leslie) Otterson of Everett, Wash.; two brothers, Milton (Helen) Lokken of Loyal, Wis., and Clayton (Voris) Lokken of Nevada, Iowa; a sister, Adella (Ray) Brey of Pittsville, Wis.; an aunt Myrtle Lokken of La Crosse; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998, at 1:30 p.m. in the First Lutheran Church with burial in the Rest Haven Cemetery; both in Blair, Wis. Rev. Kevin Jones will officiate.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998, from 4 to 8 p.m., in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair, Wis., and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.

INDEPENDENCE, Wis. - Marcel J. Lyga, 84, of Independence, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, in Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, in SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., with 7:30 p.m. prayer service and an 8 p.m. rosary, Tuesday; and 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, in Edison Funeral Home, Independence.
Hazel Kohlmeyer
GALESVILLE, Wis. - Hazel Kohlmeyer, age 86, of Galesville, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at Marinuka Manor Nursing Home in Galesville, Wis.
Hazel was born June 5, 1912 to Ole and Gudrum (Whiteberg) Oanes in McKenzie, N.D.
She graduated from Galesville High School and attended the Winona Business College. On Oct. 1, 1934, she married Wilfred ``Bill'' Kohlmeyer in Red Wing, Minn.
Hazel worked at the Coast to Coast Store in Galesville.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Galesville.
She is survived by two sons, Hugh (Bev) of Galesville, Wis., and Gene and special friend Marylee Doud of Black River Falls, Wis.; two granddaughters, Karie (Tim) Tolvstad of Holmen, and Karen (Brian) Sandmire of La Crosse. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998, at Zion Lutheran Church in Galesville. Rev. Arnold Flater will officiate. Burial will follow in Pine Cliff Cemetery in Galesville.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998, at the Zwickey Funeral Homes in Galesville, and from noon until 1 p.m. at the church on Wednesday.
