March 25, 1997. Age 74 years. Beloved of Ruth (Kleczka). Dear mother of Irene Butzin of Chicago, IL and Alice (Ray) Kintop. Preceded in death by brothers Jerome, Erwin and Zygmunt Kaminski and sister Ceil Tortomasi. Dear sweetheart of Leanna Kryszak. Further survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Tues. at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home. Services at 9:30 AM at the BASILICA OF ST. JOSAPHAT. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery. Al was a proud veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, a retiree of Sun Bias Co. where he worked for 41 years, and a member of the 49'ers Club. Marie Orlikowski
Marie Orlikowski, 90, of Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Athens, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999 at her Florida home.
She was born July 21, 1909, in Medford, daughter of the late George and Amalia (Halm) Rosner. She married Alexander Orlikowski on Nov. 30, 1939, at St. John's Catholic Church, Wuertzburg. He preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1981.
Marie Orlikowski moved to Port Richey from Athens on May 15, 1999. She was a member of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in Port Richey, and St. Anthony Catholic Church in Athens; she was a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women.
Survivors include five daughters, Rose Caliva, Port Richey, Amalia Lewis, Goulais River, Ontario Canada; Frances Pecher, Shawano, Kathleen Wilson, Milwaukee; and Therese Wilson-Suday, West Allis; two sons, David Orlikowski, Eagle River; and Gerard Orlikowski, Athens; 29 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lorraine Murkowski, Wausau. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sons, Daniel, Michael, Lawrence and Alex Orlikowski Jr.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Athens. The Rev. Randy E. Olson presided. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Athens.
Allan Writz
Allan "Sam" Writz, 59, Athens, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, the result of an automobile accident.
He was born Dec. 27, 1939, the son of Jacob and Irene (Ellenbecker) Writz. He was divorced. Writz served overseas in the U.S. Army, and retired from GTE Telephone in 1992.
Survivors include his mother; Irene Writz, Athens; and four sisters, Geraldine Scheve, Alaska; Maggie Guralski, Monroe; Shirley Bergman, Athens; and Debbie Klinger, Bayfield.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Kraemer Funeral Home in Athens. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Pallbearers will be Kenny Writz, Leon Writz, John Writz, Jeff Ellenbecker, Mike Ellenbecker, and Glen Luetschwager.
James Krueger
James Krueger, 60, Mitchell Lane, Town of Berlin, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999 at the Wausau Hospital.
He was born Dec. 23, 1938 in Wausau, the son of Paul and Anna (Butt) Krueger.
He married Alice Kufahl on July 12, 1958 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Town of Pine River. She survives.
Krueger was a lifelong dairy farmer in the Town of Berlin until 1993 when he became employed as a fork lift operator for Menzner Lumber Company, Marathon.
He was an employee of Warren Londerville's Holstein Haven and assisted his son, Dale, in his logging business. He enjoyed playing cards, deer hunting and gardening.
Besides his wife, survivors include a daughter, Debra Grueneberg, Merrill; two sons, Dale Krueger, Merrill, and Greg Krueger, Wausau; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Brunow, Wausau, and Dorothy Wiesman, Wausau; three brothers, Raymond Krueger. Wausau, Melvin Krueger, Minocqua, and Bennie Krueger, Wausau.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 30, at Trinity Lutheran Church (WELS), Town of Berlin. The Rev. Jeffrey Schmidt will preside. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Berlin.
Pallbearers will be Harvey Blade, Gerald Duwe, Robert Giese, Melvin Klebnow, Dennis Voigt and Gordon Woller. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Grueneberg and Justin Grueneberg.
Ezra Sprotte
Ezra Elijah (Bedroske) Sprotte, 11 years old, Abbotsford, died on Sept. 23, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, due to a sudden illness.
Funeral services were held Sept. 27 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Dorchester, with Rev. Jerome Freimuth presiding. Burial was in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Ezra was born on April 27, 1988, in Marshfield. He was currently a sixth grade student at the Colby Middle School. Ezra enjoyed being involved in sports and was a member of the CUDA Pop Warner football team and wrestling team and the Milan Little League softball team. He also played the tuba in the Colby Middle School band and was an active member in the Holton 4-H Club. Ezra loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed helping his dad on the farm. Ezra was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where he attended sunday school and the TGIF youth group.
He is survived by his parents, Steve and Colleen Sprotte of Abbotsford; one brother, Paul Sprotte, and one sister Cassandra Sprotte, both at home; grandparents: Wallace and Dorothy Sprotte of Abbotsford, Howard and Myrtle Bedroske of Dorchester and Arlene Dennis of Bloomer; great-grandmother Alma Lineaweaver of Abbotsford; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and school friends.
Pallbearers were David, Russell, Loren, Kevin and Gary Bedroske and Nathan Sprotte. Honorary pallbearers were Ben Bedroske, Eric Brusky, Vincent Mohan, Christopher Shotliff, Tyler Brandl and Logan Becker.
A memorial in Ezra's name will be designated at a later date.
Maurina Funeral Home of Dorchester assisted the family with arrangements.
Clifford Rauscher
Clifford Rauscher, 73, Green Bay, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999 at a local hospital.
He was born in Athens, on July 5, 1926, the son of the late John and Alva (Liberty) Rauscher. Rauscher served in the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II as a staff sergeant.
He married the former Naomi Bero on February 7, 1953 in Green Bay.
Rauscher was employed 40 years for Pauly Cheese Company, retiring in 1988. He was a Cub baseball fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, traveling.
Besides his wife, Rauscher is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Rauscher, Green Bay; two sisters, Ella Goldbach, Green Bay, Mary Ann Zocher, Athens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Arthur Rauscher.
Otto Hoge
Otto Hoge, 89, a 30-year resident of Olympia, died of cancer Monday, July 31, 2000 at Puget Sound Health Care Center, Olympia, Wa.
A memorial was held Wednesday, Aug. 2 at Olympic Funeral Home, Tumwater, Wa.

Clarence Duerr
Clarence A. Duerr, 75, STH 64, Athens, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
Funeral services were held on Friday at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Goodrich.
The Rev. Carl Busse presided. Burial was in Athens Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends called on Thursday at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, and again Friday until the time of services at the church.
There was a prayer service Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Michael Hoff, Jon Intribus, Jesse Eckert, Dustin Duerr, Ryan Day and Charlie Duerr.
