Mary Potaczek, 77, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001 at Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation in Medford where she had resided for the past month.
Funeral services were held Aug. 13 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford.
The Rev. Dennis Meulemans presided.
Burial was at the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford.
Pallbearers were Gene Title, Mark Dassow, Ryan Seidl, Gary Waldhart, Steve Potaczek and Mark Potaczek.
Hemer Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
David Lesczynski
David Bernard Lesczynski, 55, died Saturday, August 4, 2001 in Kirksville, Mo. where he resided.
He was a former Athens resident.
He was a graduate of St. Anthony's Catholic School, and a graduate of the Athens High School.
Funeral services were held Aug. 8 at the Catholic Newman Center, Kirksville, Mo. with the Rev. Oligschlaeger presiding.
Pallbearers were Alfred Cadena, Sr., Alfred Caden, Jr., Bryan Collier, Jim Speelman, Winston Vanderhoof and Michael Willman, Jr.
Honorary bearers were Michael Bird, Ralph Cupelli, Bill Floyd, Bill Lovegreen, Jack Magruder and Glen Wehner.
The Travis-Noe Funeral Home, Kirksville, Mo. assisted the family with arrangements.
Hugh McNeight
Hugh "Laddie" McNeight, 82, Colby, formerly of Stratford, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002 at at Colonial Center, Colby.
The funeral was held Friday at Sauter/Kundinger Funeral Home.
The Rev. Kenneth Dix presided.
Burial was in the Ebenezer United Church of Christ Cemetery, town of Cleveland.
William Oestreich
William H. Oestreich, 85, Marathon, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday, at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Marathon.
The Rev. Jon Hadler presided. Burial was in the Edgar Cemetery.
Leona Patricia Dohanik Foss
ORLANDO, Fla. - Leona Patricia Dohanik Foss, 63, of Orlando, Florida, died Tuesday, September 9, 1997 of cancer.
A memorial service was held in Florida on Sunday, September 14, 1997, at her home.
Born in Toronto, Canada, Mrs. Foss graduated from Women's College Hospital School of Nursing and from the University of Western Ontario.
She practiced as a registered nurse in the Toronto area and taught nursing at Woodstock (Ontario) General Hospital.
Mrs. Foss made her debut into Toronto society at the Royal Canadian Artillary Ball in 1954.
She married Karl Frederic Foss of Onalaska and moved to the United States where their children Rebecca Jean and Steven Peter were born. While in the Orlando area, Mrs. Foss operated two businesses: a floral business, Floral Fantasies and a wedding consulting business, Fairytale Weddings, since 1978.
She is survived by her husband, Karl, formerly of Onalaska; her children; and her Mother of Toronto; and a sister of Molakai, Hawaii; and her husband's brother's family, Peter Foss, of the Detroit area.
Her in-laws, J. Dewey and Elsie Foss of Onalaska, pre-deceased her.
Memorial donations in the name of Leona Foss may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Elnora Louise Moe
ONALASKA, Wis. - Elnora Louise Moe, 73, of Onalaska, Wis., died on Friday, September 26, 1997 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse.
She was born on August 25, 1924 in Viroqua, Wis., to Irvin and Esther (Rose) Getter.
She married Ralph Moe on March 15, 1948 in La Crosse, Wis.
Elnora was a faithful member at the Salvation Army Church for 13 years and loved to volunteer her time for bell ringing or whoever needed her.
She had a love for life that was infectious and whoever knew her loved her.
Elnora touched many lives.
She had many hobbies she enjoyed besides her volunteer work.
She loved her friendships, embroidery, baking, reading and her beloved cats.
Elnora is survived by four daughters, Linda (Albert) Rogge of Genoa City, Wis., Carolyn Girard of La Crosse, Barbara Yanske of Hokah, Minn., and Darlene Leaks of Onalaska; one son, Gary Moe of Galesville, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; a sister, Lois Pittenger of La Crosse; a brother, Maurice Getter of Virginia Beach, Va.; and her three cats, Tinkerbell, Pumpkin and Mokie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; a son, Robert Moe; her parents; a brother, Bernard Getter; and a son-in-law, Darrell Leaks.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 29, 1997 at 1 p.m. at the First Fellowship Baptist Church.
Rev. Jerry Armstrong and Major Larry Thorson will officiate.
Burial will be in the Stoddard Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from noon until the time of services.
Evelyn R. Torrey
TOMAH, Wis. - Evelyn R. Torrey, age 62, of Tomah, died Friday, September 26, 1997 at her home.
Private funeral services will be held on today.

Earl Eugene Briggs
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Earl Eugene Briggs, born November 25, 1914 in Holland Township, Wis., Earl entered into rest on September 14, 1997, in Sacramento, Calif.
Loving husband of Katherine Briggs, and devoted father to children, Kay Briggs, Sacramento, Calif., George Briggs, Tulare, Calif., Conrad Briggs, Placerville, Calif. and Annette Risedorf, San Miguel, Calif.
Loving brother to Lorraine Huggett, Onalaska, Wis. and Raman Briggs, Kokomo, Ind.
He is survived by beloved grandchildren, Vikki Reimer, Randy Calvin, Renee Calvin, Anthony Briggs, Christina Briggs, George Briggs Jr., Sandra Briggs, Samantha Fisher, Melissa Greeno, Troy Risedorf, Alisha Risedorf and 12 great-grandchildren.
A native of Wisconsin, Earl lived in Holmen, Wis., for many years where he worked for Holmen Co-op Creamery.
He moved his family to La Crosse, Wis. in 1956, where he owned and operated Briggs' Bluff View Dairy.
He retired from Land O' Lakes Dairy in 1982 when he and Katherine moved to California to be closer to their children.
Earl began working for California Veterinary Diagnostics Lab after he moved to California, suffered a stroke in early 1996 but continued to work there until December 1996 when he fell and broke a hip.
He began singing in Barbershop choruses and quartets many years ago in La Crosse, and remained an active member of the Highwheelers Chorus in Davis, Calif., joining in their singing when they visited him in Somerset Nursing Center in West Sacramento, Calif.
Earl's family, Barbershop friends and many other friends participated in the celebration of his life on September 17, 1997.
Earl will be remembered by all who met and loved him as a gentle, kind and caring man with a winning smile and one who contributed much to family, church and friends.
He will be greatly missed, but finally will rest in peace with God.

Lawrence V. Garavalia
BLAIR, Wis. - Lawrence V. Garavalia, age 77, died Sept. 26, 1997 at his home in Blair, Wis.
He was born in Genoa, Wis. June 10, 1920, the son of Vincent John Garavalia and Mary Katherine Trusoni.
He married Vera May Snider on July 9, 1955 in Waukon, Iowa.
As a young man, Lawrence farmed in Genoa, Wis. and later worked as a welder at Warner N. Swazey in Winona, Minn.
Vera and Lawrence made their home in Orlando, Fla. where Lawrence worked as a welder at Hubbard Construction for 21 years.
He and Vera moved to Blair in 1990. Lawrence enjoyed selling produce at the La Crosse Farmers Market.
Friends will remember him as Grandpa.`
Survivors include his wife, Vera of Blair; their children, William (Judy) Fuller of Vicksburg, MS., Arnold (Pauline) Fuller of Orlando, Fla., David (Rita) Fuller of Kingsport, Tenn., Bruce (Nova) Fuller of Tangerine, Fla., Leah (Allen) Dias of Orlando, Fla. and Mary Garavalia of Los Angeles, Calif. Also two brothers, Ralph Garavalia of La Crosse, Wis. and Douglas (Caron) Garavalia of Racine, Wis. and a sister-in-law, Ardyce Garavaliz of Warrens, Wis.; 15 grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Gregory and Carl and one grandson.
Services will be held at the Jack Funeral Home in Blair on Tuesday, September 30, 1997 at 11 a.m. with David Tschanze conducting the Service.
Visitation will also be at the Funeral Home in Blair on Monday, September 29, 1997 from 4 till 8 p.m.
Burial will be at the Green Mound Cemetery in Holmen.
Dr. Charles J. Hodulik
TOMAH, Wis. - Dr. Charles J. Hodulik, 74, of Tomah and formerly of Wilton, died Sept. 26, 1997 at his home in Tomah.
He was born Oct. 30, 1922 to Anthony and Elizabeth Hodulik in Clinton, New Jersey.
He graduated from Michigan State Veterinary College, East Lansing, Mich. in 1944.
Prior to his retirement in 1987 he worked in his own veterinary practice and as a district veterinarian for the state.
He was united in marriage to Beatrice Limp on May 26, 1947 in Clinton, N.J.
She preceded him in death Jan. 15, 1994.
He was united in marriage to Maleda Erbs Drinkwine on June 17, 1995 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wilton.
They have resided in Tomah since that time.
He was a member of Wilton American Legion Post #508, past member of the Wilton Lions Club, a member of various veterinarian organizations, and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Maleda of Tomah; two daughters, Rosemarie (Bruce) Hoesly of Waunakee and Susan (Jeff) Essenmacher stationed with the U.S. Air Force in the Netherlands; four sons, Dr. Charles Hodulik and his fiancee Tammy King of Madison, Steven (Lynn) Hodulik of St. Paul, Minn., James Hodulik of Wichita Falls, Tex. and Dr. Michael (Jenny) Hodulik of Florence, Ore.
Three step-sons, John (Betty) Drinkwine of Olympia, Wash., Stuart (Cathy) Drinkwine of Tomah, and Curtis (Vicki) Drinkwine of Forest Lakes, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Jennifer and Sarah Hodulik, Emily and Elizabeth Hoesly, Alex and Laura Essenmacher, and Hannah Hodulik; eight step-grandchildren, Leo, Rebecca, Mirmani, Keri, Tashina, Derrick, Christopher, and Dominick Drinkwine. One brother, Joe (Betty) Hodulik of Vero Beach, Fla., two sisters, Rose (Joe) Follayttar of Bergenfield, N.J. and Margaret (Ed) Miska of Staunton, Va.
He is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his first wife Beatrice he was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Julius, George and Anthony.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wilton.
The Very Rev. James P. McNamee will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery at Wilton with military honors by American Legion Post #508.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Smith-Nelson Funeral Home, 702 Center St., Wilton on Tuesday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayer services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
