Keith A. Ramberg, 42
Keith Alan Ramberg, 42, of River Falls died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, at his home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1955, at the River Falls Area Hospital, the son of Clifford Ramberg and Margaret (Hurtgen) Ramberg.
He was married on Feb. 10, 1997, to Michelle L. Greenwood in River Falls. They since divorced.
He was employed at NorLake and the Disney Corporation of Florida. He played in fast pitch softball leagues and was a member of Rush River Lutheran Church in rural River Falls.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melanie; and a brother, Rodney.
He is survived by his sons: Clayton, Grant and Rocky Ramberg, all of Pelham, Ala.; his parents: Clifford and Margaret Ramberg of River Falls; his sister, Eileen and Thomas Sempf; two nieces and two nephews.
Funeral was Monday, Sept. 21, at Rush River Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Sutherland officiating.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wayne Ramberg, Brian Ramberg, Stanley Ramberg, Paul Ramberg, Art Jacobson and Jerry Dumond.
Honorary pallbearers were: Bruce Ramberg and Paul Peterson.

Willard Albertson, 83
Willard Albertson, 83, a long-time resident of River Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998, at The Lutheran Home: River Falls.
He was born Aug. 20, 1915, the son of William A. and Anna (Oak) Albertson. He attended school in Deer Park. On March 31, 1938, he married Thelma M. Brathall.
After working on several farms, Willard and Thelma moved to River Falls in 1942, where he worked at the River Falls Creamery. He was employed at Andersen Windows in Bayport, Minn., where he worked for 25 years until his retirement.
He spent most of his time working in the cross milling department, where he was known as an expert for his work on the cross milling saws known as "Monkey Island." He and Thelma were very proud of his work there.
Willard loved working with wood and could be found most of the time in his well-equipped shop. He produced many cutting boards, cribs and toy cabinets. His love of a good piece of wood was renowned. His love for his children and grandchildren was also a big part of his life.
He was a member of Ezekiel Lutheran Church for most of his life. He had a great and bountiful life and is joining his wife and best friend in the hereafter, along with his granddaughter, Abby.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma, who died Oct. 7, 1990; his sisters: Ina Price of Georgia and Emily Adams of California; a brother Norman Albertson of River Falls; a step-sister, Luella Lund; step-brothers: Albert, Hank and Lester Landaal; and a treasured granddaughter, Abby Bergeson.
He is survived by three daughters: Myrna and Larry Larrabee of Ellsworth; Ginger and Dale Bergeson of Colfax; and Cynthia and Fred Grassl of Oldsmar, Fla.; two sons: Gary and Edna Albertson of Cook, Minn., and Jimmy and Jean Albertson of River Falls; two special friends who were like daughters to him: Linda Peterson of Jefferson, Mo., and Judy Doerfler of Webster, Minn.; a brother, Harris and Eleanor Albertson of Hammond; a half-brother, Alfred and Ferris Landaal of River Falls; a half-sister, Alice and Richard Young of Kalispell, Mont.; two step-brothers, Wilbert and Margaret Landaal; three step-sisters, Minnie Cline, Helen Frederick and Margaret and Marvin Wynveen, all of Baldwin; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Monday, Sept. 28, at Cashman Mortuary.
Funeral was Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Ezekiel Lutheran Church. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Alan Larrabee, Jason Larrabee, Bronson Bergeson, Guy Albertson, Jerry Albertson and Shawn Frandrup.
Honorary pallbearers were: Lori Frandrup, Jodi Caswell, Megan Bergeson, Abby Bergeson, Debbie Feuerhelm, Jessie Albertson, Tabatha Bergeson and Zachary Grassl.
Amos T. Bakke, 78
Amos Theodore Bakke, 78, of River Falls died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1998.
He was born Oct. 8, 1919, in Alberta, Canada, the son of Nettie (Blackmer) and Alfred Bakke. He will be missed by his wife, Marcella (Aasterud) Bakke. He married Marcella on Oct. 7, 1943, while on leave from the U.S. Navy.
He spent over 3 years fighting in World War II. After being injured in battle when his ship, the U.S. Aaron Ward was sunk, he was discharged.
He and Marcella spent many years farming outside of River Falls. In 1960 they left the farm and moved into the city of River Falls working for Rural Mutual Insurance Co. until his retirement in 1977.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nettie and Alfred; a brother, Richard; and sisters: Ruby, Glady and Jean; a daughter, JoAnn; and a great-grandson, Ryan.
He is survived by his wife, Marcella; a sister, Mary Macknee of Oregon; a brother, Ronald of California; a son, Larry and Rita Bakke; two daughters: Jeannie and Jerry Solum of River Falls, and Cheryle and Jim Bartosh of Minog; 11 grandchildren: Lisa and Brenda Bakke, Lora and Tony James, Kris and Troy Larson, Jennifer and Mark Sveen, Jackie, Joanna and Jamie Bartosh, Julie and Nick Schmitz, Chantel and Zachary Amos Solum; and four great-grandchildren: Abby, Dylan, Evan and Josie.
Services were held at Ezekiel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dave Kebshull officiating. Music was provided by Lee Swenson.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry and Zachary Solum, Joel Wondra, Tony James, Troy Larson, Craig, Jim and Joe Bakke. Honorary pallbearers were Harry Peskar and Don Rudisell.

Patricia A. Gerner, 60
Patricia A. Gerner, 60, of Oshkosh and formerly of River Falls, died suddenly on Sept. 16, 1998, in Oshkosh.
She was born July 19, 1938, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Steven and Elizabeth Masarik. She married Kenneth C. Gerner on Oct. 27, 1979, in Fond du Lac.
She had lived in River Falls from 1986-1995. She was self-employed, doing alterations out of her home and then getting into the crafting field making clothes for Barbie dolls. Later she was known in the area for the beautiful American Girl doll clothing she made.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; her daughter, Laura Lynn Williams of River Falls; her step-daughter, Kathy Gerner of Oakfield; her parents, Steven and Elizabeth Masarik of Fond du Lac; seven brothers: David and Joseph Masarik of Fond du Lac, Michael Masarik of Ripon, James Masarik of Maui, Hawaii, Dennis Masarik of Chicago, Jerome Masarik of Fond du Lac, Tom Masarik of Milwaukee; one sister, Betty Hanke of Lombard, Ill.; and two very special grandchildren: Kailey and Jag Williams of River Falls.
Funeral was Sept. 21 in Fond du Lac, with the Rev. John O'Brien officiating.
Cremation of her remains has taken place.
Milton P. Arndt, Jr., 63
Milton P. Arndt, Jr., 63, of Ladysmith, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at Rusk County Hospital in Ladysmith.
He was born May 10, 1934, in Milwaukee, to Milton and Marion Arndt. He married Darlene Lorraine Johnson of River Falls on June 13, 1959.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene; three sons: Thomas and Lina Arndt of Goodhue, Minn., Robert and Carmen Arndt of Burlington, Wash., and Tyson Arndt of LaMore, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two brothers: Richard of Hastings, Minn., and Kenneth of Ashland.
Mass of Christian Burial was March 5 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Ladysmith.
Gilbert A. Derman, 82
Gilbert A. Derman, 82, of River Falls, died Sunday, June 21, 1998 at the Kinnic Long Term Care facility.
He was born in Anamoose, N.D., on Dec. 11, 1915, the son of Thomas and Carrie Derman. He was a veteran of World War II serving for over 4 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #121, the River Falls Masonic Lodge and the River Falls United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marian; and his son, Bob, of River Falls; a brother, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Derman; and two sisters: Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Deans and Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Dockter.
Funeral was Tuesday, June 23, at the River Falls United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Stannard officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Lawrence W. Scott, 74
Lawrence W. Scott, 74, of River Falls, died Monday, June 15, 1998 at the River Falls Area Hospital following a brief illness.
He taught chemistry at UW-River Falls from 1961 until his retirement in 1988. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kan., in analytical chemistry and a Ph.D. in food science from the University of Missouri, Columbia, in 1970.
He was a member of the American Chemical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Institute of Food Technologists, the Association of University of Wisconsin Professionals and the Unitarian Universalist Society.
He was co-author of "Chemistry for Changing Times," a laboratory manual used for teaching chemistry to non-science majors.
Prior to teaching at UW-RF, he worked as an asphalt chemist for the Kansas Highway Department. From 1954-61 he was an analytical chemist for the Utah and Idaho Sugar Company in Salt Lake City.
He served in the U.S. Army counter-intelligence corps and medical corps during and after World War II.
He met Elizabeth C. Bailey in Japan while serving in the Army and married her in Japan on March 11, 1949.
During his retirement years, he served as a volunteer tax preparer for the American Association of Retired Persons, a driver for the local Meals on Wheels program and as a host at the Willow River State Park Nature Center.
He was a lover of Newfoundland dogs and was a founder and an active member for many years of the Northstar Newfoundland Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth C. (Beth) Scott; and his parents: Joseph and Lois Scott of Manhattan, Kan.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Scott of Stockton, Calif.; three children: Rosemary and Thomas Tyson of Richmond, Va., Jeffery and Barbara Scott of River Falls, and Jon Scott of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and two grandchildren: Andrew and Rebecca Scott, both of River Falls.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 29, at 7 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Society, N8236 945th St., River Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to the River Falls Public Library Foundation.
