Timothy McAndrew
Timothy "Emil" McAndrew, 46, of Winona, Minn., died March 13 at La Crosse Lutheran Hospital.
Mr. McAndrew was born Nov. 20, 1950 in Rice Lake to William and Patricia (Mally) McAndrew. He moved from Tiffin, Ohio, to Winona in 1963. He graduated from Winona Cotter High School in 1968 and attended the Winona Area Vocational Technical College, where he received his State of Minnesota engineer's license. He also attended Winona State University for 2 years. He had been the operations manager/production director for May Broadcasting of La Crosse since 1990. Mr. McAndrew was a musician, both playing and recording music. He had played in several bands, including the Ferraris, the North Country Band and WEDG. He was also a co-owner of Emil's Place in Winona from 1980-82.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia of Irwin, Pa.; four brothers, Michael of Santa Maria, Calif., John of Minnetonka, Minn., Paul of St. Paul, and Patrick of Greensburg, Pa.; and two sisters, Mary McAndrew of Jeanette, Pa., and Rebecca McAndrew of South St. Paul.
Cleo McDonald
Cleo McDonald, 81, died March 4 at Heritage Manor in Rice Lake.
The former Cleo Rose was born Nov. 20, 1915 in Bertiville, N.D. After the death of her first husband, Donald Blauer, in Sauk Rapids, she married Burley McDonald on Jan. 2, 1979 in St. Cloud, Minn. They resided in Minneapolis for several years, and in 1982 they moved to Rice Lake. Mrs. McDonald was known for her piano playing.
Survivors include her husband, Burley; two daughters, Sandra Jenkins of San Antonio, Texas, and Mona Robinson of Oak Park, Minn.; four sons, Rex Blauer of Oronoco, Minn., Bradley Blauer of Sauk Rapids, and Brian and Kurtis Blauer, both of Sartell, Minn.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; her mother, Jessie Ruben of Sauk Rapids; a stepdaughter, Sharon Kuhns of Burnsville, Minn.; and three stepsons, Gerald McDonald of Fridley, Minn., Dennis McDonald of Laguna Hills, Calif., and Kenneth McDonald of Rice Lake.
Thomas Matthys
Thomas Lee Matthys, 42, of Vadnais Heights, Minn., died March 10 at St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, Minn.
Mr. Matthys was born May 31, 1954 in Cumberland to Morris and Agnes (Copeland) Matthys. He graduated from Cumberland High School in 1972. In 1974 he graduated from Dunwoody Institute in the baking division. Mr. Matthys was employed as a bakery manager at Jerry's Cub Foods in Edina, Minn.
Survivors include his mother, Agnes of Cumberland; two brothers, Gary of Barron, and Randy of Augusta, Ga.; and four sisters, Virginia Sande of Fridley, Minn., Patricia Quernemoen and Nancy Prescott, both of New Brighton, Minn., and Susan Oswald of Chetek.

Peggi Meyers
Peggi Jean Meyers, 38, of Rice Lake, died March 8 as the result of an accident in Bloomer.
Mrs. Meyers was born June 9, 1958 in Silver Bay, Minn., to Paul and Virginia (Richter) Feiertag. She married Dan Meyers on Aug. 5, 1978 and was later divorced. Mrs. Meyers was raised in Silver Bay and graduated from Silver Bay High School in 1976. After graduation she moved to Rice Lake. She attended college at Eau Claire and was attending classes at UW-Stout.
Mrs. Meyers is survived by a daughter, Jessica, and a son, Daniel; her sisters, Patty Dockendorf of Lino Lakes, Minn., and Judy Fuchs and Julie Schaefer, both of St. Cloud, Minn.; grandmother Malinda Richter of Comstock; and her parents, Paul and Virginia Feiertag; and companion Ike Vick of Comstock.
Donald Morley
Donald E. Morley, 75, of Birchwood died March 19 at Rice Lake Convalescent Center.
Mr. Morley was born April 28, 1921 to Frank and Mary Morley in Hayward. He resided in Barron County, where he worked in construction as a mason. Mr. Morley lived in Birchwood for the past 11 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry of Iowa and Julius of Birchwood; three daughters, Judy Conoboy of Chetek and Jeanette Licht and Joy Dery, both of Eau Claire; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Woodrow of Spooner and Frank of Minnesota.
Albert Nordin
Albert William Nordin, 82, of Cumberland and formerly of Almena, died March 13 at Cumberland Hospital.
Mr. Nordin was born Nov. 5, 1914 in the Town of Turtle Lake to Olaf and Charlotte (Nordstrand) Nordin. On April 17, 1940 he married Grace Lewis in the Town of Prairie Farm. He had farmed most of his life near Arland. After retirement, he was a Green Thumb worker for several years in the county.
Survivors include his wife, Grace; a daughter, Laurie Olson of Fall River; a son, Larry of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ina Bjurstrom of Prairie Farm.
A son, LeRoy, died in 1988.
Donald Olson
Donald E. Olson of Chetek died March 3 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.
Mr. Olson was born July 17, 1946 in Leona to Elmer and Viola (Hansen) Olson. He worked for many years as a security guard for St. Luke's Hospital in Racine and also as a private security guard. He had lived in Chetek, Racine and Eau Claire.
Survivors include three sisters, Betty Good of Racine, Dora Ames and Hope White; and a brother, David, all of Chetek.
Elaine Olson
Elaine "Dolly" Olson, 72, of Prairie Farm, died March 10 at Barron Medical Center.
Mrs. Olson was born July 28, 1924 in the Town of New Haven, Dunn County, to Peter and Emma Peterson. On July 3, 1945 she married Albert Olson in Prairie Farm. They had farmed in the Town of Prairie Farm, and Mrs. Olson later worked for Jerome Foods in Barron. She was a member of the Friendship Circle at her church.
Survivors include her husband, Albert; a son, Jerry of Barron; two grandsons; a brother, Art Peterson of Roberts; and five sisters, Olga Christenson and Rosella Johnson, both of Ridgeland, Vera Hrdlichka of Menomonie, Lotus Nevin of Almena and Mary Lou Anderson of New Richmond.
Harlend Robinson
Harlend J. Robinson, 73, of Brown Deer died March 18 at his son's home in Kenosha.
Mr. Robinson was born Dec. 3, 1923 in Freemont to John and Irene (Yates) Robinson. He married Coleen Steffen on Oct. 16, 1945 in Illinois. He graduated from Milton Union High School in Milton. He had been a maintenance technician for apartment complexes in the Milwaukee area. He served in the Navy as the ship cook from 1943-46. Mr. Robinson was a member of the American Legion of Milwaukee.
Survivors include his wife, Coleen; son John, Steven and David, all of Kenosha; three sisters, Murial Bickle of Edgerton, Sylvia Wenzel of Janesville and Lilia Kock of Whitewater; and six grandchildren.
