Ferkovich-Burbey, 79
Norma Ferkovich-Burbey, 79, died peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, surrounded by her family and under the care of Flambeau Home Health and Hospice.
Services were held Saturday, Oct. 14, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Park Falls; Father James Jackson officiating.
Burial was in Nola Cemetery, Park Falls.
She was born Feb. 12, 1921, in St. Paul, MN. Her parents were George and Bessie (Borgen) Cheesebrow.
She grew up and attended school in Rice Lake and Park Falls.
She married Frank Ferkovich Dec. 12, 1939, in Park Falls. He preceded her in death in 1977.
She married Ron Burbey Sept. 1, 1978.
She was a very special lady who loved crossword puzzles, weekly magazines, malted milks, jewelry, poetry, a big, fat ballpoint pen, long-sleeve shirts, shoes and bird watching.
She is survived by her husband; three children, Carol (Robert) Little, James (Janalee) Ferkovich and Laurie (James) Herbst, all of Park Falls; three step-children, Gretchen Burzinski of Amherst, John (Laura) Burbey of St. Paul, MN, and Brenda (Bill) Paduan of Rothschild; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to Flambeau Home Health and Hospice.
Thorp, 55
Roland A. Thorp, 55, of Glidden, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at Flambeau Hospital, Park Falls.
Services were held Saturday, Oct. 21, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, Glidden; Father John Scheer officiating.
Burial was at Most Precious Blood Catholic Cemetery.
He was born May 4, 1945, in Glidden. His parents were Walter and Irene (Shilts) Thorp.
He grew up and attended school in Glidden.
After graduating from Glidden High School, he moved to Milwaukee and worked in sewer and water construction.
He married Karen Zach June 19, 1965, in Glidden.
The couple lived in Milwaukee until returning to Glidden in 1967.
He started his own logging business, then went to work at Flambeau Paper Mill in Park Falls.
In 1989, he began commuting to Milwaukee, where he was a foreman for American Sewer and Water Corporation.
He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Kim (Brian Mikkonen) of Iron River; a grandson; his daughter Kristie’s fiance Jeff Johnson of Burlington; brothers Phillip (Lois) Thorp of Rothschild and Roy (Helene) Thorp of Juneau; six sisters, Uneda Gonia of Ashland, June Wolf of Glidden, Bridget Gruber of Park Falls, Shirley Winkler of St. Louis, MO, Caroline (Joseph) Kovach of Ashland and Sarah Nelsone of Milwaukee; and by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kristie, in 1996; two brothers; and a sister.

Stumreiter, 86
Ludwig F. Stumreiter,86, of Fifield, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at Flambeau Hospital, Park Falls.
Services were held Monday, Oct. 23, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Fifield; Father Clement Sobr officiating.
Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery, Fifield.
He was born Jan. 10, 1914, in Fifield. His parents were Alois and Amelia (Schwartz) Stumreiter.
He grew up and attended school in Fifield.
He attended Normal School in Phillips to attain a teaching degree. He then attended Mount Senario College in Ladysmith, where he received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education.
He taught in various communities throughout Wisconsin before retiring in 1979.
He married Florence Garska in 1969 in Shawano. She preceded him in death, and in 1995, he returned to the Fifield area.
He was a life-long member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by two nieces, Mary Jo (John) Nickum of Denver, CO, and Elaine (William) Westphal of Park Falls; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and by 17 brothers and sisters.
Klein, 93
Helen E. Klein, 93, of Fifield, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips.
Services were held Friday, Oct. 20, at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel, Milwaukee; Father Marvin Lazarski officiating.
Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery.
She was born July 18, 1907, in Beaver Dam. Her parents were John and Juliania (Drozie) Betla.
She moved with her family to Hillstown, PA, where the family owned and operated a farm.
She married Joseph Weindorfer in 1924 in Hillstown, PA. He preceded her in death in 1938.
The couple moved to Milwaukee in 1930. She worked at Briggs and Straton Co.
She married Kenneth Klein in 1944. He preceded her in death in 1983.
She moved to West Palm Beach, FL, in 1984, and to Fifield in 1990.
She was a member of a Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary unit in Milwaukee.
She is survived by two sons, John (Elizabeth) Weindorfer Sr. of Fifield and Nicholas (Patricia) Weindorfer of West Palm Beach, FL; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Conrad (Mary) Betla of Kissimmee, FL; and by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and a daughter, Dorothy in 1934.
Darlene Fay Kronberger
Age 54, of Park Falls, died after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday July 27, 2000 at Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. She was born on July 21, 1946 in Mauston, the daughter of William and Viola (Bader) Fields. She was a graduate of Anoka High School in Anoka, Minnesota. After vacationing in Park Falls throughout her life she came to Park Falls in 1964 and worked for Hicks Landing in Fifield. On November 14, 1964 she married Frank Kronberger in Park Falls. She was a sales representative for many years at Suburban Furniture & Carpet in Park Falls. She enjoyed gardening and nature. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday July 31, 2000 at 10:00am from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls. Fr. James Jackson will officiate.
Burial will follow at St. Cecelia Catholic Cemetery in Butternut.
A visitation will be held at the Novitzke Funeral Home – Park Falls on Sunday July 30, 2000 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a parish prayer vigil at 7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church or Flambeau Home Heath and Hospice would be appreciated.
John Anderson Camp
Age 65 of Park Falls, WI, died Saturday July 29, 2000 at the Veterans Hospital in Iron Mountain, MI. He was born December 21, 1934 in Draper, WI the son of Louis and Lillian (Gould) Camp. He attended school in Draper until the family moved to Maynard, AR. He then entered the U.S. Navy serving for 21 years until retiring in 1972. He married Jeanette Stutzman they later divorced and he moved to Park Falls. In 1977 he married Agnes (Hovanecz) Rose. The couple then spent their summers in Park Falls and their winters in Bracketville, TX. He was a member of the DAV, the Loretta-Draper American Legion and the Fleet Reserve.
He is survived by his wife Agnes of Park Falls, WI and Bracketville, TX.

Burial will follow at the Loretta-Draper Cemetery with military rites under the auspices of the Loretta-Draper American Legion Post.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 1, 2000 from 4:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Novitzke Funeral Home in Park Falls, WI.
Franklin James Seitz
age 87, of Fifield, WI, was called to heaven on Tuesday May 8, 2001. He was born January 31, 1914 in Loyal, WI the Son of Arthur & Clara (Andraska) Seitz. His early life and schooling were in Spencer, WI where he married his first wife Helen Martin and was employed with Land O' Lakes Cheese. Their union brought four children- Dean (Edith) Seitz of Costa Rica, Karen (Jeff) Shannon of Antigo, WI, James (Pat) of Milwaukee, WI and Gary (Tina) Seitz of Milwaukee, WI.
In 1960 he moved to Duluth, MN and drove for Greyhound Bus Lines. He Married Arlene Eikanger on Dec. 8, 1962 in Duluth, MN and the couple moved to Eau Claire, WI and in 1965 to Fifield, WI. He retired from Greyhound after 33 years and they worked and raised a family on their beef cattle farm for the past 36 years. Their marriage gave them five children: Jerry(Michelle) Seitz of Spooner, WI, Kim Busakowski of Ironwood, MI, Glenn (Debbie) Seitz of Fifield, WI and Beth (Neal) Zirbel, of Fifield, WI and Vicki Seitz of Fifield, WI.
In addition to driving for Greyhound, Frank was president of the Fifield Congregational Church, and president of the Fifield Lions for many years, served as supervisor for the Town of Fifield and filled the position of Town Chairman for several years.
Frank will be missed by his wife Arlene, his nine children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his Infant Daughter Janice.
Frank was a wonderful husband and a very loving father and grandfather. His greatest pride was his compassion for his family and his love of farming. He will always be remembered for his strength, warmth, and most of all, his great sense of humor.
Funeral services will be held on Friday May 11, 2001 at 10:00a.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church in Park Falls, WI with Rev. Bryan Lundquist officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Home Cemetery in Fifield, WI.
Visitation will be held on Thursday May 10, 2001 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Novitzke Funeral Home in Park Falls and on Friday May 11, 2001 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
