Sheldon Siebold, 80, formerly of Hammond, died Monday, Nov. 9, 1998, at The Lutheran Home: River Falls.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, at Cashman Mortuary. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 13, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hammond.
Sharon P. Smith, 36
Sharon P. Smith, 36, of River Falls died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
She was born Feb. 10, 1962, in Chicago Heights, Ill., the daughter of Martin and Margaret (Tegetmeyer) Piepenbrink. She graduated from high school in New Lisbon in 1980.
On July 14, 1984, she married Brian Smith in Hustler. They lived in various communities including Mauston, Rockford, Ill., Harvard, Ill., Sharon, St. Paul, Columbia Heights, Minn., and New Lisbon. For the past 4 years they lived in River Falls.
She was employed at The Lutheran Home: River Falls as a housekeeper. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, Brian, of River Falls; two sons: Andrew and Jeremy at home; her father, Martin Piepenbrink of Camp Douglas; one brother, Victor and Rita Piepenbrink of Crete, Ill.; four sisters: Suzanne Piepenbrink of Camp Douglas, Theresa and John Kazort of Harvard, Ill., Joyce and Ed Mniszewski of Carmel, Ind., and Gail Severson of Mauston; six nephews and three nieces.
Funeral was Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Faith Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Schmeling officiating. Beth Schmeling was the organist and Ruth Stern was the soloist.
Pallbearers were: Joe McCune, Pat Lawrence, Michael Kazort, Eric Pettis, Steven Pettis and Tom Trautt.
Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Glenn O. Nelson, 78
Glenn O. Nelson, 78, of Danbury died Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998, at Unity Hospital in Fridley, Minn.
He was born on March 24, 1920, in Beldenville, the son of Arthur and Nora Nelson. He married Mabel Mehrkens on June 27, 1942, at Grace Lutheran Church in Goodhue, Minn.
He and his family moved to River Falls in 1956, where he helped raise three children while working in the Twin Cities area. In 1978 he and his wife moved to Webster, where he retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Nora; two brothers: Harley and Clifford; one infant daughter, Charleen; one daughter, Marilyn; one grandson, Brian; and a son-in-law, Jerry.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel; his daughter, Karen Kielas; his son, Ronald and Linda Nelson; five grandchildren: Sandra, Stacy, Joshua, Timothy and Jeremy; four great-grandchildren: Lowein, Tyson, Winston and Serena; sisters: Arlene and Don Beale, Florence and Randolph Hanson, and Grace Nelson; a brother, Robert Nelson; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral was Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Ezekiel Lutheran Church with the Rev. William Montgomery officiating.
Pallbearers were nephews: Dale Olson, Brent Mehrkens, Mark Mehrkens, Corey Nelson, Alan Nelson and Chuck Nelson.

Joseph R. Dusek, 77
Joseph Roman Dusek, 77, of River Falls died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
He was born on Aug. 9, 1921, in River Falls, the son of Joseph and Mary (Andrle) Dusek. He attended Clifton Hollow School. He farmed in the Mann Valley area until 1974 and then worked for the River Falls School District. He retired in 1987.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary; his son, Dale; his brothers: Clarence, Leonard, Ganus and Edward; and his sister, Adeline Warnberg.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Grace (Langer); his sons: Roman and Marilyn of River Falls, Gerald and Onnalee of Arkansaw; Randy and Barb of River Falls, and Ron and Lisa of Houston; his grandchildren: Sean, Traci, Lori, Geri Marie, Kelly, Nathan, Christopher, Ashley, Aimee, Brett and Lexie; and his great-grandchildren: Josh, Katie, Danielle, Chas, Ali and Brian.
Funeral was Tuesday, Nov. 10, at St. Bridget Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Bridget Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Peter Zugschwert, Roger Curtis, Dean Langer, Tom Dusek, Greg Dusek and Dennis Dusek.

Leanne Melvin, 78
Leanne Melvin, 78, of Baldwin died at the American Heritage Nursing Home in Hammond on Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998.
She was born in Kentucky on Feb. 13, 1920. She married Donald Melvin. He died in 1986.
She was a past member of the Assembly of God Church. She was active with Senior Statesman, was a transportation volunteer and was a member of the Council on Aging.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; two sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her daughters: Nona Marquart of Forest Lake, Minn., and Deanne Ashoff of Woodville; sons: Don Melvin and Terry Melvin, both of Baldwin; her sisters: Pearl Nicholson of River Falls, Mary Nagle of Lake Forest, Calif., Helen Bowen of River Falls, and Lorraine Scherick of Arizona; a brother, Max Kokott of Utah; a special friend, Mary Bond; five grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be Thursday, Nov. 12, at 1:30 p.m., at Cashman Mortuary. Visitation will be at Cashman Mortuary from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Don Melvin, Terry Melvin, Larry Marquart, Robert Shoff, Duane Smith and Robert Theese. Honorary pallbearers will be: Nathaniel Marquart, Justin Vandermeuse, Ron Theese and Anthony Marquart.

Hazel M. Beebe, 87
Hazel M. Beebe, 87, of River Falls, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998, at The Lutheran Home: River Falls.
She was born July 14, 1911, on the family farm outside of Houlton, the daughter of Christian and Wilhemine (Strutz) Wanner. When she was 3 months old, the family moved to Almena. She graduated from Cumberland High School in 1929.
From 1929 to 1933, she attended Minneapolis Business School, Hamline University, and River Falls State Teachers College.
She married Nolan Beebe, the son of Clinton and Ethel Beebe, on Jan. 16, 1933, and lived in River Falls for the rest of her life. She worked several years as a sales clerk in Skogmos Clothing Store and the Ben Franklin Variety Store.
Following her retirement in 1985, she attended Senior Outreach Studies classes at the university, continued to support high school sports and music activities and was active in Ezekiel Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan, who died on Nov. 19, 1980; three brothers: William, Robert and Kenneth Wanner; and her parents, Christian and Wilhemine.
She is survived by two sons: Daniel and Barbara Beebe of Coon Rapids, Minn., and Wayne and Kathye Beebe of River Falls; one daughter, Marion Beebe of Tomah; one brother, Edgar and Irene Wanner of Almena; three grandchildren: Susan Beebe of Prior Lake, Minn., Sharyl Beebe of Jackson, Wyo., Holly and Jeff Pizzi of River Falls; and sisters-in-law Mrs. Robert Wanner and Mrs. Kenneth Wanner.
A memorial service was held Monday, Nov. 23, at Ezekiel Lutheran Church. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Gordon L. Nelson, 75
Gordon LaVerne Nelson, 75, of Maiden Rock, died in his apartment on Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998.
He was born in Maiden Rock on May 17, 1923, the son of George N. and Ellen (Olson) Nelson. He attended Plum Creek School. He farmed in the Maiden Rock and Plum City areas until 1972.
He was employed at the Farmers Union Elevator in Ellsworth from 1974-1984. He owned and operated the Nelson Watkins and Gift Shop in East Ellsworth from 1984-1986, then moved his business to Maiden Rock, where it was called the SeaWing Gift Shop, which he operated until his death.
He enjoyed hunting when he was younger. He enjoyed family gatherings and reading newspapers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ellen; two brothers, Clinton and Eldon; and one sister, Josephine Stockwell.
He is survived by his sister, Ruth and Doyne Anderson of River Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Sunday, Nov. 22, at Swandby-Murphy Funeral Home in Maiden Rock, and one hour prior to the services at the United Methodist Church on Monday.
Memorial service was held Monday, Nov. 23, at the United Methodist Church in Maiden Rock with the Rev. Bernie Setterlund officiating. Organist was Luella Dettling, accompanied by congregational singing.
Interment was in the Maiden Rock Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Lyle Stockwell, Donald Stockwell, Calvin Stockwell, Daniel Anderson, David Anderson and Douglas Anderson.
