Rochelle Christensen
Rochelle M. "Rocky" Christensen, 46, of 1318 Terrill St., Chippewa Falls, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born July 1, 1954, in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Donald A. and Wilma J. (Isham) Thornton. She graduated from McDonell High School in 1972. She worked at Uniroyal for 19 years and was currently employed at 3M in Cumberland. She was a member of Lac Courte Oreilles Tribe in Hayward, Eau Claire Ski Club and Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls.
She is survived by two daughters, Amy (Tony) Seils of Waukesha and Rebecca Teigen of Chippewa Falls; her parents; four sisters, Donita (Charles) Bowe, Cynthia (Ric) Gannon, both of Chippewa Falls, Stephanie (Michael) Benson of Eau Claire and Jerilyn Thornton of Rochester, Minn.; three nephews, Thomas J. "TJ" Hestekin Jr. of Eau Claire, Jamie Bowe and Nathan Gannon, both of Chippewa Falls; four nieces, Melissa Booher of the Netherlands, Jody Bowe of Madison, Pepsi Gannon of Chippewa Falls and Mina Benson of Altoona.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charles and Martha Thornton; maternal grandparents, Albert and Mary Isham; and one brother, David Thornton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2001, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Dan Alexander will be officiating. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls and one hour before services at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church Thursday.
We should not grieve in her passing, but celebrate her life.
Connor Frank
Connor Ryan Frank, Feb. 27 to March 1. Although he was only with us a very short time, Connor touched us all deeply. He will be greatly missed, but not forgotten. We all loved him.

He was preceded in death by Great-Grandfathers, Leonard Lee and Richard Frank Sr.; and Great-Uncle, James Lee.
Funeral services were today, March 5, 2001, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Burial is in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends called an hour before services at the church.
Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
H. Keith Gullickson
H. Keith Gullickson, 74, formerly of the Eau Claire area, died recently in South Haven, Minnesota. A memorial service was held March 3rd at St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale, Minnesota.
Keith graduated from Mondovi High School. He owned and operated Northwest Electric in Altoona.
Keith is survived by his wife, Ardy; children, Kit (Karen), Linda (Don), Brian (Evelyn), Kerry (Cheryl), Julie (Jeff), Kim (Greg), Blaine (Cindy), Rick (Janet) and Rob (Karen); sister, June (Kerm) Walker; nephews, Kim (Pam) Walker, Rick (Brenda) Walker and Mike (Joann) Walker; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Val Gullickson.
Keith served his country in the Korean War and was buried in Fort Snelling.
Robert Herman
THORP -- Robert (Bob) Charles Herman of 302 W. Hill Street, Thorp, Wis., died at his home in the loving arms of his wife and five daughters on Friday, March 2, 2001.
He was born on August 18, 1925, in Thorp to Charles and Gertrude (Bogumill) Herman. He was a 1943 graduate of Thorp High School and attended UW-Madison. Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943, and served as a Radarman, 3rd Class with the U.S. Pacific Fleet during WWII. While serving his country aboard a mine-sweeper, Bob was severely injured when his ship was hit by a kamikaze plane, an event that earned him a Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged from the military in 1945.
On February 7, 1948, Bob married Colleen (Biddle) Herman at St. Bernard Church in Thorp. They had five daughters. For over thirty years, Bob and Colleen owned and operated Herman's Bar. Bob was also employed with the U.S. Postal Service from 1949 until his retirement in 1980.
Bob was a lifelong parishioner of SS. Bernard-Hedwig Catholic Church, where he was a member of its Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a proud member of American Legion Post #118, serving for a time as finance officer.
Bob will be dearly missed by his family, which includes his wife; his five daughters, Twyla (George) Lato of Muskego, Wis., Lynn Herman (Bruce Virgin) of Cambridge, Wis., Sherrie (Roger) Szemraj of Janesville, Wis., Robin (Jim) Erickson of Eau Claire, Wis., and Jane (Cliff) Hollister of Thorp; nine grandchildren, Anissa, Christopher, Paul, Rebecca, Scott, Sara, Mark, Nick and Danielle; three great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Ryleigh and Nathan; two sisters, Theresa Pease and Jeanne Herman, both of Thorp; one brother, Gerald (Rosemary) Herman of Janesville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and four sisters.
Bob's greatest love was for his faith, family and friends. He also loved hearing and telling jokes, playing cribbage, sheepshead, poker, buying lottery tickets and sinking the eight-ball into the last pocket. He was instrumental in establishing the Thorp Men's Pool League and was a participant until November of 2000.
Bob's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of St. Joseph's Hospice, Chippewa Falls, for its care, kindness, guidance and comfort.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at SS. Bernard-Hedwig Church on Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. John Puerner officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Thorp Funeral Home today, March 5, 2001, from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
Robert Krueger
BLOOMER -- Robert A. Krueger, 81, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2001, at Bloomer Medical Center.
He was born February 24, 1920, in the town of Cleveland to Paul and Lydia (Kressin) Krueger. He married Malinda Hurt April 21, 1942, in Cornell. He served in the Army during WWII and was a milk hauler for Babbitt Brothers Transportation for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bloomer American Legion and V.F.W. Robert was very proud of his country and enjoyed carrying the American Flag during many parades.
He is survived by his wife, Malinda of Bloomer; one brother, Allen (Elsie) Krueger of Bloomer; two sisters, Lucille Hilger of Bloomer and Doris (Robert) Lane of Bloomer; sisters-in-law, Irma Hurt and Eunice Krueger, both of Bloomer; nieces and nephews; and special cat, Muffy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Herbert and Clarence; and one sister, Irene.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bloomer, with Rev. Norman Kuske officiating. Interment of cremains will be in South Catholic Cemetery in Bloomer.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer, where there will be a military rite service by the Bloomer American Legion and V.F.W. at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
Clarence Meyer
Clarence W. "Mike" Meyer, 89, of Chippewa Falls, died peacefully on Friday evening, March 2, 2001, at the Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls.
He was born Feb. 29, 1912, in the town of Tilden, Chippewa County, to Magdalena (John) and Michael Meyer.
Mike married Mae S. Weinstock on May 13, 1934. He was employed as a butter maker in Durand from 1936 to 1942, and worked as a flight instructor during WWII in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was then a lab technician for Chippewa County Dairy Herd Improvement Association from 1945 until 1952, and was then employed for Mid-America Dairymen in Bloomer, until his retirement in 1977.
He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls.
Survivors include his wife, Mae, of the Rutledge Home; his daughter, Marge (Ray) Lundeen of Buffalo, Minn.; two sons, Lester (Joan) Meyer of St. Cloud, Minn., and James (Alice) Meyer of Tucson, Ariz.; ten grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ella Weikel; and five brothers, Ed, Alvin, George, Gilbert and Raymond Meyer.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Dan Alexander of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and the Rev. Fr. Robert Hoekstra of the Chippewa Manor Retirement Community officiating. Spring interment will be in United Methodist Cemetery in Elk Mound.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

Charles Sink
Charles R. Sink, 72, of Eau Claire, formerly of Black River Falls, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
While living in Black River Falls for 40 years, Charles managed Hart Tie and Lumber in Black River Falls. Being a forest enthusiast, he loved the outdoors and found peace walking the ridge lines. Charles will be remembered for his strong family values and work ethics. His loving nature will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his fiancée, Marian Staves of Eau Claire; son, Chris Sink of Eau Claire; daughter, Peggy (Rob) Card of Grand Rapids, Michigan; brothers, Jim Sink of Portland, Oregon, and Archie Sink of Ft. Worth, Texas; sisters, Zena Mae Shine of Louisville, Kentucky, and Jeanette Cady of Seattle, Washington.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Virginia Cowles; two brothers; and two sisters.
No services will be held. His cremains will be interred at Memorial Gardens (Dixie Hwy.) in Louisville, Kentucky.
