Henry
Robert G. Henry, 71, of Park Falls, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
A memorial service was held Monday, May 22, at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, Park Falls; Pastor Loren Barker officiating.
A Masonic service was held at 6 p.m. Monday, May 22, at the Masonic Lodge in Phillips with members of F&AM Lodge No. 225 presiding.
He was born Oct. 19, 1928, in Independence, MO. His parents were Glenn and Lillian (Bailey) Henry.
He moved with his family as a child to Maywood, IL. He graduated from Proviso High School in Maywood.
He married Virginia Gaa July 17, 1948, in Antioch, IL.
He was employed for a number of years as a supervisor of financial services, which required him to move frequently. The family made its home in Boulder, CO, South Bend, IN, Sioux City, IA, Anoka, MN, and Madison prior to moving to Park Falls in 1969.
He was employed by St. Croix Rod. He and his wife then purchased Bridge Bait and Tackle in Park Falls, which they operated until their retirement in 1991.
He was a member of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church and Masonic Lodge No. 225, where he was active in all lodge affairs and was serving as Grand Master at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Virginia; a son, William (Patricia "Patti Jo") Henry of Platte City, MO; a daughter, Kathleen (Ronald Sr.) Yunk of Butternut; four grandchildren; and his mother.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Olsen
Alan Lee Olsen, 67, of Hayward, died Saturday, May 13, 2000, at his home.
Services were held Thursday, May 18, at First Congregational Church, Hayward; Rev. David Perkins officiating.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Hayward, with military rites under the auspices of the Hayward Veterans Council.
He was born July 6, 1932, in Hayward. His parents were Philemon and Ardis (Thompson) Olsen.
He graduated from Hayward High School and received a bachelor's degree in geology from the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
He served in the U.S. Army and National Guard for 29 years.
While in the National Guard, he worked for Hayward Consolidated Lumber in Hayward, Spooner and Grantsburg, for Tony's Candies in Hayward and for Telemark Lodge in Cable, where he helped in development of the new lodge.
He was recently working with the Fishing Has No Boundaries National Chapter in developing new chapters throughout the nation. He was an avid hunter.
He married JoAnn Anderson Sept. 12, 1954, in Park Falls.
He was an active member of First Congregational Church in Hayward, serving on many councils and as an officer. He was a member of The American Legion, Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn "Po", a son, David Olsen of Hayward; four daughters, Brenda (Jeff) Knudsen of Hamilton, MT, Linda Olsen of Hayward, Trina Gatch of Cincinnati, OH, and Lisa (Ken) Schmock of Hayward; six grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Lewis of Hayward and Philene (Warren) Clements of Arizona; and by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eldon Olsen; and a sister, Mary Lou Olsen.
Perry
Marvin J. Perry, 83, of Park Falls, died Friday, May 26, 2000, at Park Manor Nursing Home, Park Falls.
Services were held Tuesday, May 30, at the Novitzke Funeral Home Chapel, Park Falls; Deacon Chet Ball officiating.
Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery, Fifield.
He was born April 10, 1917, in Palatine, IL. His parents were Alva and Laura Perry.
He grew up and attended school in Palatine.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific.
He married Dorothy Milbratz March 6, 1948, in Arlington Heights, IL. She preceded him in death in 1988.
He was a supervisor at Fiat-Allis Machinery in Deerfield, IL.
After his retirement in 1979, he moved to the Park Falls area.
He was a lifetime member of The American Legion.
He is survived by a sister-in-law; three nieces; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers; two sisters; and a nephew.
Pritzl-Bruch
Mary Pritzl-Bruch, 99, of Park Falls, died Friday, May 26, 2000, at Park Manor Nursing Home, Park Falls.
Services were held Wednesday, May 31, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Park Falls; Father James Jackson officiating.
Burial was in Nola Cemetery, Park Falls.
She was born Jan. 5, 1901, in Germany. Her parents were John and Pauline (Treml) Ernst.
She grew up and attended school in Butternut.
She married Alois Pritzl June 7, 1920. He preceded her in death in 1962.
She married Charles Bruch Nov. 7, 1964. He preceded her in death in 1988.
A homemaker, she was a cook at various logging camps and worked on the family farm.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Christian Women and the Senior Club and was a former Girl Scout troop leader.
She was an avid bowler and gardener, and enjoyed fishing.
She is survived by three daughters, Eleanor Wauro and Marilyn (Charles) Gustafson, both of Park Falls, and Agnes (Frank) Stasiak of Wheaton, IL; three sons, Arthur (Dorothy) Pritzl, Donald (Shirley) Pritzl and James (Coreen) Pritzl, all of Park Falls; three step-children, Charlotte (Delmar) Hilgart of Park Falls, Clifford (Lottie) Bruch of Butternut and Shirley (Tony) Logan of Arizona; 23 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe (Annarose) Ernst of Park Falls; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a sister, Bertha Kronberger; and four brothers, John, Bill, Ferdy and Max Ernst.
Bessey
Josephine E. Bessey, 93, formerly of Glidden, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Park Manor Nursing Home, Park Falls.
Services were held Monday, June 12, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, Glidden; Father John Scheer officiating.
Burial was in Cemetery Park Cemetery, Iron Mountain, MI.
She was born Jan. 9, 1907, in Glidden. Her parents were William and Mary (Stangl) Wolf.
She grew up and attended school in Glidden and graduated from Glidden High School.
She atttended Stevens Point Teachers College and taught in Glidden, Iron Mountain and Kansas City.
She married Harold Bessey in June 1934 in Glidden. He preceded her in death in 1973.
The couple owned and operated the Highlands Motel in Kansas City for nine years.
She is survived by a sister, Lucy Eineichner of Glidden and by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three sisters, Florence Wolf, Bernadine Wolf and Irene Zielke.
Ledvina
Eileen R. Ledvina, 68, of Butternut, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at her home.
Services were held Monday, June 12, at St. Paul’s Luthearn Church, Butternut; Rev. John A. Deitz officiating.
Burial was in Butternut Union Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 8, 1931, in Butternut. Her parents were Otto A. and Nora A. (Bentz) Thoms.
She married Glenn A. Walker Jr. Jan. 6, 1947, in Butternut. He preceded her in death Feb. 20, 1974.
She married Edward F. Ledvina Aug. 9, 1975.
She was a homemaker, devoted mother and loving wife and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband; 12 children, Grace (Donald) Wohlleben, Cheryl (Dennis) Wegner, Connie (Jerald) Wegner, Fred (Marilyn) Walker, Susan (Kenneth) Zierer, Darlene (James) Lynch, Kenneth (Sharon) Walker, Linda (John Jr.) Frydrych, John (Heather) Walker, Judy (Claus) Kraetke, all of Butternut, Scott (Kelly) Walker of Park Falls and Amy (Matt) Blessinger of Milwaukee; 39 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold (Helen) Thoms of Park Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; two brothers, Ervin and Donald Thoms; a sister, Ida Niebauer; and a granddaughter, Kristi Frydrych.
Meindl
Ann Meindl, 82,of Park Falls, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at her home.
Services were held Saturday, June 10, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Park Falls; Father James Jackson officiating.
Burial was in Nola Cemetery, Park Falls.
She was born June 17, 1917, in Fifield. Her parents were George and Anna (Woodie) Koller.
She grew up and attended school in Park Falls.
She worked for the St. Anthony’s Parish Rectory for a time.
She married Richard Meindl May 14, 1941, in Park Falls.
The couple lived in Green Bay from 1954 to 1964, and in Michigan until returning to Park Falls in 1983.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Rita LaRock of Oconto Falls; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jerome Koller; and two sisters, Margaret Hoefferle and Edna Cole.
