Bietka
Bruno Bernard Bietka, 80, of Springstead, died Monday, June 19, 2000, at Flambeau Hospital, Park Falls.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, June 22, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Park Falls; Father James Jackson officiating.
A parish prayer vigil was held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, at the Novitzke Funeral Home, Park Falls.
Burial was in Nola Cemetery, Park Falls, with military rites under the auspices of Dirrigl-Sawales American Legion Post No. 182 and Heisler-Mockler Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6903, both of Park Falls.
He was born Nov. 30, 1919, in Ashland. His parents were Frank and Rose (Swider) Bietka.
He grew up and attended school in Ashland.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.
He married Ruth Grudzielanek June 5, 1948, in Milwaukee.
He was a maintenance supervisor at Allen-Bradley Company in Milwaukee for many years. He retired in 1978 and he and his wife moved to Springstead.
He was a volunteer on the Springstead Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Donna (Dale) White of Winchester and Shirley (Bob) Marsh of Lemoore, CA; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; two brothers, Stanley Bietka of Springfield, IL, and Joe (Rita) Bietka of Ashland; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and a sister.
Hanns
Bonnie L. Hanns, 50, of Little Canada, MN, died Monday, June 19, 2000, at her home.
Private internment will be held at Nola Cemetery.
She was born May 15, 1950, in Park Falls. Her parents were Lawrence and Dorothy (Oesterreich) Hanns.
She grew up and attended school in Park Falls and graduated from Park Falls High School.
In 1968, she moved to St. Paul, MN, where she worked for U.S. West Telephone for many years. She then worked at Electro Plate.
She is survived by her father; a brother, Richard (Helen) Hanns of Merrill; an aunt, Margaret (Harry) Schondelmaier of Park Falls; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1996; and an infant sister, Cheryl, in 1945.
Jahn
Barbara T. Jahn, 86, of Park Falls, died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at her home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
She was born Dec. 4, 1913, in Springfield, MN. Her parents were Frank and Frances (Fuenffinger) Groebner.
She married Paul I. Jahn Dec. 4, 1913, in Springfield, MN. He preceded her in death in 1998.
The couple moved to Park Falls in 1955.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandy (Hal) Schultz of Mission, TX; a son, Paul (Leann) Jahnson of Three Lakes; a grandson; three sisters, Cel Abel of St. Peter, MN, Fran Bolstad of Austin, MN, and Maire Frederickson of Minneapolis, MN; a brother, Max Groebner of New Ulm, MN; and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Leo, Albert, Paul and Frank Groebner; and a sister, Terese Wirsing.
Behreandt
Lee D. Behreandt, 86, of Park Falls, died Friday, June 30, 2000, at Park Manor Nursing Home, Park Falls.
Services were held Wednesday, July 5, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Park Falls; Father James Jackson officiating.
Burial was in Nola Cemetery, Park Falls.
He was born Nov. 30, 1913, in Park Falls. His parents were William and Rose (Young)Behreandt.
He was a life-long resident of Park Falls.
He married Verna Kundinger Sept. 14, 1940, in Park Falls.
He worked for the Hines, Roddis and Weyerhauser companies.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Arlene (Ed) Shrader of Park Falls; three grangchildren; five great-grandchildren; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and four sisters.
Linsmeyer
Robert J. Linsmeyer, 71, of Butternut, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at his home.
Services were held Tuesday, June 27, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Butternut; Rev. John A. Deittz and Rev. Michael Paholke officiating.
Burial will be in St. Cecelia Cemetery, Butternut, at a later date.
He was born Oct. 25, 1928, in Butternut. His parents were Fred and Minnie (Christian) Linsmeyer.
He attended school at the Little White School in the town of Agenda.
He married Darlene Holt May 5, 1962, in Butternut.
He was a farmer and logger, and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; seven children: Bruce Nealey of Salem, Robert Nealey of Medford, Nancy Nealey, Brice (Cindy) Nealey and Larry (Robin) Linsmeyer, all of Butternut, Dennis (Lynn) Linsmeyer of Janesville, and Carol (David) Niehoff of Fifield; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, John (Marion) Linsmeyer of Butternut; a sister, Betty (Don) Miesbauer of Minocqua; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by a sister Gertrude Dul.
Memorials may be made to Flambeau Home Health and Hospice.
Benson-Chvala
Helen Benson-Chvala, 84, of Park Falls, died Friday, July 7, 2000, at Linden Grove Health Care Center, Menomonee Falls.
Services were held Wednesday, July 12, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Park Falls; Father James Jackson officiating.
Burial was in Nola Cemetery, Park Falls.
She was born Nov. 4, 1915, in Park Falls and was a life-long resident of Park Falls. Her parents were John and Viola (Wandrey) Helbling.
She was a graduate of Park Falls High School.
She married Elmer Benson in 1934. He preceded her in death in 1945.
She married Frank Chvala July 8, 1972, in Park Falls. He preceded her in death in 1992.
A homemaker, she was employed for 25 years as an office clerk at Flambeau Paper company
She was a lifetime member of St. Anthony’s Christian Women.
She is survived by two sons, Gary (JoAnn) Benson of Germantown and William (Claire) Benson of Franklin; two step-sons, Thomas (Charlotte) Chvala of Greendale and Richard (Vicki) Chvala of Sun Prairie; six grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and a sister, Ruth Wallace.
Ponshock
Robert W. Ponshock, 63, of Phillips, and formerly of Park Falls, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips.
Services were held Saturday, July 8, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Phillips; Pastor Daniel Ahrens officiating.
Military honors were conducted by Heisler-Mockler Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6903 of Park Falls, Price County Chapter No. 25 of the Disabled American Veterans and Lane Kreiling American Legion Post No. 122 of Phillips.
Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery, Phillips.
He was born Aug. 5, 1936, in Park Falls. His parents were Andrew and Clara (Bendickson) Ponshock.
He grew up and attended school in Park Falls and attended Park Falls High School.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958, serving in Korea and North Africa.
He was employed as an electrician for AAA Electric in Park Falls and as an electrical supervisor at the Flambeau Paper Mill before owning his own business, Bob’s Electric, until his retirement.
He married Carol Obadol Cress Aug. 7, 1993, in Phillips.
He was a member of Heisler-Mockler Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6903 of Park Falls, Price County Chapter No. 25 of the Disabled American Veterans and Lane Kreiling American Legion Post No. 122 of Phillips.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Jackie (Tim) Kennedy of Park Falls and Debbie (Barry) Trapp of Minocqua; a step-daughter, Lisa (Eric) Bergdahl of Marshfield; two step-sons, Wayne Cress of Menasha and Brian Cress of Oshkosh; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Marvin Ponshock of Park Falls and Floyd (Marian) Ponshock of Birnamwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, June Rienow and Betty Ryan; and two brothers, Raymond and Merlin.
