Mary J. Schnautz, 90, of Butternut, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at Park Manor Nursing Home, Park Falls.
Services were held Monday, July 10, at St. George Church, Tinley Park, IL; Father Gerald Walsh officiating
Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.
A parish prayer vigil was held Friday, July 7, at the Novitzke Funeral Home, Park Falls.
She was born Oct. 4, 1909, in East St. Louis, IL. Her parents were Karli and Rosalia (Lorenz) Thier.
She moved to Chicago at an early age.
She married William F. Schnautz June 17, 1933, in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1994.
She was a homemaker.
In 1950, the family moved to Park Falls, where they operated a dairy farm until retirement in 1981, when the couple moved to Butternut.
She was a member of the Homemakers Club.
She is survived by three sons, William C. Schnautz of Butternut, Carl Schnautz of Park Falls and Michael (Susan) Schnautz of Butternut; two daughters, Marlene Fulfer of Tinley Park, IL, and Lorraine (William) Goudie of Darien, IL; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marie Thier of Park Falls; and by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; and three sisters.
Yoerin
Services for Connie Marie (Dane) Yoerin, 46, were held Monday, July 10, at Holy Apostles Catholic Church.
Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Milwaukee.
She was born Sept. 5, 1953, in Park Falls. Her parents were Leonard Dane and Marian (Pritzl) (Dane) Herbst.
She was employed for 20 years by Johnson Controls.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis K. Yoerin; two children, Sarah and Eric Yoerin; her step-father, Clarence Herbst; a sister, Janet Seefluth; a brother, Dan (Sandy) Dane of Park Falls; and a step-sister, Judi (Ralph) Collins.
She was preceded in death by her father; her mother; and two sisters, Delores (Ed) Griffin and Yvonne (Borris) Brockman.
Jaglinski
Lois T. Jaglinski, 80, of Butternut, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
Services were held Thursday, Feb. 10, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Butternut; Father James Jackson officiating.
Parish prayer vigil and Knights of Columbus services were held Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the Novitzke Funeral Home, Park Falls.
Burial was in St. Cecelia Cemetery, Butternut.
She was born July 21, 1919, in Big Bay, MI. Her parents were Einus and Altie (McIntyre) Hagan.
She moved to Park Falls after graduating from Hurley High School.
She worked for Rabenowich Clothing Department Store in Park Falls and was a homemaker and farmer.
She married Charles Jaglinski Dec. 30, 1943, in Butternut. He preceded her in death in 1996.
She was a member of the Butternut Homemakers Club and of the Christian Women of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was a long-time catechist at the church.
She was a very avid card player.
She is survived by a son, Richard (Sally) Jaglinski of Butternut; four grandchildren, Peter (Amy) Jaglinski of Wausau, Keith Jaglinski of Hudson, Brenda (Brian) Mrotek of Phillips and Paul Jaglinski of Wausau; four-great-grandchildren, Tanner Jaglinski, Bryce Jaglinski, Seth Jaglinski and Kayla Mrotek; five sisters, Rosemarie Negrini of Ironwood, MI, Agnes Schmitt, Jeanette Prickrel and Pat (Don) Juhl, all of Milwaukee, and Jean (Laurie) Kivisto of Menomonee, MI; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a son, Charles Jr.; three sisters, Edna Mae Hagan, Oddney Anderson and Dorothy Vuchetich; and a brother, Harvey Hagan.
Tapplin
Thomas Arthur Tapplin, 33, of Coon Rapids, MN, and formerly of Park Falls, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at Mercy Hospital, Coon Rapids, MN, from complications from a snowmobile accident.
Services were held Tuesday, Feb. 15, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Park Falls; Father James Jackson officiating.
Burial was in Nola Cemetery, Park Falls.
He was born July 26, 1966, in Park Falls. His parents are Mike and the late Beverly (Hoefferle) Tapplin.
He graduated from Park Falls High School in 1984.
He chose a career in over-the-road fiber-optic construction.
Tom was every child's favorite uncle. Many of Tom's nieces and nephews learned their states by where Uncle Tom was working.
According to Tom's oldest niece, Jennifer, he "lived by the strict rule of always helping others unselfishly."
Tom settled in Coon Rapids, MN, where he switched careers, becoming a professional sheet rock worker.
He is survived by his father, who lives in Texas; five brothers, John of Park Falls, Jeff (Dolly) of Portland, OR, Pat (Cheri) of Troutdale, OR, Mike (Jennifer) of Oak Grove, MN, and Tim (Deannna) of Eldorado; a sister, Missy (Glen) Balsavich of Park Falls; his maternal grandmother, Clara (La Verne) Hoefferle of Park Falls; his paternal grandmother, Frankie Stull of Park Falls; and by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother; his maternal grandfather, Elmer Hoefferle; and his paternal grandfather, John Tapplin.
Jagielo
Alvina Ann Jagielo, 87, of Park Falls, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Park Manor Nursing Home, Park Falls.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Park Falls; Father James Jackson officiating.
Visitation if from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday, Feb. 26.
Burial will be in Nola Cemetery, Park Falls.
She was born Sept. 8, 1912, in Chicago, IL. Her parents were Frank and Victoria Kiernicki.
She grew up and attended school in Chicago.
She married Walter Jagielo July 11, 1931, in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1993.
The couple moved to Park Falls in 1971.
She is survived by a son, Robert (Lorraine) Jagielo of Park Falls; four grandchildren; three sisters, Anne Smizinski and Florence Smizinski, both of Arlington Heights, IL, and Stephanie Lewis of Pensacola, FL; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Helen Sobik; and a brother, Edward Kiernicki.
Leahy
Frances "Bette" Leahy, 79, of Rice Lake, and formerly of Glidden and Park Falls, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Lakeview Medical Center, Rice Lake.
Services will be held today, Thursday, Feb. 24, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rice Lake; Father Kevin Gordon officiating.
Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Dobie, WI.
She was born Nov. 4, 1920, in Superior. Her parents were Hy and Esther (Lindquist) Mullaney.
She grew up and attended school in Superior. She graduated from Superior State Teachers College.
She did her practice teaching, teaching English and French, at Glidden High School.
While in Glidden, she met her husband, "Bob." They were married June 21, 1945. Her husband, Justin "Doc" Leahy, preceded her in death in 1983.
They moved to Milwaukee, where "Bob" pursued his doctorate at Marquette University.
The couple moved to Park Falls in 1948. Both were active in the community.
They moved to Minnesota in 1957, living and working in the St. Paul area. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital.
They moved to Rice Lake in 1972, where she worked as an assistant librarian at the University of Wisconsin Center-Barron County Campus. She retired in 1984.
She was very active in the Lakeview Medical Center Auxiliary, serving as its president for three years.
She is survived by a daughter, Jeanie (Bill) Foshay of Chisago City, MN; three sons, Thomas (Dianne) Leahy of Woodbury, MN, Patrick (Sue) Leahy of Cameron and Michael (Donna) Leahy of Charlotte, MI; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers; and a sister.
Wehrman
Norman L Wehrman, 73, of Butternut, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at Flambeau Hospital, Park Falls.
A memorial service was held Monday, Feb. 21, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Butternut; Rev. John A. Dietz officiating.
Burial was in Nola Cemetery, Park Falls, with military rites under the auspices of Dirrigl-Sawales American Legion Post No. 182 and Heisler-Mockler Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6903, both of Park Falls.
He was born Jan. 9, 1927, in Park Falls. His parents were Gustav and Bernice (Smith) Wehrman.
He grew up and attended school in Park Falls.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during World War II.
He married Elaine Breitenfeld May 22, 1948, in Butternut.
He worked for the railroad for 18 years and at the Flambeau Paper Mill for 23 years, until his retirement. He then worked for Palacek Bulldozing.
He was a member of Heisler-Mockler Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6903 of Park Falls.
He is survived by his wife; six daughters, Sandra (George) Kozak and Renee (Danny) Kundinger, both of Phillips, Pamela (Richard) Koenig of Park Falls, Debra Kelly of Chippewa Falls, Linda (Steve) Daoust of Long Prairie, MN, and Brenda (Louis III) Kotora of Fifield; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence Wehrman; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Curtis, a sister-in-law, Marie; and a son-in-law, John.
