Harold E. "Bud" Erickson, 76, of Wauwatosa, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999.
He was born Dec. 16, 1922, in Park Falls. His parents were Harold S. and Margaret (McGinnis) Erickson.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Adeline "Ady;" a daughter, Mary; and by other relatives and friends.
Kundinger
Louis R. Kundinger, 78, of Park Falls, died Friday, June 25 1999, at Flambeau Hospital, Park Falls.
Services were held Monday, June 28, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Park Falls; Father Linus Evers officiating.
A parish prayer vigil, conducted by the Knights of Columbus, was held Sunday, June 27, at the Novitzke Funeral Home, Park Falls.
Burial was in Nola Cemetery, Park Falls, with military rites under the auspices of Dirrigl-Sawales American Legion Post No. 182 and Heisler-Mockler Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6903, both of Park Falls.
Louis, known to his friends as "Lutz," was born Feb. 10, 1921, at the Kundinger family homestead near Park Falls. His parents, John and Mary Kundinger, were pioneers of the area.
He attended Park Falls Lincoln High School and Wausau Technical College.
He married Zora Murkovich of Glidden June 8, 1943. They recently celebrated their 56th anniversary.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 25 years, retiring as a colonel in 1966 in Austin, TX. He was a decorated veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. During his military career, he distinguished himself as a director of material and supply, receiving numerous commendations, including commendation from the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Washington, DC.
Following retirement from the service, he and his family returned to Park Falls. He was involved in church, civic and charitable activities. He took particular pride in serving as finance chairman of the Park Falls Centennial Committee, on whose behalf he was primary fundraiser.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Thomas (Ravelle) Kundinger of Denver, CO, Robert Kundinger of Lexington, KY, and Steven Kundinger of Park Falls; a daughter, Linda of Austin, TX; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Warren and Agnes Olson, both of Park Falls; and a brother, Elmer Kundinger of Park Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jack, Henry and Lawrence Kundinger; and six sisters, Mary Enhelder, Rose Feit, Lillian Moe, Barb Dohm, Amelia Tracy and Virginia Kundinger.
McCulley
Jill M. McCulley, 30, of Madison, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at University Hospital, Madison.
Services were held Saturday, June 26, at Reinbold and Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw; Rev. Richard H. Heymen officiating.
A parish prayer service was held Friday, June 25, at the funeral home.
Burial was in the parish cemetery.
She was born March 18, 1969, in Two Rivers. Her parents are Bernard J. and Dorothy G. (Schamburek) McCulley Jr.
She graduated from Valders High School in 1987 and received her bachelor of arts degree in English in 1992 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She received her master of arts degree in library and information studies from UW-Madison in 1999.
She married Daniel P. Racette Nov. 12, 1993, in Madison.
She was an employee of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Library as a library services assistant. She also worked as an archives assistant for the Wisconsin State Historical Society.
She was a volunteer to the Dane County Advocates Shelter for Battered Women, and to the Dane County Jail, providing reading material for inmates.
She was a member of the Wisconsin Library Association.
She is survived by her husband; her parents; a brother, John M. McCulley of La Crosse; her parental grandmother, Bea McCulley of Manitowoc; her father- and mother-in-law, Daniel S. and Betty A. Racette of Park Falls; a sister-in-law, Tracey A. Racette of Minneapolis, MN; and by aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
O'Donnell
Jeffrey Brian O'Donnell, 51, of Hale, MO, and formerly of Park Falls, died Sunday, June 27, 1999, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, MO.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, June 30, at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, July 2, at Peace Lutheran Church, Park Falls.
The body was cremated.
He was born April 10, 1948. His parents are Verial Harris O'Donnell and the late Orlan R. O'Donnell.
He was a 1967 graduate of Park Falls Lincoln High School.
He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
He married Cheryl Obernberger Dec. 4, 1971, in Park Falls.
He was employed by the city of Park Falls before moving to Hale, MO, two years ago.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Park Falls and a member of Dirrigl-Sawales American Legion Post No. 182 of Park Falls. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Nathan O'Donnell of Schofield; two daughters, Shannon (Tommy) Wraggs of Schofield and Dana O'Donnell of Wausau; his mother; two brothers, Mike O'Donnell of Park Falls, Dick O'Donnell of South St. Paul, MN, and Pat O'Donnell of Chillicothe, MO; a sister, Terry Halverson of Butternut; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Wolter
Jack Wolter, 66, of Park Falls, died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Howard Young Memorial Medical Center, Woodruff.
Services were held Monday, June 28, at Peace Lutheran Church, Park Falls; Rev. Stanley Bahn officiating.
He was born Jan. 17, 1933, in Gary, IN. His parents were Carl and Verna (Helmreich) Wolter.
He grew up and attended school in Gary.
He earned a bachelors degree in forestry from Purdue University.
He married Kathleen Norman Aug. 7, 1954.
He was employed by the USDA Forest Service, then served in the U.S. Army for three years.
After service, he returned to the Forest Service and attended Colorado State University, where he earned his masters degree.
In 1978, he was appointed Supervisor of the Chequamegon National Forest and moved to Park Falls. He retired as forest supervisor in 1988.
After retirement, he joined his wife in operation of Kae's Korner in Park Falls.
He was a member of the Beta Sigma Psi fraternity and of the Park Falls Lions Club. He was a member of the Park Falls Area Chamber of Commerce and was a chamber ambassador. He was an elder of Peace Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Beth (Brent) Nelson of St. Paul, MN; two sons, Scott of Minneapolis, MN, and Michael of Milwaukee; two grandchildren; his mother; two brothers, Harry (Barbara) Wolter of Apple Valley, MN, and Tom (Karin) Wolter of Elgin, IL; a sister, Lois (Bob) Traber of Crown Point, IN; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Nelson
Joan T. Nelson of Venice, FL, died June 11, 1999.
A memorial service was held June 14 at Christ United Methodist Church of Venice, FL.
Internment was in the memorial gardens of the church.
She was the wife of Clarence M. Nelson, a native of Park Falls who graduated from Lincoln High School in 1937.
She attended her husband's class reunions seven times and was a visitor to the Martin Nelson and Alvin Nelson homes in Park Falls many times.
She lived in many interesting locations during her life, including six years in Malvern in the county of Worcestershire, England, and a long stay in Brazil. She also lived in West Virginia, Connecticut and Florida, and traveled extensively in Europe, South America and Africa.
Prior to her marriage, she performed secretarial work at the U.S. Synthetic Rubber Plant at Institute, WV, during World War II.
She was an active volunteer, working with Meals on Wheels while in England and as a volunteer for 15 years at a hospital in Bridgeport, CT.
She was an enthusiastic bridge player and golfer and was a member of the Jacaranda Golf and Country Club in Venice, FL.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Pamela N. Hanson of Madison and Deborah J. Nelson of New Hope, PA; a son, Jon E. Nelson of Sparta, NJ; five grandsons; and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a baby son; a sister, Martha Campbell; and a brother, Richard Terry.
Sullivan
Patrice M. Sullivan, 83, of Wausau, died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at Woven Hearts, 210 W. Campus Dr., Wausau.
Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Fifield, at a later date.
She was born Oct. 24, 1915, in Fifield. Her parents were Benjamin and Winnifred (Walker) Griffin.
She was owner/operator of Lotz Sand and Gravel, Wausau.
She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Gee of Thiensville; a granddaughter; three sisters, Shirley Youngflesh of Lamesa, CA, Charlotte Everson of Slinger and Rosemary Glissendorf of Phillips; four brothers, Berkley Griffin of Lakeside, CA, Martin Griffin of Port Orchard, OR, James (Jackie) Griffin of Apache Junction, AZ, and George Griffin of Franklin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, James Olson.
