Vivian Dobschuetz-Siok, 77, of Prentice, and formerly of Phillips, died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at Medford Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service was held at Saturday, May 8, at Lakeside Cemetery, Phillips.
She was born May 30, 1921, in Omaha, NE. Her parents were Bennett and Helen (Martin) Combs.
She grew up and attended school in Milwaukee, where she was a graduate of Horace Mann.
She married Thomas Dobschuetz Sept. 1, 1940, in Phillips.
She was manager of Crown Shoes in Milwaukee, owned and operated a small restaurant in Milwaukee, then worked for Triangle Drugs in Milwaukee until her retirement.
She was a member of the Phillips branch of AARP.
She is survived by three children, Jerry (Gale) Dobschuetz of Muskego, Bonnie (Jim) Farina of Milwaukee and Sandra Kerwin of Phillips; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her father; two brothers, Buddy (Ernestine) Combs of St. Louis, MO, and Donald (JoAnne) Combs of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Dorothy Purdee of Texas and Shirley (Bernie) Todd of Orem, UT; and by many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her first husband, Thomas; her second husband, Walter; a brother, Richard Combs; a sister, Geraldine Combs; a son-in-law, Gerald Kerwin; a brother-in-law, George Purdee; and her best friend, Lucy McCullough.
Bourgeois
Milton E. Bourgeois, 80, of Ashland, and formerly of Park Falls, died Monday, May 10, 1999, at Memorial Medical Center, Ashland.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Thursday, May 13, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Ashland; Rev. Dale Chesley officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Ashland.
He was born April 8, 1919, in Westboro. His parents were Colme and Anna (Andersen) Bourgeois.
He lived in Park Falls, Cornucopia and Washburn and graduated from Walker High School in Washburn in 1937. He lived in Ashland since 1942.
He married Vivian Erickson-Armstrong Sept. 5, 1964, in Ashland.
He was manager of the Firestone Store in Ashland for several years and was a salesman and service manager for Roffers Chevrolet for 12 years.
He worked as a traffic manager and purchasing agent for the Beloit Woodlands Corporation in Ashland. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he worked 11 years in the accounting department for the Lake Superior District Power Company.
He was president of the Ashland Boat Club, an Elk member for 28 years and was very active in scouting. An avid fisherman, bowler and golfer, his main interest was music. He played the guitar, and was a member of various orchestras and barbershop quartets. For 21 years, he was the top tenor for the Howlitzers Quartet.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Colme (Sylvia) Bourgeois of Ashland; a step-son, Thomas W. Armstrong of Park Falls; a granddaughter; 12 step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; five sisters; a daughter-in-law; and a step-granddaughter.
Gundersgaard
Earl Gundersgaard, 90, of Park Falls, died Friday, May 7, 1999, at Park Manor Nursing Home, Park Falls.
Services were held Monday, May 10, at the Novitzke Funeral Home Chapel, Park Falls; Rev. Stanley Bahn officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Ashland.
He was born March 6, 1909, in Sanborn. His parents were Martin and Vilie (DeVoe) Gundersgaard.
He grew up and attended school in Sanborn, Winter and the Loretta-Draper area and moved to Park Falls in the early 1920's.
He worked as a logger and at Hines Lumber Co. in Park Falls, and later worked at the Park Falls hospital until his retirement in 1974.
He is survived by a son, Dale (Donna) Gundersgaard of South St. Paul, MN; two daughters, Judy Larson of South St. Paul, MN, and Jean (David) Meyer of Forest Lake, MN; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ester (Gary) Vollrath of Greenwood, Florence Aaby of Lake Station, IN, and Grace Beahreandt of Seattle, WA; a sister-in-law, Julia Gundersgaard of Park Falls; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lloyd Gundersgaard; four brothers, Fred, Lyle, Lester and Martin "Ted" Gundersgaard; and a sister, Helen White.
Reed
Robert Emil Reed, 74, of Winterhaven, FL, died Saturday, April 3, 1999, in Winterhaven.
A graveside service will be held at Butternut Union Cemetery at 1 p.m. Monday, May 17; Rev. Michael Paholke officiating, with military rites under the auspices of the Butternut American Legion Post.
He was born March 17, 1925, in Chicago, IL. His parents were Darwin and Evelyn (Muhonen-Oja) Reed.
He was a veteran of World War II and a design engineer for Giddings and Lewis Company for 30 years.
He married Illa Rabuck June 24, 1950.
The couple moved to Winterhaven in 1984.
He is survived by his wife; five children, Robert A. (Janet) Reed of Kaukauna, Sidney (Meala) Reed of Lake Worth, FL, Stanley (Susan) Reed of Appleton, Carol (Jerry) Stinski of Weyauwega and Susan Mattison of Winterhaven, FL; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walfred (Ruby) Reed of Davis, CA, and Norman (Ann) Reed of Citrus Heights, CA; a sister, Shirley Bodnar of Miami, FL; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, William Reed.
Schrader
Loretta M. Schrader, 92, of Park Falls, died Sunday, May 16, 1999, at Flambeau Hospital, Park Falls.
Services were held Wednesday, May 19, at Peace Lutheran Church, Park Falls; Rev. Stanley Bahn officiating.
Burial was in Nola Cemetery, Park Falls.
She was born Nov. 11, 1906. Her parents were William and Rose (Poyer) Disotell. She moved to Park Falls as a child.
She married Otto Schrader Aug. 22, 1924. He preceded her in death in 1987.
She was owner/operator of Schrader's Hi-Way Cafe in Park Falls.
She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy (Lowell) Stewart of Loveland, CO; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Oscar Schrader; a sister; and three brothers.
Smith
Isabella Smith, 86, of Park Falls, died Thursday, May 13, 1999, at the home of her daughter in Park Falls.
Services were held Saturday, May 15, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Park Falls; Father Al Ebach officiating.
Burial was in Nola Cemetery, Park Falls.
She was born Aug. 23, 1912, in Park Falls, and was a life-long resident of Park Falls. Her parents were Thomas and Clara (Oberpaul) Kronberger.
She married Earl Smith June 5, 1935, in Park Falls. He preceded her in death in 1976.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Christian Women of St. Anthony's Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Marie (Chet) Ball of Park Falls and Joan (Allen) Anderson of Phillips; a son, Thomas (Annelies) Smith of Park Falls; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Vivian Smith of Wild Rose; two sisters, Mary Weiss of Park Falls and Tillie (Walt) Dillon of Milwaukee; three sisters-in-law, Leona Kronberger, Delpha Holmquest and DeEtte Moccardine; a good friend, Leona Hunter; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Francis; and by sisters and brothers.
Colloton
Kent O. Colloton, 59, of Butternut, died Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at Veterans Hospital, Milwaukee.
Services were held Saturday, May 22, at the Novitzke Funeral Home, Park Falls.
He was born July 5, 1939, in Milwaukee. His parents were Douglass and Violet (Bothwell) Colloton.
He moved to Butternut in 1987.
He is survived by a son, Michael (Jean) Colloton of Oak Creek; two daughters, Lisa (Craig) Phillips of Las Vegas, NV, and Patricia Colloton of Milwaukee; two grandchildren; two sisters, Donna (Vincent) Horne of Milwaukee and Jeanine (Lawrence) Werner of Peoria, AZ; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
