Lillian A. Rasmussen, 100, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at Park Manor Nursing Home.
A private family service was held March 5, 1999, at the Campbell Funeral Home, Woodruff; Rev. Richard Krenz officiating.
Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah.
She was born Feb. 4, 1899, and had recently celebrated her 100th birthday.
She is survived by a son, George (Letitia) Rasmussen of Park Falls; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; George and Adeline Langlotz; her husband, George Rasmussen; three sisters; and two brothers.
Teeters
James L. Teeters, 66, of Menomonee Falls, and formerly of Park Falls, died Monday, March 1, 1999.
Services were held Thursday, March 4, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Menommonee Falls. Burial was in St. Anthony's Church Cemetery.
He was a U.S. Air Force and Korean War veteran and was a member of American Legion Post No. 382.
He was born in Park Falls.
He is survived by three sons, David (Judy), Mike (Judy) and Gary (Karrie); eight grandchildren; a special friend, Annette Barth; seven brothers, George, Dick, Jerry, Ken, John, Dan and Tom Teeters; two sisters, Mary and Carol; and by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary.
Fredrick
Shirley Ann Fredrick, 67, of Owen, died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, March 18, at the United Church of Christ, Owen; Rev. Kenneth A. Dix of First United Church of Christ, Colby, officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 6, 1931, in Marshfield. Her parents were Carl and Dana (Lambie) Johnson.
After graduation from Draper-Loretta High School, she was employed at a jewelry store in Marshfield. She worked summers at Hines Resort at Mason Lake near Fifield.
She married Daniel Fredrick Oct. 9, 1954, at the United Church of Christ, Park Falls.
Together, they farmed in the town of Green Grove until 1995, when the farm was purchased by her sons.
She was an active member of the United Church of Christ in Owen, where she taught Sunday school and held many positions, including president of the UCC Ladies Fellowship.
She and her husband enjoyed their annual trips for 29 years to Wyoming to hunt elk.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, David (Mary) Fredrick and Denis Fredrick, both of Owen; a daughter, Linda Fredrick of Oregon, WI; four grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne (Sandra) Johnson of Anchorage, AK.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her family will establish a memorial in her name for the Marshfield Cancer Research Foundation.
Sheedy
Clarence "Jack" Sheedy, 73, of Park Falls, died Thursday, March 11, 1999, at Flambeau Hospital, Park Falls.
Services were held Monday, March 15, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Park Falls, Father Al Ebach officiating.
Burial was in Nola Cemetery, Park Falls, with military rites under the auspices of Dirrigl-Sawales American Legion Post No. 182 of Park Falls.
He was born June 6, 1925, in Tripoli. His parents were Harry and Viola (Dean) Sheedy.
He grew up and attended school in Park Falls.
After school, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
He married Gwendolyn Slack Nov. 15, 1947.
After the war, he worked for Flambeau Transfer.
He worked for Flambeau Paper Co. in Park Falls from 1959 until his retirement in 1990.
He is survived by his wife; two children, Mark Sheedy of Park Falls and Dena (Jim) Bruch of Fountain Hills, AZ; three grandchildren; a brother, Earl Sheedy of Coos Bay, OR; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers; and a sister.
Zalatoris
Joseph S. Zalatoris, 78, of Kenosha, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999.
He was born April 22, 1920, in Racine. His parents were Stanley and Josephine (Mikutis) Zalatoris. He grew up and attended school in Kenosha.
He served in the U.S. Army Corps during World War II in the CBI Theater in Air Transport Command. He held the rank of sergeant, receiving the American Theater Service Ribbon, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Ribbon and the Distinguished Unit Badge. He was recalled into the Air Force during the Korean Conflict, serving for more than a year in southern Japan, where he held the rank of staff sergeant.
He joined the Kenosha Police Department in 1951 and served for 28 years, retiring April 1, 1978, as a detective in the juvenile division.
He married Florence D. Kundinger of Park Falls Oct. 16, 1954.
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the St. Peter's Mens Club and also served as an usher at the church. He was a third degree honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Council 973, and a member of the Wisconsin and Kenosha Professional Policemens Association.
He is survived by his wife; and a sister, Ellen Celnar of Kenosha.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Stella Zalatoris, and a brother, Adolph Zalatoris.
Arnold
Anne M. (Bruch) Arnold, 77, of Longmont, CO, and formerly of Butternut, died Monday, March 15, 1999, at Peak Nursing Home, Longmont.
Services were held Thursday, March 18, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Beaver Falls, PA; Rev. John L. Pingel officiating.
Entombment was in Williamsburg Chapel Mausoleum in Chippewa Township, PA.
She was born Sept. 15, 1921, in Butternut. Her parents were Max and Lena Baatz Bruch.
She had worked as a registered nurse.
She was a memer of Mount Olive Lutheran Church, American Legion Post No. 272 of Butternut; the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the Little Beaver Historical Society.
She served in the U.S. Army Nurse's Corps during World War II, serving in New Guinea and the Philippine Islands.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Kenneth) Hultman of Louisville, CO, a son, David J. Arnold of Rochester, PA; four grandchildren; a brother, Max Bruch of Butternut; and a sister, Lee Daniels of Whitewater.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Karl A. Arnold, in 1996.
Boyer
Vincent J. Boyer, 61, of Park Falls, died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at his home.
Services were held Tuesday, March 23, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Fifield; Father Al Ebach officiating.
A parish prayer vigil was held Monday, March 22, at the Novitzke Funeral Home, Park Falls.
Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery, Fifield, with military rites under the auspices of the Fifield American Legion.
He was born June 5, 1937, in Park Falls. His parents were Wenzel and Anna (Kraemer) Boyer.
He grew up and attended school in Fifield.
After graduation from high school, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1955 to 1963. He served as a radio operator and pilot.
After service, he moved to Illinois, where he married Linda A. Fetzer May 22, 1965.
He lived in the Chicago area until 1983, when he moved to Allentown, PA, where he was a theatrical lighting engineer and owner of Specialty Lighting.
He moved to Park Falls in 1996. He was a member of the Fifield American Legion. He was an avid pilot and member of the Civil Air Patrol.
He is survived by three children, Carole Marie Boyer of Knoxville, TN, Janet Anne (Timothy) Reuter of Woodstock, IL, and Sean Michael Boyer of Cyrstal Lake, IL; a granddaughter; two brothers, Frank Boyer of Fifield and James Boyer of Park Falls; three sisters, Margaret Boyer of Palatine, IL, Georgia (Alfredo) Alarcon of Atlanta, GA, and Helen (Gene) Lannigan of Park Falls; his former wife, Linda Boyer of Crystal Lake, IL; a sister-in-law, Georgia Boyer of Rockford, IL; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by a brother, Douglas Boyer.
