Mark Edward Silberhorn, 51, of rural Durand, died at his home on Thursday, June 7, 2001. He was born September 30, 1949, in Durand, son of Carl and Donna Coburn Silberhorn. He attended school in Durand, graduating from Durand High School in 1967. He graduated from the University of Eau Claire with a degree in Business Administration and Sociology in 1972.
July 7, 1973, he married Teresa Glaus at St. Mary's Church in Durand. They lived in Denver, Colo., where he managed 7/11 Convenience Stores for Southland Corporation. They returned to Durand where Mark joined the family business and helped operate Club10 for 23 years. After the business was sold he worked at Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Menomonie. Throughout the years he also worked for Glaus Brothers and Denny Sievwright.
Mark was an avid sportsman. He especially loved fishing and recreation on the Chippewa River. He made numerous trips to Canada with his fishing buddies.
He is survived by: wife, Teresa of rural Durand; daughters, Megan, Lesley and Tiffany of rural Durand; parents, Carl and Donna Silberhorn of Durand; brothers, Mike and Dick Silberhorn of Durand; sisters, Jill (Greg) Bauer of Eau Claire and Kelly Silberhorn of Durand; and brother-in-law Dennis Odegard of Durand.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Carla Odegard and nephew Jay Odegard.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at the Holy Rosary Church in Lima. Cremated remains will be buried at a later date. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand.
Gyle Stetzer
Gyle C. "Stetz" Stetzer, 87, of 1778 N. 110th St., Chippewa Falls, Town of Hallie, died Friday, June 8, 2001, at the Clairemont Nursing Home, Eau Claire.
He was born August 29, 1913, in Black River Falls, the son of Bruce and Katie (Gallagher) Stetzer. He worked for Standard Oil Co. for 25 years and later worked at the Hallie Golf Course and Silhouette Inn in Hallie. He married Elsie Severson on June 17, 1935.
He is survived by one daughter, Kathleen LaGeese of Chippewa Falls; three grandsons, Darrel, Dennis and James LaGeese; four great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Clayton, Whitney and Josephine LaGeese; one niece, Jeanne Pinz of San Diego; one nephew, Stanley Larson of Florida and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; his parents; one brother, Elmer Stetzer; and one sister, Leona Larson.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Robert Hoekstra will be officiating. Internment will be in Prairie View Cemetery, Hallie.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Earl Duffy
Earl C. Duffy, of Holcombe, Wis., formerly of Minneapolis, died peacefully on July 20, 2001, surrounded by his family.
He was born to Robert Earl and Margaret Mazie Duffy on July 4, 1914, in Cottonwood, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Douglas; and sister, Zelda.
He is survived by his wife, Goldie; his son, James and his wife, Linda, and their children, James, Mary, Michael, Maggie and Gavin; his daughter, Andi Sadowski and her husband, Terry and their children, Tabytha, Tara, Leah and Joseph; his stepdaughter, Kathy Aubrect and her special friend, Randy Tull and her daughters, Holly and Heather; sisters, Kathleen Roseland and Grace Thake; and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2001, at Holcombe United Methodist Church.
Cremation Society of Minnesota in Edina handled arrangements.
Arnold Steinke
Arnold C. Steinke, 79, of Mondovi, died Friday, August 3, 2001, at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi.
He was born on September 21, 1921, in Gilmanton to Robert and Isabelle (Brixen) Steinke.
Arnold served in the U.S. Navy in World War II in the South Pacific.
He married Jean Root on September 14, 1946, in Mondovi.
He farmed in the Mondovi area and was employed at Parker Lime Quarry. He later did maintenance at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi until his retirement.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Mondovi American Legion Post #154.
He is survived by three daughters, Brenda (Bob) McKissick of Mondovi, Wis., Sara (Rev. Phillip) Schupmann of Aurora, Ill., and Norine (Gary) Longseth of Mondovi, Wis.; 11 grandchildren, Luke Warner, Leanna (John) Larson, Donna (Nacho) Aguilar, Lana Warner, Rebecca (Rev. John) Hein, David (Jenny) Schupmann, Melissa (Jay) Bickelhaupt, Paul Schupmann, Barbara Schupmann, Mary Beth Schupmann and Mary Norine Longseth; six great-grandchildren, Caleb Arnold Hein, Joshua Hein, Devin Larson, Zaccary Larson, Randi Lynn McKissick and Ricardo Aguilar; two sisters, Edna (Harry) Fluekiger of Alma, Wis. and Ruth (Bud) Mueller of Alma, Wis., and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; one granddaughter Roxann Longseth, his parents and two sisters, Irene Thompson and Doris Herold.
Services will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Mondovi, Wis., with Rev. Dennis Voss officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Mondovi. Military rites will be conducted at the grave by the Mondovi American Legion Post #154.
Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Mondovi or on Tuesday for one hour before the service at the church.
Steven Toutant
Dr. Steven J. Toutant, 84, 1603 Rust St., Eau Claire, died Friday at The Clairemont.
Dr. Steven J. Toutant was born April 26, 1917, in Cadott, Wis., to Joseph and Matilda (Dietzler) Toutant. He was a 1935 graduate of Cadott High School. In 1940 he graduated from the University of Minnesota Dental School where he
belonged to the Psi Omega. He practiced dentistry in Chippewa Falls from 1940 to 1942. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942 to 1946, stationed in the Aleutians. He retired as Lt. Colonel of the Air Force Reserve. He married Nona A. Murphy on June 28, 1947, at Gesu Catholic Church in Milwaukee. He practiced dentistry in Eau Claire from 1947 until his retirement in 1987.
He was a member of the American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association and Northwest Dental Association. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and past president of the Noon Exchange Club.
He was an avid baseball player and spectator in later years.
He is survived by: his wife Nona; one daughter, Michele A. (James) Lonning; two sons, Patrick J. (Kerry) Toutant, Dr. Steven M. (Nina) Toutant; seven
grandchildren, Emily, Michael, Katie, Patrick J., Jr. Toutant, Jay, Peter, Alec Toutant; one sister, Patricia (Leo) Barton of San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Lloyd (Kay) Toutant of New Berlin, Wis.; two nieces; other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Matilda.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 7, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Rev. Janusz Kowalski officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday, August 6, 2001, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Golden Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave., where there will be a 7:00 p.m. public prayer service, and Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Patrick's Church or to the charity of choice are suggested.

Vilma Vogler
Capt. Vilma E. Vogler died February 22, 2001, at the age of 91, in Milwaukee, Wis.
A memorial service was held at Luther Manor on February 26, 2001.
The committal service, with military honors, will be at 11 a.m. at Trinity Cemetery in Fall Creek, Wis., on August 11, 2001.
Vilma was born on the family farm in Hallie on August 13, 1909. She graduated from Luther Hospital in 1930. In 1939, she joined the Red Cross Army Nurse Corp. During World War II, she served in the 128th Evacuation Hospital which was in Africa, Sicily and entered Europe on D-Day plus 4. After 42 months overseas, she returned home and worked at Wood Veteran's Hospital in Milwaukee until her retirement.
Nieces, nephews, cousins and friends survive her.

Blanche Brice
Blanche I. Brice, 93, of St. John's Apartments, Eau Claire went to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 15, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Blanche was born May 4, 1906, the daughter of Carl and Amelia (Preston) Burns in Mondovi, WI. She married Hugh W. Brice on October 12, 1925 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Eau Claire for over 50 years. Blanche was a homemaker and she worked at SM Supply after her husband's death and until her retirement.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hugh; two sisters, Gladys Baker and Charlotte Berg and an infant brother, Orrin. Blanche is survived by her daughter, Beverly Peterson of Eau Claire, five grandchildren, Judith (Harold) Ritter of Chippewa Falls, James (Nancy) Peterson of Chippewa Falls, Allan Peterson of Eau Claire, Daniel (Dianna) Peterson of Chippewa Falls, Debra (Troy) Koteras of Chippewa Falls, eight great-grandchildren, Heather and Robert Ritter, Elizabeth Peterson, Christopher Peterson, Brice and Shawn Peterson, Benjamin and Keah Koteras; and many other relatives and friends.
Blanche was a loving and wonderful Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend to many. She loved her family, taking care of and arranging flowers, crocheting, baking cookies, visiting with her friends at St. Johns, picnics, boating and being active right up to shortly before her death. We will all miss you grandma-ma!
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 1999 at First Baptist Church in Eau Claire with Pastor Richard Goins and Pastor Marilyn Marston officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home in Eau Claire and an hour before the services on Tuesday at the church. Memorials will be given to First Baptist Church in Eau Claire.
