Marvin J. Simmelink, 83, of 4441 Lilac Ct., passed away Friday evening, March 16, 2001 at his home.
Born June 15, 1917, in Gibbsville, WI, Marvin was a son of the late Garret and Johanna Navis Simmelink. He attended Lima Center Grade School. On June 27, 1946, he was united in marriage to Lucille Meves in Adell, WI. They were married for 22 years before she passed away in May of 1969. On May 22, 1971, he married Anne F. Gamb in Las Vegas, NV.
Marvin and Anne were in the motel business for 13 years before his retirement in 1983. He previously worked for Borden's in Plymouth. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Kohler. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Anne, two sons, Robert (Sheboygan Falls) and Larry (Kris) Simmelink, Cedar Grove; two step sons, Helmuth Gamb, Sheboygan and Gerald (Barbara) Gamb, Kiel; two step daughters, Patricia (Dan) Harper, Kingman, AZ, and Nancy (Gilbert) Van De Loo, Sheboygan; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Florence Seich, Cascade, and Marie Burkhardt, Plymouth; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his first wife, Lucille, he was preceded in death by a sister and four step brothers.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Town of Wilson. The Rev. Thomas Schroeder, Pastor of Grace U.C.C., Kohler, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name for Grace United Church of Christ, Kohler.
Ella M. Uecker
Ella Martha Uecker, 84, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2001, at Meadow View Manor where she had been residing for the past few months.
Born September 7, 1916, in Milwaukee, Ella was a daughter of the late August and Ottilie Schuetz Wegehaupt. On June 23, 1943, she was united in marriage to Roland Arthur Uecker in Milwaukee. They came to Sheboygan to make their home in 1955. They were married for 31 years before Roland preceded her in death on May 17, 1975.
She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, a member of the Ladies Aid, worked in the Sunday School Office, and was a bible class teacher. She was also a member of the Sheboygan Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Ella is survived by her three children, Gerald (Suzanne) Uecker, Pontiac, IL, Phyllis Schmidt, Sheboygan, and Marilyn (Ronald) Rautmann, Oconomowoc; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ottilie Wegehaupt, Elsa Luecht, and Lucy Wegehaupt, all of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, husband Roland, she was preceded in death by a sister.
Funeral services for Ella Uecker will be held on Monday, March 26, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1818 N 13th Street. Pastor Alan Kretschmar will officiate. Interment will take place in Valhalla Memorial Park, Milwaukee. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to the hour of the service.
A memorial has been established in her name.
Norma V. Zimmerman
Norma V. Zimmerman, 96, formerly of 1722 N. 3rd Street, Sheboygan, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Heartland Country Village, Black Earth, WI, where she had been residing.
Born October 10, 1904, in Sheboygan, Norma was a daughter of the late Frederick and Clara Nack Greger. She attended Franklin Elementary and Central High School. On May 12, 1923, she was united in marriage to Helmuth Uttech. They were married for forty years before he preceded her in death on October 18, 1963. On May 7, 1967, she married Arthur Zimmerman. They were married fourteen years before he preceded her in death on April 24, 1982.
She was a lifelong member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and was a former Auxiliary member.
Norma is survived by her three children, Robert (Marie) Uttech, Eagle River, Ruth Hendricks, Leesburg, VA, and Delores (John) Hodgson, Madison; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Lester (Francis) Greger, CA; two sisters, Clarice (Robert) Scharinger, Sheboygan and Glenetta Hubert, Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by five brothers.
Funeral services for Norma Zimmerman will take place on Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lippert Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Ave. The Rev. Dean Pittelko, pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will take place in Lutheran Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 20, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name for St. Mark Lutheran Church.
Elaine A. Bender
Elaine A. Bender, age 70, died Friday, October 13, 2000, at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility, where she had been a resident since 1991.
Elaine was born February 23, 1930. She was the daughter of Edwin and Alma (Anger) Schuette. She lived on the family farm in Cleveland and graduated from Central High School in 1948. On July 23, 1949, she married Robert Bender. Elaine enjoyed bowling and crafts, and had been an employee of the Kohler Company.
She is survived by four sons, Robert Bender, Jr. of Howards Grove, Mark (Beverly) Bender of Plymouth, Michael Bender of Sheboygan and Brian (Jill) Bender of Sheboygan; three grandchildren, Jennifer Bender of Sheboygan Falls, Mark (Christina) Bender of Sheboygan and Nicole (Eric) Rasmussen of Sheboygan and four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Brandon, Hillary and Spencer Rasmussen of Sheboygan. She is further survived by three brothers, Ellsworth (Peggy) Schuette of Cleveland, Kenneth (Vi) Schuette of Roberts Lake, WI, Adrian (Vi) Schuette of Sheboygan; one sister, Eunice Leahy of Howards Grove and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Helen Lindow.
Private family services were held at Lippert Funeral Home. Interment was in St. John's Cemetery, Cleveland.
Marian J. Braun
Mrs. Marian J. Braun, age 67, wife of Dominic, of 129 Park Ave., passed away Friday morning, October 6, 2000, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
Born July 31, 1933, in Wayside, WI, Marian was a daughter of Joseph W. and Louise Otto Beimborn. On May 25, 1955, she married Dominic Braun at Zion Lutheran Church in Morrison, WI, and the couple moved to Sheboygan in 1955.
Marian was a caring wife, mother and homemaker. She had worked at Wigwam Mills for a number of years during the early years of the marriage. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, Dominic; four children, Karen (Jeffrey) Post, James, Debra and Susie Braun, all of Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Angela, Nathaniel and Christopher Post, and Randall Voss; two sisters, Verona Eichorst of Shirley, WI, and Josephine Hassemer of Wayside; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert; and a sister, Ramona.
A memorial service for Marian will be held at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 1818 N. 13th St., on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 4:00 p.m. The Rev. Alan Kretschmar, pastor, will officiate. Visitation will be at the CHURCH, on Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in her name.
The Lippert Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
George J. Felsher
George J. Felsher, age 77, of Mill St., Plymouth, WI, died Monday, October 23, 2000, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
Born July 21, 1923, in Algiers, LA, George was the son of the late Robert and Eugenia Dalier Felsher. He served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II from 1942 to 1946 in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He married Marie Sand in New Orleans, LA in 1946.
George is survived by three sons, Corby (Margie) of Sheboygan Falls, Michael (Cindy) of Hartland, WI, and John (Diane) of Denver, CO; seven grandchildren, Corby,Tracey, Allyson, Geoffry, Peter, Jenna and Christopher; and three great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Audrey and Drew. He enjoyed life.
Inurnment will take place in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
There will be no services or visitation at Lippert Funeral Home which has been entrusted with arrangements.
Marie Yurk Gutschow
Marie Yurk Gutschow, 88, of Sheboygan, died peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2000, at Morningside Health Care Center.
She was born March 18, 1912 in the city of Sheboygan. On August 15, 1931, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Gutschow in Sheboygan. The couple made their home in Sheboygan and he preceded her in death on January 3, 1986 at the age of 80.
In 1947, Lawrence and Marie started the company, Larry's Distributing, in Sheboygan. They enjoyed the time spent in the beverage business until their retirement in 1974. They were members of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Lawrence and Donna Gutschow ; seven grandchildren, Todd and Tyson Gutschow, Pamela Decker, Lisa Crocker, Kathy Reineking, Laurie Burns and Patty Gutschow; eighteen great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Gutschow; and a granddaughter, Lynn Gutschow.
The funeral service for Marie will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, at Lippert Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Ave., with Pastor Alan Kretschmar, of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome at the funeral home, on Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Town of Sheboygan.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund, in the name of Marie Gutschow, will be established for St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church.
