DELAVAN -- Dick W. Moore, age 79, of 353 Tyrrell Ct., died Thurs., Oct. 18, 2001, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee. He was born Aug. 29, 1922, in Parsons, KS, the son of Everett and Faye Moore. He married Elaine O'Connor in 1945 in Kansas. He was employed as an office supply salesman for Boise Casacade in Chicago before his retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II, also serving as military photographer.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Delavan; a daughter, Nancy (Keith) Shallcross of Delavan; a son, Ronald (Pam) Moore of New Port Richey, FL; 5 grandchildren: Allan (Jennifer) Moore of New Port Richey, Kris (Allison) Moore of Lutz, FL, Jason (Teresa) Shallcross of Delavan, Danielle Shallcross of Hawaii, and Marc Shallcross of Delavan; a great-grandson, Tyler Moore of New Port Richey; also nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Terry; and a sister, June.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sat., Nov. 3, 2001, at UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST - CONGREGATIONAL, Delavan, with Rev. Laura McLeod officiating. Monroe Funeral Home, Delavan, is assisting the family.
Mulrooney, Harriet I.

STOUGHTON -- Harriet I. Mulrooney, age 99, died at Nazareth House, Stoughton, WI on Oct. 18, 2001, where she had been a resident for the past 5 years. She was born on Irish Ridge in Prairie du Chien, WI on Aug. 2, 1902, the daughter of Lucy (Wenigor) and Thomas McGrath. She was a 1921 graduate of St. Mary's Academy in Prairie du Chien. On June 13, 1923, she married Clifford Mulrooney at St. Gabriel's in Prairie du Chien; he preceded in death in 1986. They lived in Bloomington, WI until 1943 when they moved to Madison, where they resided at 1833 Rowley Ave. Harriet worked for many years at Wisconsin General Hospital as a licensed practical nurse. She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Madison.
She is survived by 7 children: John (Glee) of Prairie du Chien, Stanley (Gertrude) of Janesville, Mary Jean (Richard) Erler of Arlington Hts., IL, Patricia Brader of Madison, Robert (Judy) of San Luis Obisno, CA, Elizabeth Jane (Roger) Watson of Las Vegas, NV and Jane Mulrooney of Flagstaff, AZ. Also surviving is a sister, Lucy Burk of Springfield, IL and sisters-in-law, Alice McGrath, Bea McGrath and Mary McGrath, all of Prairie du Chien; 2 brothers, Richard (Catherine) McGrath of Madison, William (Edith) of St. Petersburg, FL. Additional survivors include 26 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were 2 sisters, Mary and Margaret; 7 brothers: Joe, Tom, John, Charles, Eugene, James and Robert, who were killed in World War II.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Mon., Oct. 22, 2001, at BLESSED SACRAMENT CHURCH in Madison, with visitation at the church from 9:30 until 11 a.m., prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. in Bloomington, WI on Monday, the 22nd, at approximately 3:30 p.m. The Hansen Funeral Home of Janesville is in charge of arrangements.
Eldon "Al" Wirth
Eldon "Al" Wirth, 65, of rural Ettrick, died Tuesday, November 28, 2000 in Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, La Crosse, Wis.
He was born July 4, 1935 in Iowa to Leo and Sophia (Elsner) Wirth. On December 26, 1986 he married Marjorie Brueggen in La Crosse. Eldon had been a grain inspector until retiring in 1997.
Survivors are his wife, sons, Kevin (Shelly) Wirth, Daniel (Sandy) Brueggen; daughters, Tina (Bill) Merrill, Lutrica Wirth, Marsha (Tim) Klug, Kathy (Ron) Kleywegt, Jean (Paul) Strong, Lori (Gordie) Sveen, Kathy Holler, Carol (Roger) Ritter; 12 grandchildren; sisters, Alina (John) Lynch, Irene Faust; and a brother Fredrick (Nettie) Wirth.
A grandson, Brent Grieve; 3 sisters; and a brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held on Friday, December 1, 2000 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Ettrick. Fr. Thomas McInnis officiated. Burial was in Pine Cliff Cemetery, Galesville.

Emma Thompson
Emma Ackerman Thompson, formerly of Peoria, Ill., died April 5, 1999 at Marinuka Manor in Galesville, Wis. Mrs. Thompson was born in Tremonten, Utah on April 13, 1908. Her parents, Daniel J. Ackerman and Kathryn Getz Ackerman, returned to Peoria when she was a small child.
She had lived most of her life in Peoria before moving to Galesville in June 1996. She married Lloyd R. Thompson on January 2, 1932. Mr. Thompson passed away on July 21, 1981.
She is survived by her children Eric Jon Thompson, Galesville; Mary Thompson Anderson, Davenport, Iowa, Lloyd Deane Thompson, Mountain Home, Ark.; sisters Mildred Rapp, Pagosa Springs, Colo., Leona Sumner, Lufkin, Tex; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Twelve Oaks Apostolic Christian Church. Graveside services will be at the Parkview Cemetery in Peoria, Ill. on April 10, 1999.
George L. Trim
George L. Trim, 66, of Galesville, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998 in Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse,Wis.
He was born Aug. 13, 1932 in La Crosse, Wis. to Earl and Esther (Skrede) Trim. On Sept. 25, 1954 he married Eileen E. Brenengen in Galesville. George was a 4th generation farmer having worked the family farm in Little Tamarack on Trim Rd., rural Galesville.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Galesville and a past member of Centerville Curling Club.
Survivors are his wife of Galesville; 4 sons, Edward, Gary (Sue) and Earl all of Galesville, Daniel (Gloria) of Las Vegas, Nev.; 3 daughters, Phyllis (Mark) Stubbe of Schoefield, Wis., Jane (Steven) Schmidt of Las Vegas, Nev., Patty (Steve) McDonah of Trempealeau, Wis; 18 grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Richard) McKeeth of Galesville; and a brother, William (Juanita) of Arcadia, Wis.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren and a sister.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m., Monday, December 28, 1998 at Zion Lutheran Church, Galesville, with Rev. Arnold Flater officiating. Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Centerville, Wis. Friends may call at the church on Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998, from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 11:30 - 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Zwickey Funeral Homes, Galesville, assisted the family.
Phyllis Ann Truax
Phyllis Ann Truax, 72, of Ettrick, Wis. died Friday,
December 24, 1999 at Marinuka Manor in Galesville, Wis.
Phyllis was born May 12, 1927 to Corneille and Rebecca (Gibbs) Harris in Trempealeau, Wis. She attended area schools. Phyllis married Wayne E. Truax on
September 30, 1944 in the Centerville Methodist Church.
Phyllis was a member of Living Hope Lutheran Church in Ettrick, she also was very active in the Ettrick Golf Course running a lot of tournaments.
Phyllis is survived by her husband; 2 daughters, Cheryl Truax of Richfield, Minn., Margaret (Jim) Maynard of Ettrick; 2 sons, Dennis (Patti Muller) of Ettrick, Wayne P. (Shelby) Truax of Hudson, Wis.; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; one brother Gilbert (Ruth) Harris of Trempealeau, Wis.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 brothers.
Funeral services were Monday, December 27, 1999 at
Living Hope Lutheran Church in Etttrick. Rev. Lyle Ness officiated. Burial was in the Ettrick Public Cemetery.

Christine J. Van Tassel
Christine J. Van Tassel, 92, of 703 High Avenue, Apt. 302, Sheboygan, Wis., and formerly of Kohler, died Thursday afternoon, September 23, 1999, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center where she had been a patient for the past four days.
She was born on August 30, 1907, in Avon, S.D., the daughter of the late John and Martha (Skare) Johnson. Christine attended Galesville area schools and attended La Crosse State College. On November 1, 1928, she married the late Rolfe Howard Van Tassel in Galesville, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1980.
Christine was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Sheboygan. Christine is survived by Susan Johnson; 2 great nephews, Eric Johnson and Cory Johnson; one great niece, Kirsten (Joe) Stewart; one sister-in-law, Anne Johnson of California; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Art Johnson; and a nephew, Allen Johnson.
Funeral services were at the Huehns-Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Wednesday, September 29, 1999. The Rev. Larry Moody officiated. Burial was at Galesville Pine Cliff Cemetery in Galesville, Wisconsin. A memorial fund is being established in her name for St. Luke United Methodist Church and the American Cancer Society.
