Lester A. Storandt, 79, of Mindoro, Wis. died Wednesday, December 15, 1999, at Valley Lutheran Hospital, Mesa, Ariz.
He was born November 10, 1920, in Mindoro, to Alexander and Julia L. (Schilling) Storandt. On Sept. 16, 1946, he married Elva Jane Schleifer at Christ Evangielical Lutheran Church, Burr Oak. Lester was a dairy farmer on his family farm where he lived his entire life. He was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Burr Oak, where he served as church treasurer and was a member of the school and cemetery board. Lester also served on the Melrose/Mindoro school board and was a 10-year member of the La Crosse Coulee Chordsman.
Survivors include his wife, Elva; two daughter, Kay Campbell and Betty (Jeff) Wegner, both of Ettrick; one son, Gerald (Shirley) of Burr Oak; seven grandchildren; one sister, Doris Vick of West Salem; one brother-in-law, Herbert Craig, of Melrose; nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special family friend, Sheldon Legreid of Blair. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Gerald Campbell; a brother-in-law, Ray Vick; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Craig.
Funeral services were Tuesday, December 21, 1999, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Burr Oak. Rev. Andrew Schultz officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Wilhelmina E. Stull
On 19 August 1999, Wilhelmina E. Stull, most beloved, after 94 years of life filled with love and caring for others has gently died to this world. Her last days were in the Onalaska Nursing Home, Onalaska, Wis., but she had lived in Trempealeau, Wis., most of her life. She was born 27 May 1905 in Lake City, Minn. She married Leonard James Stull in 1925. He died in 1979.
She is survived by their four children: L. James Stull, Jr., Trempealeau; Julia (Philip) Schmidt, West Salem; Ethel (R. Joseph) Ouellette, Trempealeau; Lawrence (Marianne) Stull, Lake Holcombe; 18 grandchildren: Russell Stull, Sherry McLain, Loreen Emberger, and Edwin (Sue) Stull; Janet (Robert) Kaczorowski, Mary Gianino, Kenneth (Lynn), David (Laura), Ronald (Laura), John (Sherry) and Joan Gillies; Todd Ouellette, Naomi Hale, Craig (Diane), Gregory, Keith (Cheryl) Ouellette; Lynn (Patrick) Kilbane and James (Jennifer) Stull; 26 great-grandchildren: Ellynn, Rose; Eric, Kimberly; Lara, Daniel; Julie Ann, Charles; Seth; Jensyn; Alyssa; Abigail; Lea; Kenneth, Heather, Theresa, Christopher; Tracy, Jeremy, Amanda, Jordan, Jessica; Neal, Liana; Christopher J. and Ashley; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Sydney and Christian.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a brother, a step-brother, a daughter-in-law and two great-grandchildren.
Services were at Trempealeau United Methodist Church on Monday, 23 August 1999. Rev. Betsy Miller-Ruben officiated. Burial was in Trempealeau Public Cemetery.

Donald W. Stuhr
Donald Wilbur Stuhr, 72, of Melrose died March 26, 1999 at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, La Crosse, Wis. He was born November 11, 1926, in Onalaska, to Wilbur and Laura (Herrmann) Stuhr. He married Alice Marie Baird on June 28, 1952, at Hardies Creek Lutheran Church, Ettrick. Donald was a lifelong member of the Glasgow community. He also was an avid sports fan, playing city league baseball for about 10 years in Galesville and North Bend. He also coached local fastpitch softball teams including the 4-H team and Freddie's of North Bend. He loved traveling around the state to watch his sons play softball and enjoyed seeing his grandchildren participate in sports. Donald was a leader for the Glasgow-Hardies Creek Busy Bees 4-H Club for many years alongside his wife. He served on the Galesville Co-op Board as a director and then as president. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends in North Bend and others. He farmed the family farm for more than 55 years. Along with the farming, he spent many hours helping his sons and grandchildren prepare their dairy cattle for the Trempealeau County Fair. He had a true love for his Guernsey cows. Donald was very energetic throughout his life and enjoyed bringing a smile to everyone's face. He is survived by his wife, Alice; five son: Bruce A. (Ellen) of Melrose; David W. (Jennifer) of Galesville; Larry D. (Yvonne) of Melrose; Allan D. (Lori) of Ettrick; and Daniel E. of West Salem; seven grandchildren: Jessica, Courtney, Shane, Matt, Lindsay, Zachary and Brynna Stuhr; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Donald was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Phillip and Howard. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 30, 1999, in Hardies Creek Lutheran Church, rural Ettrick. Rev. John Ashland officiated. Burial was in Glasgow Cemetery, rural Ettrick.
Ronald J. Swartling
Ronald J. Swartling, 67, of Winona, Minn. died Tuesday, March 28, 2000 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Wis.
He drove a US mail truck and formerly drove the old Green Bay Route for his Dad. Ronald went to school in Trempealeau, Galesville and graduated high school in Merrillan, Wis. He entered the USAF at the very end of World War II and was extended by President Truman for the Korean War. After being discharged he returned home and helped his father run the Green Bay Mail Route which ran into Winona, Minn. Ronald later got a route of his own. He was in the EMS field for the last 45 years of his life.
Ronald is survived by a wayfaring son Daniel Joseph whom he has not seen nor heard from for years, a loving and caring daugher Ronda Jean (Dennis) Stelling of Millville, Minn.; a granddaughter Jessica, whom he loved very much; two sisters, Janice Mack of Eau Claire, Wis., Joyce Rhoades of Merrillan, Wis. and a brother Leo Swartling of Texas.
He was married and divorced twice and was presently a single man.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 1, 2000, at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Trempealeau, Wis. Fr. Robert Wagner officiated. Burial with full Military Honors followed in Holy Cross Cemetery, Trempealeau.

Marcella E. Swenson
Marcella E. Swenson, 69, of Ettrick, Wis., died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, in her home.
Marcella was born March 1, 1930, to Charles and Olga (Back) Nordstrom on the home farm in North Bend, Wis.
Marcella attended area schools and graduated from Melrose (Wis.) High School.
On March 17, 1951, Marcella married Raymond Swenson in South Beaver Creek Lutheran Church in Ettrick.
Marcella worked for Dutchman's Delite Food Service for many years and Jackson County Home Health Care from 1983-1987.
Marcella was a member of South Beaver Creek Lutheran Church, president of the W-ELCA for many years, taught Sunday School for many years and was president of the South Beaver Creek Cemetery Association for many years.
Marcells is survived by her husband, Raymond; 2 sons, Carl (Jean) Swenson, of Holmen; Bruce (Trudy) Swenson, of Mindoro; 3 daughters, Debra (William) Rice, of California, Rebecca Murphy and Beth (Rick) Weltzein, both of Arcadia; son-in-law Bruce Murphy, of Winona, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; Stacy, Katie, Jennifer Rice, Jeremy, Craig Swenson, Crystal (Michael) Price, Adrian, Michael, Adam Swenson; Bradley Murphy, Kayla, Brian Weltzien and great-granddaughter Amber Price; 3 brothers, Chester (Marjorie) Nordstrom, Wallace Nordstrom and Howard (Ann) Nordstrom, all of Melrose. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 29, 1999, at the South Creek Luther Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. John Ashland officiated.

Florence E. Swenson
Florence E. Swenson, 84, of Trempealeau died on Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. She was born on February 8, 1915 in Twp. of Arcadia to Selmer and Christine (Lindberg) Larson. She married Norval B. Swenson on June 30, 1937 at the parsonage of the French Creek Lutheran Church. Florence was a seamstrees at St. Clair's in Winona, a member of Tamarack Lutheran Church and the W.E.L.C.A. and a member of the quilting group and liked to play cards. She is survived by three daughters, Nylene Swenson of La Crosse, Wis., Eilseen (George) Knisely of Minneapolis, Minn. and Christine (Kelly) Knutson of Hager City, Wis.; 6 grandchildren: Lance Severson, Dena Bawek, Heidi Whelan, Jason Junghans, Kimberly Powers, Kyle Knutson; 8 great-grandchildren: Tyler Knutson, Nicholas and Rachel Whelan, Trever Knutson, Brett Powers, Samantha and Sara Severson and Alexandria Bawek; one brother Leslie (Ruth) Larson of Williamson, N.Y., and one sister Jeanette (James) VanKowenberg of Marian, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her husband Norval on November 14, 1995; 3 brothers Alvie, Leonard and Vernon Larson. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 6, 1999, at Tamarack Lutheran Church, the Rev. Jerry Hanson officiated. Burial was in Tamarack Lutheran Cemetery.
Kyle Joseph Nikitopoulos
Kyle Joseph Nikitopoulos, 12, of rural Galesville, died Friday, June 16, 2000 in Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, Wisconsin.
He was born November 17, 1987 to James and Laurie (Stellpflug) Nikitopoulos in El Centro, California.
Kyle had just completed 6th grade at Trempealeau Elementary and would have been attending G-E-T Middle School in Trempealeau this fall.
Survivors are his parents, Laurie Nikitopoulos of Galesville, and James Nikitopoulos of Ft. Madison, Iowa; a brother Clinton James Nikitopoulos, at home; maternal grandparents Donald and Betty Stellpflug of Trempealeau and paternal grandparents Basil and Olive Nikitopoulos of Port Orange, Fl.
Funeral services were Wednesday, June 21, 2000 at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church, Trempealeau. Fr. Robert Wagner officiated. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Trempealeau.
