William L. (Willie) Michel, 57, of Rush City, Minn. passed away on March 2, 1999 at the Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn.
He was born on May 12, 1941 in St. Paul to Herbert and Marie (Noll) Michel. On May 17, 1974, he married Vickie Oanes in St. Paul.
Willie worked in the automobile industry for 32 years. He was a salesman at Merit Chevrolet and Used Car Manager at Midway Chevrolet, Midway Ford, and Selchow Chevrolet. He managed Auto Parts City and sold '58 Chevrolet parts for Auto City Classic. He owned and operated Michel Snowplowing, serving the Rush City area for almost 20 years. He was presently employed by Central Chevrolet and Chrysler of North Branch.
Willie was a "people person" and will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, and caring. "He was always there when we needed him."
He will be greatly missed and always loved by his wife, Vickie; daughters Melissa and Heather; sister Delores (Jim) Schlagel; brothers, Jim (Judy) Michel and Chuck (Carol) Meyer; mother-in-law, Florence Oanes; sisters-in-law Sharon (Bob) Stensven and Eileen (Ken) Stensven; brother-in-law, Mike (Laura) Oanes; many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 6, 1999 at First Lutheran Church in Rush City with Pastor Laurie O'Shea officiating.
Diane Kaye "Dixie" Middleton
Diane Kaye "Dixie" Middleton, age 60, died peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, January 6, 2000 in her home. She was born October 31, 1939 to John and Hannah (Folkedahl) Terpening in Ettrick, Wis.
On September 19, 1965 Dixie married Robert Middleton at Living Hope Lutheran Church in Ettrick, Wis. She was a life long member of Living Hope Lutheran Church.
In addition to raising her 3 children she worked at Ettrick Mutual Insurance Company for many years.
Dixie will be deeply missed by her family.
Dixie is survived by her husband Bob; a son David of Onalaska, Wis.; a daughter Dawn (Mark) Ferguson of Milltown, Wis.; three grandchildren, Nathan, Emily and Samantha; two brothers Jack Terpening of Ettrick and Bobby Terpening of Black River Falls, Wis.
Dixie was preceded in death by a son Chad and a brother Ronald ÒBuckyÓ Terpening.
Funeral services were Saturday, January 8, 2000 at Living Hope Lutheran Church in Ettrick. Rev. Lyle Ness officiated. Burial was in Ettrick cemetery.

Warren "Bud" Miller
Warren "Bud" Miller, 83, of Trempealeau, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999 in his home.
He was born October 21, 1915, in Center, Wis. to William and Anna (Drafahl) Miller. On July 22, 1967 he married Lou E. Jergenson in Janesville, Wis. Bud owned and operated the Log Cabin Nightclub in Janesville for many years and retired to Trempealeau in 1977. Bud was an avid hunter and fisherman who truly loved and respected the beautiful outdoors. He was a member of the Trempealeau Lions Club and Trempealeau Sportsmans Club.
Bud was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family. Survivors are his wife Lou of Trempealeau; 2 sons, Thomas Miller of Beloit, Wis., Michael (Karen) Miller of Madison, Wis; 2 step-sons, Ronny (Nancy) Jergenson of Hickory, N.C., Dennis (Kathy) Jergenson of Peoria, Ariz.; a step-daughter, Sandra (James) Wesley of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis; 8 grandchildren; and 2 grt. grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother.
Funeral services were Friday, March 5, 1999, in Zwickey Funeral Homes, Galesville. Rev. Betsy Miller-Ruben officiated.
Alvin Edward Muller
Alvin Edward Muller, age 59, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at his home in Ettrick, Wis.
He was born April 22, 1939, to Carl and Sophie (Steinfeldt) Muller.
Survivors are a son, Carl, of Winona, Minn.; a daughter, Loretta, of South Carolina, and two grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Robert (Vicki) Muller, of Galesville, Wis., Richard (Barbara) Muller, of Houston, Minn., and a sister, Shirley (Roger) Schmit, of Fountain City, Wis., and several nieces and nephews.
At Alvin's request, his body was cremated.
Addie A. Murphy
Addie A. Murphy, 84, of 17721 Crestwood Ct., Galesville, Wis. died Wednesday, April 7, 1999 in Franciscan Skemp Health-care, La Crosse, Wis. of pneumonia.
She was born March 6, 1915 in La Crosse, Wis. to Robert and Alyce (Good) Kane. On June 30, 1945 Addie married Joseph S. Murphy of Chester, Penn. in La Crosse. He died December 8, 1982.
Survivors are a daughter Cynthia (Norman) Schein and their children Jeffrey and Jennifer of Galesville; a son Jeffrey (Mimi) and their children Ryan, Amanda and Jordan.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kane.
At the request of Addie her remains will be cremated. There will be no services. A private inurnment will be at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery Mausoleum, La Crosse, Wis.

Ralph B. Myhre
Ralph B. Myhre, 91, former Mayor of Galesville, died Thursday, March 11, 1999, at the family home where he was born on February 21, 1908. Ralph was the 13th and last child of Vandla Sophia (Oertegren) and Ole F. Myhre.
He attended the local public schools, the Madison College of Commerce, and UW-Madison. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He became President of the Gilbertson-Myhre Company in 1945, a family owned department store in downtown Galesville.
He served as Galesville's Mayor for 25 years, was past Chairman of the Cance Trust, President of the Building and Loan Corporation, and served as Chairman of the Trempealeau County Draft Board.
Ralph was a life-time member of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed sharing the family pool with local residents for more than 40 years. His hobbies included a love of travel, hunting, fishing, swimming, poetry, raising zinnias and marigolds, and was a devoted follower of the stock market.
His marriage to Marjorie Barth took place in 1972 in Acapulco, Mexico and was performed by Acapulco's Mayor.
He was preceded in death by his 3 brothers and 9 sisters. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie, her children Michel (Sidoney) Barth of San Diego, Calif. and their sons Daniel and Stephen; and Jerry (Nancy) Barth of Red Wing, Minn. and their daughters Summer and Hailey; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday, March 15, 1999, at the First Presbyterian Church in Galesville. Private burial with military honors at Pine Cliff Cemetery in Galesville with spring interment.
Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church, Gundersen Lutheran Hospice or the City of Galesville.
Arrangements were by Zwickey Funeral Home of Galesville.
Vivian Spaulding Heath
Vivian Spaulding Heath, 89, of Galesville, died Friday,
August 11, 2000 in Marinuka Manor, Galesville.
Vivian was born Nov. 5, 1910 in North Bend Township, Jackson Co., Wis. to John and Edith (Patterson) Spaulding. She resided most of her young life in North Bend with her grandmother, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Patterson. There she was employed at the North Bend Post Office and clerked in her uncle's general store. On July 26, 1936 she married Lee Wadleigh. He died May 26, 1965. She later married Harold Heath on Nov. 24, 1968 in Las Vegas, Nev. In 1970 Vivian and Harold founded H & V Tax Service of Galesville which they operated for 27 years. Vivian was an avid dog and cat lover, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Galesville.
Survivors are her husband;
2 sisters, Fern (Martin) Hoyer of Burr Oak, Wis., Catherine (Fay) Cullman of West Salem, Wis., a special sister-in-law, Mattie (Larry) Thomason of La Crosse; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Mac) Heiller of Brownsville, Minn., Darleen Heath of Galesville;
a special person, Maureen McBride Fortner of Trempealeau, Wis.; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Tuesday, August 15, 2000 in First Presbyterian Church, Galesville. The Rev. Jonathan Eastman officiated. Burial was in Pine Cliff Cemetery, Galesville. Zwickey Funeral Homes, Galesville Chapel, assisted the family.
