Gregory A. Nemetz
(1948-1999)
Gregory A. Nemetz, 50, of Medford, was pronounced dead on Sunday, June 6, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 11, at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford with Rev. Warren Behling officiating.
Cremainal interment will be held in Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1:30 p.m. until time of services on Friday.
Gregory A. Nemetz was born November 30, 1948, in San Francisco, Calif., to Arthur and Verna M. (Frischmann) Nemetz. He was a graduate of Centennial High School and then attended Community College, both in Anoka, Minn. He was previously married and later divorced.
A US Army veteran, he served during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970 and received a Purple Heart. After his military service, he attended college for a number of years. He then worked as an assistant art teacher at Anoka Community College for a period of time. In 1984, he moved to Medford and had resided here until the time of his death.
Survivors include his father, Arthur Nemetz of San Francisco, and two brothers, Ken Nemetz of North St. Paul, Minn., and Ron Kovalaske of Dorchester.
He was preceded in death by his mother.

Lempi M. Niemi
(1905-1999)
Lempi Maria Niemi, 93, of Rib Lake, died Wednesday, June 2, at the Rib Lake Health Care Center in Rib Lake. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 5, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Prentice with Rev. Duane Jalas officiating.
Burial was held in Leavitt Creek Cemetery in the Town of Hill. Pallbearers were Alan Kloehn, Melvin Heinlein, Dale and Alan Niemi, Roger Bergman, and Marvin Arkola. Randy Miller was an honorary pallbearer.
Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake assisted the family with the arrangements.
The former Lempi M. Muhonen was born December 7, 1905, in Bessemer, Mich., to Victor and Elin (Hopponen) Muhonen. She moved with her family to Ogema and attended Leavitt Creek Graded School. Her marriage to Mauno Matt Niemi took place on May 28, 1925, at St. Marx Lutheran Church in the Town of Hill.
She enjoyed making Christmas wreaths and working with her husband on their dairy farm. She also enjoyed taking care of her stray cats.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Choir and Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid.
Survivors include three daughters, Mildred (William) Rudolph of Cayuga, Lillian Miller of Oshkosh and Kathleen (John) Kloehn of Minocqua; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mauno on June 2, 1991; two brothers, Waino and William Muhonen; three sisters, Hilda Heinlein, Sylvia Mickel and Lila Holmes; a son-in-law, James Miller; and a grandson, William Rudolph Jr.

John Slobodnik
(1909-1999)
John Slobodnik, 89, Withee, died Friday, June 4, at the Clark County Health Care Center Hospice Care in Owen. Funeral services were held Monday, June 7, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee with Rev. Paul Petersen officiating.
Burial took place in the Town of Maplehurst Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike and Bill Stock, Randy and Bruce Slobodnik, Tom Volk, and Dan Szpara.
Maurina Funeral Home of Owen assisted the family with arrangements.
John Slobodnik was born November 22, 1909, in New York to George and Julia (Harmon) Slobodnik. As a young child, he returned to Czechoslovakia where he received his education. He returned to the United States when he was 18 years of age and worked for the US Steel Company in Gary, Ind.
On March 1, 1930, he married Clara Kristel. They moved to the Town of Maplehurst and farmed there from 1947 until retiring in 1972. He continued to live on the farm until entering the Clark County Health Care Center in March 1997. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his artistic talent for sketching.
He was a supervisor for the Town of Maplehurst for many years.
He is survived by two sons, Richard (Dolores) and Larry (Carol) Slobodnik, both of Withee; a daughter, Dolores "Dolo" (Herbert) Stock of Owen; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Clara on September 17, 1993; and a granddaughter, Roxanne Slobodnik in 1956.

Rae V. Capelle
(1924-1999)
Rae V. Capelle, 74, Medford, died Wednesday, August 11, at Memorial Nursing Home in Medford. Funeral services were held Friday, August 13, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford with Rev. Dennis Meulemans officiating.
Cremainal interment took place in St. Andrew Cemetery in the Town of Goodrich.
Visitation and a Prayer service were held at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford.
Rae V. Capelle was born October 15, 1924, in Medford to Otto and Hulda (Klug) Capelle. He attended the Wisconsin State School for the Deaf in Delevan and also Eau Claire Vocational School for two years. His marriage to Della Rose Kennedy took place on November 23, 1961, in Chicago.
He resided and worked in Chicago for a pharmaceutical company for 18 years. In 1974, he returned to Medford and was employed at Weather Shield Mfg. until retiring in 1985. He entered Memorial Nursing Home in 1996.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Della of Memorial Nursing Home in Medford; one brother, Rolland (Dorothy) Capelle of Tallahassee, Fla.; and one sister, Loretta Kraemer of Monona.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Florence Pries; and four brothers, Melvin, Glen, Everett, and Clarence Capelle.

Adelbert W. Decker
(1913-1999)
Adelbert W. "Del" Decker, 85, of Chippewa Falls, died Monday, August 9, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. Funeral services were held Friday, August 13, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls with Rev. Edmund Doerre officiating.
Burial was held in Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
Visitation and a Christian Vigil service were held at Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls.
Adelbert W. Decker was born November 8, 1913, in Poniatowski, Marathon County, to George and Clara (Stroota) Decker and was raised in Dorchester. His marriage to Arlene F. Fritsche took place on November 6, 1934.
He and his wife resided in Stetsonville. In 1942, they moved to Eau Claire and settled on a farm in the Town of Seymour where they lived for more than 50 years. He worked at Sterling Pulp and Paper Company in Eau Claire as a wood scaler for 30 years. He then worked at EDI in Chippewa Falls for seven years before his retirement. He enjoyed playing cards.
He was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, the Loyal Order of Moose 246 and a past president and long-time member of the Eagle's Aerie 2213.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene; three sons, James (Audrey) of Mukwonago, Dale (Robin) of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and David (Berdine) Decker of Bloomer; six daughters, Phyllis (Alvin) Johnson and Diane (Charles) McCreary, both of Chippewa Falls, Sharon (Robert) Connell of New Haven, Ind., Carol (Steven) Day of Altoona, Judy (Dennis) Olichwier of Willard, and Paula (Michael) Ericksen of Sturtevant; one sister, Roselind Didier of Dorchester; one brother, Ben Decker of Oconomowoc; 27 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Delores Zylka and Margaret "Peg" Thurlwell; two brothers, Oscar and Myron "Mike" Decker; one son, Galen on August 9, 1978; and one great-granddaughter, Emily Kremer.

Jerome Doubek
(1926-1999)
Jerome Junior "Jerry" Doubek, 73, Spring Lake Park, Minn., died Tuesday, August 10, at his home. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 14, at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake with Rev. John Meyer officiating.
Burial took place in Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake. Pallbearers were Marvin, Bob, Jerry, and John Doubek, Bob Leonhard, and David Glenzer.
Jerome Doubek was born April 18, 1926, in Milwaukee to Jerry and Marie (Krushat) Doubek. He attended Ward Elementary School in Rib Lake. He served in the US Navy during World War II. On May 19, 1951, he married Rae Jean Glenzer at St. John's Lutheran Church.
He was employed at Woodman Manufacturing in production for 23 years and then as a machine operator at Barry Blowers for nine years. He retired in 1988. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Rib Lake and of the Circle X American Legion Post 566.
Survivors include two sons, Bill (Fay) and Dennis (Mary) Doubek, both of Circle Pines, Minn.; two brothers, Bob (Julie) of Hanover Park, Ill., and Marvin (Emy Lou) Doubek of Rice Lake; a sister, June Doubek of Rib Lake; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Rae Jean on March 19, 1986.

Phillip Flock
(1918-1999)
Phillip Flock, 80, Gilman, died Wednesday, August 11, at Zastrow Care Center in Gilman. Funeral services were held Monday, August 16, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman with Rev. Phillip Juza officiating.
Burial was held in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Gilman.
Gilman Funeral Home in Gilman assisted the family with arrangements.
Phillip Flock was born November 4, 1918, in Melvina to Casper and Mary (Willger) Flock. The family moved to Gilman and he grew up there.
Survivors include his stepfather, Jerry O'Connell of Gilman; three brothers, Richard of Burlington, Leo of Racine and Robert Flock of Iron River; four sisters, Catherine Kexel of Marshfield, Ruth Staudinger of Racine, Agnes Frankie of Iron River, and Caroline Sydlo of Union Grove; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ted; and two sisters, Marie Pawlik and Eleanor Krapp.
